When I try to place an order, I continue to get this message:
Code: 10554 - Description: This transaction cannot be processed.
I double check all my information and it still doesn't work. What's going on?

I am receiving the following error: Code: 10417 - Description: The transaction cannot complete successfully. Instruct the customer to use an alternative payment method. I am trying to ship to my work address with an instant transfer from my bank account. I have done this on a couple of previous boxes. Not sure what the problem is. Please help

I finally got my order to go through, but I had to use my home shipping address. King-PLEASE ... ... .... allow us to have an alternate address shipping. Thanks!

This one is: The transaction was declined because of a merchant risk filter for AVS. Specifically, the merchant has set to decline transaction when the AVS returned a no match (AVS = N)

AVS is address verification system. So you need to ship to the address that is registered in your paypal account. I think you can add more addresses in your paypal account, but you have to wait for a snail mail from paypal to verify it.
Or if your primary address in paypal is not verified, then you need to start the process and most likely use a different payment method. Just my two cents from dealing with verification schemes.

Billing and shipping address must be the same. Too many fraudsters out there for us to change this. The way around this is to have your credo\it card company set the alternate address up on thier system. I do this with amex, I do not know about oyther credit card companies though.

King, You are just about the only online retailer who does not allow for alternate shipping addresses. It CAN be done and you should set your system up to allow it. Another retailer that I use requires you to fill out a form and sign it, then fax the form to them for the address verification.

True other retailers allow you to do that, but I see the easier fix is to setup an alt address with the credit card company. That way you only have to do it once. Not for each retailer. Plus it is better and safer for the retailer because they get discounts for all verification tests that they perform and if the credit card company says it is a valid shipping address, then it is the credit card company that has to do something about it.

SGOCKEN...are you a Thing Fling employee or just inserting your two cents?
I understand the point that the credit card company is a one stop fix. I'm just trying to say that 99.9 percent of the online shopping I do allows me to send my purchases to another address besides the billing address. I just don't like the idea of my purchases just being dropped off on my front porch and sit there, outside, unsecured for hours on end waiting for me to get home at the end of the day. And, another thing, if my purchase is a gift for a friend or family and I want it shipped directly to them, I should be allowed to do just that. But, the way you say is "easier", if I choose to send a purchase to 10 different friends and family, am I expected to list all of those people's addresses with my bank as alternates?
Think long and hard ThingFling...not allowing a separate shipping address could be a deal breaker for some and cause them to shop elsewhere.

Just my 2 cents. This is how I have handled it for years. I always have my work address on file so I can ship there. And normally I don't ship directly to anyone else. I understand that you can have it shipped somewhere else, but forcing someone to fax in paper work is dated and annoying. And at the places that I had to do that, they made me do it every time. So since then I have used the one stop shop.

Please noe that I hear your frustration, but I don't have a good solution yet ...... We will keep working on it, and it is a shame that a small group of idiots ruin it for everyone else by being scammers. I will keep working on it though.

King, We appreciate you looking out for us. I changed another card to my work address and that will help track my expenditure (as if I want to know that )

Fan3Car...... I see where you are coming from. It can be a bit frustrating I agree that most online retailers allow different addresses to be used. But I do still come across quite a few here and there that don't have this "function" available. I think its safe to assume that there are alot of things/ideas in ThingFling's pipelines, and I think its also safe to assume that this is one of the things.....at least hopefully it is. But until it happens about the only thing you can do is what others have suggested. Add an address to either a credit card or PayPal. I heard a while back that PayPal has a new thing where if you add an address to your bank account there is a way where they can "auto-confirm" and verify it, might want to poke around PayPal a bit to see how to do this. It sounds like this might be the fastest and (possibly the easiest) way to add an address. If at first you don't succeed.......don't attempt skydiving
Never argue with the ignorant.......they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Is there a problem shipping the 3.0 MP digital cameras you offered last Friday? A week later, and the order in My Account still says "printed", while other orders made since then have shipped. Order Id: 3828 Order Date: 1/5/2007 11:20:19 AM Status: Printed Any info would be appreciated! More than 70 Things Flung, and counting. (well, actually, I lost count a long time ago!)
