Since there are questions that keep getting posted over and over again, hopefully I can answer them here for you.

Here is a link to the official ThingFling (TF) FAQ page: http://www.thingfling.com/faq/show.rails If you check this page out, ignore the "Emails and Notifications" section. This information will be addressed below.

Ordering and Shipping
. The credit card billing address and the shipping address must be the same. If you want the item shipped to a different address, go into your PayPal account and set up a second confirmed address.
. At this time, TF does not ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, or anywhere else outside of the continental United States
. Orders can take anywhere between 4 days (if you are very lucky and you live close to NJ) to up to 4 weeks to be delivered. TF's goal is to have your item shipped within a week, but currently the time will probably be a little longer. TF started off the month with about 1700 registered users - last week they surpassed 10,000 registered users. Chaosfling has confirmed that they are a little swamped right now, but are working on getting everything shipped out and more crew members hired.
. Before ordering, you may want to look right under the "Fling me one" button at the item's condition. Sometimes the items are refurbished. This is not a big deal since they still come with the manufacturer's warrenty. Also, once in a while the item may be a shelf pull and therefore the box might be worn. If it is a shelf pull it will be listed as new (since it is) and the fact that it is a shelf pull will be listed at either the bottom of the "product info" or "product post" sections.

Emails, Notifications, Order Status:
. You will NOT get an order confirmation email after you order. This is a feature TF is working on getting running, but it does not happen yet.
. If you click on the "My Account" button on the home page, you can see all your orders and their status. If you click on the order number, you will see an invoice with the description, qty, status, and more. This is a new feature that TF just got running on Sunday. Note: If you ordered multiple items on the same day (ex. Wacky Wednesday), the order status might only change for one of the items, but most likely all the items you ordered that day will be in the same box.
. Tracking information is also under the "My Account" section. Once your order has shipped, a tracking number should appear.

Free Gifts
. There was a promotion where you got a free gift if you registered before Dec. 31, 2006. TF is still working on shipping them out. If you registered before Dec. 31, 2006, don't worry - you will get your eventually. Don't expect anything fancy. Most people got a "cybertote" which is a small hot green with yellow trim pouch on a string for carrying jump drives. If you registered after Dec. 31, 2006, don't be expecting a free gift.
. If you won a free gift for something else (ex. trivia game fiasco), you will get it. It may or may not arrive soon, but it will arrive. Kingoffling has always kept his word on here, and if he says he will send you one, you can count on it.

Contacting ThingFling
. Reasons to contact TF: wrong/broken item received, missing part of the order you received, cancel an order, etc...
. Reasons to post in the forums instead of emailing TF: does this item..., How do I..., can I get a manual (somebody will have a link), more information about an item, request an item be relisted, etc...
. If you have to contact TF, the email address is fling@thingfling.com. Only send your email once. They get tons of email daily and it may take up to a couple of weeks for them to get back to you. Again, we are back to the huge surge in members (was 1700 now over 10,000) this month. If you send more than one email, it just bogs them down even more.

king/queen - please consider making this a sticky. Also, I know you never have edited posts so far, but feel free to if I messed something up or forgot to include something.

Fantastic job Dancing

Should save some folks around here some time and frustration Brick wall

Not quite sure I agree 100% with making it a sticky though. Just a teeny bit "opinion" on a couple of things. It compliments the official thingfling FAQ pretty well. How about just *bump* it every once in a while and use the link when replying to some posts that pop up here and there.

Again........this is a fantastic post and I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to put it together Applause

p.s. however now that we have this I might not be able to do my "listen-up-ya-butt-wad" posts like this one or this one.......ahh screw it....I'll still do them when needed. I enjoy them too much Laughing and I know that some folks enjoy reading them !

*bump* and:

Frames/dual scroll bars
. If you are tired of having to deal with the dual scroll bars in the forums, this thread will tell you how to get rid of one: https://www.thingfling.c....aspx?g=posts&t=995

Nicely put together and I agree it's not really a sticky but could be used as a constant reminder. Or perhaps use some of the more factual items as a start of a sticky.

So for those who received a free gift, does it come labeled "Here is your free gift. Thanks for registering!" or something to that effect? Wink
What free gift? Over 70 Flings and counting, still no free gift!

It came in an envelope with no note (if memory serves me correctly). Just sorta figured it out. I didn't order it and it came from tf, must be my gift

Mine came with my first fling - I had ordered the rechargable batteries and they sent me a charger. I think there was a note in there. I did get one of the cybertotes as a prize from the 1st trivia game. Ahh, the 1st trivia game, only about a dozen of us there and the server didn't crash... that was fun.
