Sorry folks..but there IS no violation for shipping items in a box with a moldy odor..not a good thing to do..but when you have a warehouse full of recycled boxes...there are some bound to have a smell to them if where they got the box had a mold problem. However...this does not fall into the hazardous materials laws when it comes to shipping. The laws are for WHAT IS BEING SHIPPED that would fall into the hazardous materials guidelines....and nothing in these boxes are hazardous materials..just have a moldy odor...which of course is not good for asthma and not something I'd want to bring into my house either..but nope...no laws against shipping items in a box that smells bad.

But..thanks for the heads up on that one..I'll be sniffing my box before I bring it into the house tomorrow!

No, I was not happy with my recent Mystery Box. I detailed the reasons approximately 3 to 5 pages previously in this thread.
No, your attached coupon did not make me happier. It actually made me angrier.

More importantly, I believe that the moldy items contained in said box, and possibly the box itself, have caused me to have an allergic reaction. I started sneezing and then wheezing while testing the 48 cellphone lights, of which 1 and only 1 actually worked. The wheezing got worse when I picked up the t-shirt, which smells just like the rest of the box.

So now you've got a potential health violation on your hands. Can I open up a help ticket for that? (No, I'm not joking about the wheezing. I've already used my rescue inhaler and I'm not feeling much relief. I'm more worried about my daughter, whose asthma was already flaring due to allergies. She doesn't need exposure to any more asthma triggers, and mold and mildew are big triggers.)

Please do not call 911 on my behalf. But know that if the nasty smell doesn't dissipate from my living room by early tomorrow, I'm going to take said box somewhere and have the contents analyzed for mold and mildew. And if they test positive, then we'll go from there as I would think that there must be some kind of violation for shipping pollutants without proper notification and documentation. I never agreed to receive something that could be detrimental to my health and to the health of my asthmatic child.

nonononoooo..these are Monster Brand cables! These cost a fortune and possibly your first born if you go to Best Buy or Circuit city to buy them!

I just orderd mine!!! The last one I ordered was GREAT! I even got a Monster Brand surge protector in the box..the same one my brother just bought a few weeks earlier at Best Buy for $79! Can't wait to see what's in THIS box! There is no Junk when it comes to Monster Cables!

A week? How much are you paying these "programmers"? I assume you guys have a database and I assume that is how you added the MB999-X? coupons in the first place to each purchaser's account, or else that could not have been done overnight by hand. Simply remove that coupon and add a new one with $3.33 multiplied by how many boxes of total crap was purchased, like how you differentiated between MB999-X1,X2,X3,...Xn. Don't hold onto the money for another week from people who are actually accepting this "compensation" and using the coupons.

And another thing, these coupons should NOT expire.

We are working with the programmers for a way to combine the coupons...I am being told it might take up to a week.....but I told them to go ahead and do it asap.

Opened my 18 lb box (which tracking said delivery would be 5/1, so it came a day early!)
and was soooooooooooooooo excited when I saw the "You Got Shagged!" letter right on top! Oh, I ordered 3 boxes, btw.

And maybe it's just that the flu is totally kicking my keister, but... I'm happy - ish...

Here's what I got:

2x folding pda keyboards (going to the church's rummage sale in a couple weeks)
4x poker watches (probably going to the church's rummage sale in a couple weeks - unless I decide I want my kids playing with them - I haven't checked the batteries)
1x x-box surge protector thingie - not sure if I can use this - maybe, but, our totally modern gaming system is a Sega Genesis (yes, that's right, from the late 80's!) and I can't put it under my laptop and no room where the PC is.
48x cell phone lights - tested one, too tired and miserable to check the others - might keep a few for the kids to play with, but the rest - headed to the rummage sale.

1x Williams Sonoma Gas Grill Lighter - Happy about this - I always think of flinging them, but hesitate b/c, well, I tend to blow things up inadvertently, and somehow the thought of pouring lighter fluid just seems like an accident waiting to happen
1x Gyration Cordless Optical Mouse - very cool! Not sure what I'll do with this - we use mini-mouses in our house, but this by far was the most valuable item of the lot. At the least, I can ebay this for a what I spent on my box. So for that alone, it was worth getting shagged!
1x Phillips Camcorder bag - WOO HOO!!! This is the item that made me happiest, since I just bought a Canon minidv camcorder about 2 weeks ago, and was thinking I needed to get me one of these!

So I am happy! I can't complain, in all honesty, because I can easily get my purchase price with just the sale of the Optical Mouse!

So, thanks, Shaggy! Not the most spectacular shag I've read about, but I'm content.

That being said, I do understand the MASSIVE disappointment being expressed by other Thing Flingers. The coupon is a nice gesture... but without being shagged, I'd be done with mystery boxes as well. I have been "unhappy" with the previous mystery boxes, and waited a long time before flinging this set. I'm glad I did, stupidly for the Camcorder bag, if nothing else, lol!
