one just has to look at traffic or alexa rankings to see how much bigger woot is than TF.

and no offense to TF, i like it here. nice community, free shipping, products seem to be decent on the whole (can't say i was too excited about the cooling strips, LOL)
but in reality, TF is small potatoes compared to woot.

free shipping here at TF is awesome. (assuming i get my order in some timely manner)

but the generalization that the "shipping is awful for paying for it" is just silly.

every get anything from amazon? any other store online? shipping is a fortune. Especially for large items. $5 for shipping is a steal for big things and pretty normal for everything else compared to a lot of online stores.
i just got a tiny little $2 cord connector from amazon and they charged me $6 to ship it.

i just bought a 30 pound subwoofer from woot for $5 shipping. placed order on 3/20, delivered on 3/27.
how much would shipping that be with a normal retailer? $30? $40?
i'd say $5 is pretty good for 7 days from order to door on a 30 pound item...

oh, and i've been lucky enough to get 2 bag o' craps.
both have been full of crappy little trinket things, but it was fun. you never know what you're going to get...
