Bought one of these remotes a year ago, and we absolutely love it. They came up again later, and I tried to buy two more. ThingFling had "problems" with their inventory and tried to ship my SRU9600s instead. Hopefully there's no shenanigans this time

Hah! I actually had tweezers like these on my Christmas list! Now I don't have to rely on a family member correctly interpreting the list

"A totally good experience".... what?? "Good" experience? Wow, you know this must be crap if even the marketer didn't think "great", "excellent", etc was appropriate!

I worked with the first two that I got and, since I was happy with them, never bothered to even open the package from my second shipment.
Well, the other day it was time to provide a gift to someone in my family, so my wife opened the second package, brought one of the remotes over to me, and asked, "Should I wrap this up?"
At first glance, I could see that the package was opened and had a "Returned" sticker on it. I freaked recalling that the SRU8010 units were advertised as brand new. Obviously, these were refurbs.
When I turned the package over, I saw that it was, in fact, an SRU9600. I looked in the package at the other one and saw that it too was a refurbed SRU9600.
My wife and I bought an 8010 a long time back and continue to be VERY pleased with it. When the 8010s went back on sale in the afforementioned April time period, I decided to buy two more (for my dad and father-in-law). According to TF, something went wrong with their inventory and they couldn't ship the 8010s. Instead, they'd ship 9600s as a replacement, unless you asked for a rebate within 7 days. I took the rebate. But anyways, that's how you ended up with 9600s instead of 8010s. Why'd I'd take the rebate? Simple, a touchscreen seems like a stupid feature for a remote. I don't want to take my eyes away from the TV in the middle of a show to look for buttons; I want to find them by touch. Can't do that with the touchscreen.
