scaredwitless wrote:Sorry ac fans, I think these are PC only tools, but I am sure there are equivalents for mac out there. 1Password from http://agile.ws/products/1Password is probably the closest mac equivalent to Roboform. Both Roboform and 1Password are outstanding products.

I got a Power Sentry 825VA model. Only 2 outlets, and it's near useless: try to plug something into either receptacle and the plug just falls in -- there is no tension whatsoever keeping the plug in. I pried the prongs on the plug apart trying to create enough tension to make a connection. Doing so made it work, but I don't feel good about it and shouldn't have to do that to begin with. Just another piece of crap that's on closeout for good reason.
The extras were decent considering they were thrown in for free. No complaints there even if I may not use them. (Pillow, small surge protector, flashlight)

Zack wrote:Actually, I have been a wOOt member almost from the beginning although I don't purchase much there anymore. I have never gotten a B.O.C., but it was fun in the forums to see the fools that would not spend the $3 for the full Monty. Woot pretty much tells you that if you are too cheap to spend the $3, you are not going to get the "whole" package. They have always said that in their descriptions and in the forums, but there always a few who do not get it (literally). Always follow the FAQ's, or be laughed at . People only buy one because getting 1 is better than getting none. The time it takes for you to change your order from a quantity of 1 to a quantity of 3 pretty much guarantees you will miss the sale since it will be sold out by then.

Today's stootsi also is for AA batteries for a bit more: basically 32 for $8.98 postpaid. BUT stootsi's were Energizer e2 Titaniums!

25 cents a battery? Not a bargain in my book. My local warehouse club has 48 for under 10 bucks and I trust their brand a lot more than Philips.

greekgrl61 wrote:.My 12.3 lb box of joy should be here today. Wow, 12.3 lbs! -- Mine was about half that weight. I don't want to post any spoilers but the extra items were, for the most part, a pretty good deal. I got 6 extra bits along with the set of power squids. (The squids are both in one package -- it's a retail 2-pack.)

babnak wrote:Did the shipping price just go down? I placed an order and it $6 now it's only $4. Right -- the maximum shipping charge is $10/day. $6 the first order. $4 the next. Free after that, for the day. Trouble is, sometimes only one item is offered a day, so this is fairly often meaningless. Anyhow, full details of this and other policies are in the FAQ. A link to the FAQ is at the top of every page.

With so many of these around (plus they often come in mystery boxes as well) I'm a little surprised they aren't free, plus $6.00 shipping, of course. Free sounds a lot better -- plenty of money to be made on the shipping alone. But I don't pretend to be a member of the Royalty, so what do I know?

CompanyClerk wrote:What other ratings are available for this type of cable? If 1.3 is good... Is 1.0 bad? Would 2.3 be even better?
1.3 is the latest. (1.3c actually, but as far as cables go, 1.3 is the one to shoot for). And *high speed*. HIgh speed can handle 1080p and up. If they're not high speed, in theory they can only handle up to 1080i. So which are these? I dunno. Probably not the latest or they wouldn't be on closeout. On the other hand they may work fine -- probably Monster and AR overbuilt them. Probably Phillips and RCA didn't. But just my guess. I won't be risking in it though. Damned if I gonna accommodate HD signals without a cable I know can handle it. Cables that are certified 1.3 are available on the web for a lot less than what the big box stores charge. Kinda like running a gigabit network but using cheap cat 5 cables. Yeah, right. Good luck.

xeromist wrote:Just bought a bluetooth mouse yesterday. This isn't a bluetooth mouse though. While bluetooth is often built in to computers thus eliminating the need for a receiver plugged into a precious USB port, this mouse requires its own USB dongle. And a rather large one at that. So, what do you get with this large receiver operating at a very interference prone 27Mhz? A paltry 5 foot range and one less USB port. No thanks, I'm sitting this one out. It's on the expensive side anyhow.
