Got my 4 sets today, and well pleased. Might get a few more if they come up again. Actually got them to mount some security cameras, which these will do fine. Hadn't expected all the extra hardware that comes with, and two Allen wrenches as well. Seem sturdy enough, but not sure how much speaker I'd trust to plastic though.

Guess this would hold up well in the hot tube or swim pool... Would be a pretty cool toy, if it pumped water and stuff, just not enough room to add stuff like that though. Nice looking model, but suspect it would end up a chew toy for my Lab puppy/dog.

RetiredNow wrote:I got two boxes of stuff. It was just they said it would be. I'm a hit in my retirement community. All the little old ladies are coming to my place with cookies so they can rummage through the boxes for stuff they need. Thanx RF... the little old ladies appreciate it. Did you get the 45 lbs? Would loved to see a picture of the mountain of stuff that must have made. I just got one box, and it filled my couch pretty good. Imagine a lot of stuff will go fast, when word gets out. Apparently, cats are kind of abusive to phone cords. My last one wasn't all the destructive, but she spent a good deal of her time outdoors. My puppy lost his taste for wires, after an unfortunate battery charger incident...

Been here a year or more, and never a bad deal, haven't even tried customer service. Everything has gotten here as ordered and fully functional. I did have a UPS blow an internal fuse, which replacing didn't help (big sparks when re-connecting the battery), didn't pursue it further (hate getting shocked). Couldn't complain, had an old APC, which the battery fits, and still a good price. The other three are all working just fine, no down time, so guess the have enough backup time for the minor outages we get.
Didn't get any headsets, but don't use them anyway, and have several from past mystery boxes. Still can't get over the shear volume of stuff in that 15 lb box. One was more than enough for me, well worth $20.
Going to be tough to sort out, but keep together. Have to figure some way to organize it some...

Just got mine! Here are some photos: Hope they look alright, haven't posted pictures in a while. Got maybe a dozen different items, many repeats. They weren't exaggerating, there probably is close to 100 items. Nice assortment, some will get put to use in a little bit. Needed a splitter, got a bunch. Lots of nice wall boxes, which look like nice enclosures for electronics projects. A lot of wire too. Couldn't imagine 45 lbs of this stuff, I got enough to easily stock the shelves a Walmart (if they still sell this stuff). Pretty nice deal though, will get some good use out quite a few items.

RetiredNow wrote:Mine shiped...It says 24lbs for 3.....Seems like half the 15lbs times 3 that I was suppose to get...what gives The tracking sites don't always report the weight accurately, but it's rare. A 45 lb package would be pretty hefty, maybe it's split into two boxes. Which could lead to other possibilities, you may only have tracking for package one, of two, but both are covered by the same number. Could be two tracking numbers, one for each, but you only got one of them, as it's a single purchase. Have you inquired, with the staff? I've always found that you get what you purchased here, sometimes a little more, but never been short changed. I there is a problem, they'll resolve it in your favor. Just out of curiosity, 45lbs of assorted land line accessories seems like a lot, do you have any specific plans? I just got one, figure I might use 5 or six items as intended, the rest will sit around until someone needs something, or I find an alternate use. My tracking says the box is 15.0 lbs., and should be here today, Fedex Ground. I use http://www.packagemapping.com . Gives pretty good details, and a map of where you package gets scanned as it travels. Will post a picture of the contents when it arrives. I'm on dial-up again, and haven't upload pictures that way in a while, probably keep the size and resolution low.

To my knowledge you only get shagged during a MB... and I speak from experiance.. Ooo they also sent me a get well card when I was ill as well... and alot of dental floss! I got shagged on a Soundbar Almost Mystery Box, and got a lot of very nice stuff, mostly useful. This is kind of unique, don't think they've offered a box like this, maybe cables once. Personally, I believe you can get shagged on any purchase, just a fun thing to do occasionally to brighten a random customer's day. Good marketing too. I plan to stick with the land lines, just as long as available, and let the answering machine catch the calls. I can wait to get home, and take care of all those needs. Walking a few miles, if the car breaks down, has never hurt me before, exercise is good. One of my hobbies is electronics, so not too worried about what I get in the box, some will get re-purposed for other types of projects. Should be an interesting assortment for me. I would have bought a box of broken or non-functional electronics returns just as easy. *oops, wrong thread...

Come on fellow flingers help me justify this purchase haha. Well, there is always shagging potential with mystery boxes, although stated, this is not. But these folks are quite generous, you never know. The economy is still in bad shape, and will likely continue. More people will be ditching their cellphones toys, for the practical. Some of this stuff may turn out useful or valuable to you, or people around you later on. They say the recession is over, but people are still losing jobs and homes. Think we still have a long way to go. I've never owned a cellphone, and the city just shut off the free high speed, so I'm back on dial-up for a while. Thinking about getting this, because I need a splitter. My Vista computer only has a line in jack, so I have to keep manually switching to use the phone. If there isn't one in the box, like enough stuff to construct one.

Mine is still a puppy, kind of a large puppy... The yard is fenced, but he's escaped a few times to play with other dogs. Labs are a hunting breed, not sure if a beep or a shock would be a huge deterrent when he gets focused on something. He's getting much better, but he still has a lot of maturing to do. Besides, I take out at least twice a day for walks, would be kind of cruel to forget to turn it of sometimes before we leave. Just takes a lot of patience, but it usually works out pretty good. I don't use negative re-enforcement to train, don't want him to fear me, just respect me.

Got mine today, only opened one to play with (spent all day playing truck mechanic). Seems to work, although the short seems like about 10 feet (not too useful), the long seems to be about 50 feet. Little short of what was claimed. The tag battery metered at 3.2 volts, so should be good, have to look at the instructions for opening the receiver. Will try the laptop tag later.
My dog wasn't cooperating too well, seems interested in the beeps. Soon as he gets out of range, and it beeps, he comes back to see what mad the noise. Was kind of hoping to see if I could use it to locate the dog, being that it would stop beeping when I got close. Kind of a long delay between beeps too, guess it saves battery power.
Should note, these are very small, which opens up some interesting ideas...
