Has anyone received theirs from the 10/4/09 sale date? If not, has anyone received tracking information or does the status still say "processing"?

I finally convinced myself to pick one of these up, and came up with a valid reason to prevent myself from being scolded! Too bad I came up with it too late. I hope this is offered again.

I had to think long and hard on this one. I was only able to find 4 reviews, 3 of them negative. The biggest complaint was that this speaker sounded no different than the TV speakers, and there was no "surround" sound. Even to get a little of the "surround" effect, the room had to be perfectly square, and still the reviews said there was no "surround" sound. It's unfortunate, since the price was so good, but I just didn't see the point of it, if it offered nothing more than regular TV speakers offer. Maybe the reviewers were wrong, but for the price, no matter how much of a savings, I just couldn't chance it.

Anyone have any experience with this? Seems like a gimmick to me, but if it's any good, maybe I can get it for someone as a Christmas gift.

I need the 15 band detector. Cobra makes a few, but I've always owned Escorts. They pretty much use LIDAR almost all the time around my area, so I need one that detects it. My Passport 8500 did well for years, but it's outdated now. Of course radar detectors can't help you against cops who happen to be inept at using a radar gun. I've received quite a few tickets in my lifetime and I never argued or contested any of them. However, just last month, I was given a reckless driving ticket, 90 mph in a 65 mph area, when in actuality I was only going 75 mph. There were 2 morons racing, a black Lexus and a blue SUV that looks similar to mine. They each passed me on either side like I was standing still, just as we were passing the cop. Since these 2 fools were driving like idiots for awhile, my girlfriend and I both laughed, when we saw the cop pull out, since there's never one around when you need one. By this time the Lexus slowed down since he saw the cop, but the SUV took off like a bat out of h3ll. I was sure this was the vehicle the cop was going after. As I saw him coming up behind me, I moved out of the way, and he moved behind me. Confused, I moved over again, and he moved with me. This is where I was in disbelief. How could a cop be so ignorant? Needless to say, he pulled me over, ignored what I told him, and gave me a ticket requiring my presence in court, in a town 2 hours from where I live. It was his discretion to make it reckless driving or straight speeding, the latter being and offense I wouldn't have to go to court for, but he chose the former. As I type this, I'm still in disbelief. My court date is at the end of the month, and I'll have to call a lawyer, but I'm not optimistic. Like I said, I've had many (well over 20 or 30) tickets in my time, most in my younger years, and I've been to court my fair share of times. I've never once seen a judge believe an offender over a cop. So, needless to say, my chances are slim. It just irritates me that I was cited for someone else's violation. I honestly never would have assumed this could happen. Now I'll not only have to pay lawyer's fees and an astronomical fine, I'm sure my insurance will go up too, since the charge was "reckless". Just my luck. Incompetence, like this cop showed, is probably the reason our State is the only state in the country where radar detectors are illegal. To his credit though, he was actually a professional and friendly cop, which is rare. Almost every other time I've been pulled over, save for a few, the cops went out of their way to be complete and utter ignorant pr!cks.... Still, this cop isn't up high on my Xmas list.......

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time anyone was able to get free shipping? I've tried several times, but either the items are listed all day, and no new items are offered, or even if you submit multiple orders for the same item, after the second order, and once you're shipping is listed as "free", the site tells you you're not allowed to place anymore orders, since you're over the limit. If TF wants to stop with the free shipping, that's fine. I have no problem with that. However, don't advertise it as a benefit of the site, then block the possibility of ever being able to take advantage of it. In the past, there were no problems, but now, as stated, the same item is listed for 24 hours or more, or you're blocked from placing a third order, allowing free shipping.

Did a Cool Downz touch you inappropriately as a child? Maybe a Cool Downz ran over your puppy? Perhaps your mother cheated on your father with a Cool Downz (you know how those leopard prints are!) - whatever the reason - your obviously injured psyche is lashing out and holding this particular deal responsible for your (insert neurotic characteristic here)
Lighten the****up, dude. you're proving yourself to be nothing more than an argumentative internet conspiracy theorist.
You can get a better deal on these - then buy them where you can get the best deal.
Others either have no access to them, except online (and this is a deal comparatively, to CURRENTLY available pricing) or whatever IS available locally is more expensive than this.
Why, exactly are you acting with such a self entitled attitude that they OWE you a better deal?
Vote with your wallet and don't buy. If others find it to be a deal - keep your internet twerp little comments to yourself.
You wreak of resentment, and there's no reason for it. I'm amazed at the lack of comprehension skills the brainless seem to have in this forum. This stopped being about price long ago. I could care less about the price. I made one comment about the somewhat substantial increase, said my peace, and that was it. People with "goatcrapp" for brains, such as yourself, seem to want to turn it into something more, as if I somehow personally killed their family pet. I disagreed with a price. Get over it. Grow up. It has nothing to do with any of you lifeless, juvenile, unintelligent entities, who can't seem to comprehend what a discussion is truly even about. No wonder why there's so much arguing in the world. The people doing the arguing don't have the intellect to even comprehend what the argument is about. Now it makes sense to me. That's why all these nonsensical examples and statements have been coming up. Again, the price was too high in my opinion. I said it. I didn't purchase. My apologies if my disagreement with a price seems to make you wet your little diapers....... A forum is for opinions and discussions. Seriously, those of you who get so upset and offended, if the online store you seem to have bonded so freakishly with is spoken negatively of, are truly in need of psychiatric help. At a minimum that is............... As for the rest of the childish, pointless, and pathetic attempts at humor you've attempted to convey, any intelligent reply would be lost on someone with an IQ as low as yours. Seriously, your "jokes" are so bad, I'm actually embarrassed FOR you.....

I am single.... what would I need with a 24 pack of these??? I wanted to try them out, but wasn't ready to jump on 24 of them.... a bit excessive for my household. The smaller pack is just my size. I am a letter carrier and thought these might help me on my route to keep cool.... I just don't think the USPS will let me get away with the leopard print or the peace signs, but the blue and gray ones should be just the ticket. Ppl who want the 24 packs are usually resellers on Ebay or whatever. I think its stupid to complain about prices going up when its STILL a great deal! Someone said "This is nowhere near the deal it was." Well no crap, you rocket scientist! The economy is constantly changing the way the manufacturer and the businesses charge for things. TF is still a business, you cant expect them to sell you something for less than what they paid for it (and their costs) just because once upon a time you got a better deal on it! Does the grocery store you shop at charge you the same for milk that they did in 1987? uhhh NO. Does the gas station that you go to give you the same prices you paid 10 years ago? uhhh NO. Get over it. I bought a pack for MY FAMILY and not for RESELLING and I am thrilled with the price! SO much cheaper than anywhere else! You resellers need to go strike a deal with the manufacturers instead of crying about having to pay 'too much' for them here. WAH! It only comes with 8...... "How many frekin heads do you have???" WAH! Hey, TF. I would LOVE the ones with colors and peace signs! Give me the ones that the post man guy didnt want and he can have my gray and blues lol. They are for my two little girls and myself I'm truly surprised at the ignorance of some "people" (word used loosely). If you're going to argue a point, at least try to do it intelligently, without using foolish, unrelated examples, and completely incorrect assumptions. You do nothing more than make yourself look the fool. First, I'm not a reseller, and even if I was, I fail to see the point. A deal site should provide a deal better than anywhere else, and I can buy these for $0.99 each at my local corner store. Second, going back 20 years to compare prices to an almost 40% markup in a 3 month time period is just desperate, pathetic, and idiotic. Ever hear the term "apples and oranges"? Twenty years and 3 months is a huge difference. Lastly, it's clear that if taken, no one paid attention during business classes. When the economy is in this state, and consumer trust is low, retail prices usually stay consistent, or drop. There are the obvious necessary business expense increases, but never 40%, and those increases are usually specific to energy and food prices. Even if you want to bring inflation into the equation, this huge markup is disproportionate. If you're happy paying the disproportionately marked up price, than by all means do so. However, if you're going to feel brave behind your computer monitor, and pick an argument making things personal, based on my opinion of a seller's pricing, than you're just an idiot. Swooning over and kissing the @$$ of a company will accomplish nothing more than to make you look like the loser you are. My opinion of a websites pricing is based on my opinion of a websites pricing. It has nothing to do with the websites customers. I fail to comprehend why these folks with no lives feel the need to jump to the defense of a retailer who doesn't know them from Adam. You're not winning brownie points, and a disagreement with a price, is not a personal attack on you fools, so get a life, and pop a pill. As for the letter carrier above, no one's surprised you're single, and no one misunderstands the concept, except you. Additionally, you're not guaranteed the colors shown, fool. You very well get all leopard skin designs. That's the meaning of the term "randomly selected". The picture is just an example of the available designs. So, it's seems that's another concept you don't understand. Hopefully, after you've started your medication and been on it awhile, you freaks will start to understand that just because someone is bothered by increased pricing, it HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU, AND IS NOT EVEN DIRECTED TOWARD YOU. I feel sorry for people that spend so much time on the internet and in these forums, that they begin to blur the realms of the real world and the cyberworld. Snap out of it. Try to come back to reality. Losers. Again, in the future, try to remember that just because someone is not thrilled with a price increase from a retailer, it has nothing to do with you, is not an attack on you, so don't bravely hide behind your computer and needlessly and foolishly attack that person. Get a life.

So let me get this straight. Most people here believe that in just a few months, inflation is to the point where this type of mark up is justified? Just 3 or 4 months ago these were offered in a pack of 24 for $23.25 shipped, for one order. Now, if you want to get 24 of them, you have to place 3 orders and the price for the same amount shipped would be $36.97. Sorry, but not even in Mr. Rogers' land of make believe is that type of mark up justified. All other online retailers are keeping consistent pricing, so I can't see why TF can't do the same. Additionally, TF markets itself as a daily "DEAL", website. This is nowhere near the deal it was.
All that said, the fact that there are people that will pay any inflated amount for items proves P.T. Barnum was right. I need to go into the retail business. Preferably the online daily deal business.

"A Smaller Set So Everybody Can Get One"????? Gimme a break. It's a smaller set so they can charge more for less. Deals should be getting better, not worse. Instead, TF takes one of their more desirable deals, and turns it into an opportunity for greed. If they're going to break the sets up, and charge more, than they need to provide a choice of colors. At this price, including shipping, I can get the elsewhere. The worst part is that TF doesn't even allow you to buy the same amount they used to offer. They limit you to 2 orders of 8. Even if they allow other orders after that, they charge you more for shipping. You used to get 24 Cool Downz for $17.25 plus shipping. This type of practice is one of several reasons my shopping here has plummeted. If they were truly only worried about everyone getting set, they would have kept the price ratio the same. At least be honest if you're going to raise prices. Don't belittle consumers by assuming they're idiots, which is what was blatantly done here. Granted, I'll buy a good deal when I see one, but lately, at TF, that's few and far between. My GF has been asking and asking for me to pick these up again, when they're offered. Hopefully I won't get into too much trouble when I tell her I passed on principle.
