These look like great speakers but they require 6 AAA's and have a 6 hours or less battery life. So 12 AAA for both sets not very cost efficient and why no AC possibility... seems sorta backwards to me. If only they didn't just run off batteries, I guess you could go the rechargeable route but still way too $$$.

I bought the http://www.thingfling.co...tts-Battery-Backup.aspx
For 34.99 Was a great buy worked perfect just remember to let it charge completely before using it. Not sure how well this will hold up use as a UPS for a pc unless its a low/medium-end PC with minimal specs and an average LCD monitor. MY specs are Asus mobo (don't know exact model off hand. Intel q9400 Nvidia 8800 Ultra 4gigs ram 650watt PSU and 5 7200 RPM hard drives. I can easily get 5-10 minutes out of a full charge with the high capacity version of this product so I would expect at least 2-5 maybe more. Use the added USB and software to setup auto shutdown when your power goes out.

matter_ic wrote:So, these are HDMI on one end and DVI on the other (so to use it as an HDMI to HDMI cable, I would need a DVI-> HDMI converter)? This is used to go from the DVI port on your graphics card in your PC/Mac to an HDMI port on a HDTV to use it as a monitor. So if you have more than one HDMI port on your tv you could have a source for your cable and one for you pc. Just need a wireless mouse/keyboard and you have a All-in-One tv setup Also, you have to have a compatible graphics card to send the sound through the DVI-HDMI for your TV or entertainment system. This is an OK deal but fairly useless at 6 feet. I'd rather have 25' or more which you can find online for under 20 bucks... You can get two of these exact cables for 8 buck on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H32UYE
A 15ft cable here for under 7 bucks http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V1O1GM
25' for under $15 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00176RZRM

I love LED flashlights and this is a great deal. I see these all the time in gas stations and convenience stores for nearly $7 a piece exact or similar models. Light output on those are not great for 20LEDs though the batteries might have been low plus these are generics. I'm getting to the age where I have to start gifting at Christmas, etc.. these would be great things for kids or family members to have something to keep on your person or in the car just in case or just around the house for safety when the power is out or when taking your pet outside at night.
I'm in for one, I had to use my first fling coupon before it ran out I forgot about it on my past several flings. You can't beat free shipping either and they come with batteries!

Well, whatever it is I'm anxious to see! My first package is .07lbs and my second is .06lbs Now, a wireless adapter is just wishful thinking though, would be quite wonderful not having to use my laptop to connect to xbox live.

Got the sound bar today... well I'm glad I didn't get them for $60. Mine is already crackling after a few minutes of use at low volume. If you barely attempt to max the sounds it becomes so distorted you can barely hear music. Not sure if mine is just defective or I was expecting too much, prob the latter...
Tried it via the AUX port and using my iPhone and a sounds better, you can easily max the volume with little distortion depending on genre and the etcetera . Either source there is hardly what I'd call bass. Treble is definitely there, mids are so so.
Do not place the speaker at eye level or above, it sounds richer at keyboard level which is was designed for.
Sounds decent playing some Headhunterz Hardstyle, but you don't get any of the bass. Also, played some Drum & Bass Arena 50 bestand some other electronic made music and it seems to play the best, just no bass. Definitely not something you would use to play industrial noise music like Unter Null, Wumpscut or the like on. Death metal, EX: Lividity, Exhumed, Corpsef*cking Art, etc... sound 1/2 decent but seems there is too much going on to handle it all.
The more mellow metal like acid bath and etc sounds ok
Played some "punk", Leftover crack, chocking victim, capitalist casualties, etc.. seems to be over ran by treble using the MP3 player but sounds fine on the PC. Can hear the bass guitar pretty well.
I feel a did a decent style test, I didn't test rap, r&b, pop, radio junk so I'm not sure how those handle.
Final verdict: For the 16.99 + S/H they are worth it but nothing more despite reviews on other sites. Then again it could just be my unit. I was going to pair it up with my LCD HDTV but I don't think it would be a good idea, I'll try it anyway though.
EDIT: I hooked it up to my LCD just to test it. It works fine for normal lower volume watching, again little bass and easy distortion by certain sounds. I tested guitar hero 3 and it was playable at a low volume level lower than i like to play that game or watch movies. So I mean it's on par or better than most built in TV speakers. I have my 5.1 PC speakers rigged to my LCD and they are obviously much better, however they are just standard digital 2.1 since i don't have a converter just 3.5mm to RCA... byt this sound bar does do decent for tvs.

JohnDubya wrote:Anyone have experience with this UPS? I can't find any reviews on it. Just bought one on Aug 10th, it works flawlessly for keeping my rig powered on and my LCD monitor. I haven't tested actual up time when removed from the wall outlet but after a 100% charge you should have ample time to shut down. It also come with a USB cable and software to manage/monitor your UPS aka Battery Backup. It lets you run self tests, monitor battery charge, voltage, etc... you can have it email you in the case of power outage and a slew of other messages. My favorite feature is automatic shutdown, so if the back up battery is getting low it will initiate a shutdown timer you setup and you can have it shut down from a few different variables. It can also page you... But you have to make sure you leave it plugged in for ~6 hours before you start using it with any devices. I've needed one for years but could never afford one, they are life savers so I'd recommend one to anyone. Just remember this isn't you high end APC device but it gets the job done and for cheap. Specs for comparison: 650watt PSU nvidia 8800 ultra 4 X 1tb 7200RPM drives 2 X 500gb 7200 3gigs ram normal cd/dv burner older dual core CPU Storage protection is my main concern Thanks TF!
