Dear ThingFling
This is an open letter giving you much props for the way you have conducted your Almost Mystery Box deals and the way you have tried to solve and resolve problems that have arisen subsequently. I purchased the $60 dollar Mystery Box. I had a smooth transaction, delivery time was ok and besides what was adverstised to be in the box I got some pretty cool stuff in addition. I posted my contents and comments in the Blog section. Also, rcvd my free gift for joining yesterday, thank you. I am a happy customer of ThingFling. Fast forward ahead 2 weeks......I saw a Mystery Box/ Bag advertised on another One Day Deal site and decided to give it a try. Here was the advertisement:
Tonight we are doing the MYSTERY S****P BAG TANGO!!! All you do is buy a S****p item. All we did? Package a crazy number of S****p gifts-- expensive gifts--gadgets, pimped out gear, flat screen TV, MP3 players... If I write more, I will have to join the Witness Protection Program. I can't join again. It's so addictive. Every item is NEW and worth more than the measly FIVE BUCKAROOS you're paying!!! Yes, we are crazy. (But that you already knew). Please don't confuse our random mystery bag for that offered by other sites, where they usually send you random crap that you'd expect to find in your kids' Happy Meal. Our New Years Resolution is to start BNC--Becoming Normal Classes. Supplies are limited... So dont wait... The early worms catch the best fish.
Folks, this was bull, there were 21 winners of those above mentioned items. What did the majority get after that?? Pokemon Game with an extra game cartridge, Sweatshirts, sweaters and corduroy pants (none of which seems to fit anyone according to the posts I've read) and skateboarder backpacks. The advertisement doesn't compare to the result eh?? Well, thats what a WHOLE lot of people are saying on that site including myself (The site has yet to comment on their forum about any of this). I will NEVER shop on that site again and my post on the site stated as such with the end of it saying "Back to ThingFling". So a word to all, be happy that these guys are savvy enough to have come up with an Almost Mystery Bag. You can't lose. Oh by the way, my Mystery Bag from that site was a 2lb pair of tan Corduroy pants with a gap tag for $45.00 bucks size 29x30!! I'm 6'3 225lbs...so go figure. Just something for GoodWill I guess. Long live ThingFling!!

Thanks for the comments. I don't mind the mentioning of other sites on our forum, but hopefully we can keep them positive.
I know the other site you are mentioning and I think they just goofed, maybe misjudged their audience a bit. I don't think they are bad guys, but just trying to figure out all the pieces of this crazy internet "puzzle" like us.

I ordered one of those bags as well. I lucked out and got the Pokemon Game. But people on those forums were really POed about the pants. And not once did I ever see the staff post on the forums.
It is really nice to have the staff post and reply to people on the forums.

But sometimes those other sites do deserve a blasting. I like the fact that you allow open discussion here in these forums, but sometimes it's hard to keep it positive when discussing deals or comparing sites. Sometimes a little criticism leads to more positive results. No site is perfect but it's the discussions of their imperfections that make the sites better. You of all people know this to be true good King. Off to fling more cash around! Keep up the good work and get an additional robot on the emails to speed things up a bit. What free gift? Over 70 Flings and counting, still no free gift!

I was in on that deal as well. My first order from them. I received the Pokemon game + extra game. It was $5 for the mystery and $5 for shipping. I find the most fun waiting for the item. Granted, the game will be OK for me because I have 2 boys that are way into Pokemon. For $5 (10) I don't expect too much. I enjoy the boxes the King issues as well. It's nice to know a little of what we are getting, but I'm in for the extras. (As was pointed out by my wife last night when we received MBV ) Keep up the good work Fling Crew, it is a lot of fun

I have to hand it to the THING FLING staff with the WACKY WEDNESDAY. I believe it was a huge success based on how slammed the server got hit. That was an enjoyable experience. One that did not break the bank.(too hard anyway) I myself purchased 10 different items yesterday.(mutiple of ea. of course) I can honestly say that 98% of what you had up was usefull and 100% worth it! I hope you guys continue with the wacky weds trend. Just for Sh#ts & Giggles....Can you guys tell us how many people joined Thing Fling yesterday? At Thing Fling, you get what you pay for... and then some! 103 Flings (not counting multiples!) and growing!

yep. they are gone. let's hope that all our credit card numbers are safe and it wasn't just some scam by organized crime to get CC numbers. Guess we know why the random crap was so...crappy--had to shoot everything out the door before shnoop closed them.

kingoffling wrote:no just moving thier hosting !!! well, they should have a better plan that just the host park site. It's tough to do business when you don't open the store and if you are going to close for the day, a sign in the window helps explain things..... Anyway, I guess it's their show they can do what they want.
