Got my mystery item card reader. Nice card reader even if it doesn't take HD cards. Unfortunately there was no USB cable so I could atually use it. Shock

So Just to be clear... The card reader you received did not have a USB connector connected on about a 1"- 1.5" wire.?? Correct me please, anyone, if I am wrong... They did not come with separate usb cables, or at least mine didn't. Just a little 1"-1.5" usb connector that is part of the card reader itself. YMMV

As far as I know mine was just the card reader. nothing more. The way the person who opened it didn't even mention the usual "don't forget to review us" paper.
Just couldn't resist

Well folks, I don't know if we all received the same product, so I'll start by saying that the toy I received was a GE USB 2.0 - 19 in 1 Card Reader in an oval blister pack. The unit included a 6 foot USB cable and two instruction booklets, English and Spanish.

The unit has a model number of 98780 Rev 2; it carries the GE brand, licensed by Thompson Inc to the Jasco Products Co. (www.jascoproducts.com).

So based on the description above, of a unit with an attached 1 to 1.5 inch cable, I don't think we all got the same toy in the mystery box.

I haven't tested my toy yet, but as a freebie, I can't complain. The unit doesn't handle the NEW "HC"type cards - but that's why it's being dumped.

Hope this helps,

a.

Glad to see everyone has been getting a decent item for there $6. I just used my coupons form it today but I am still waiting for my item. It has been at my local post office since the 7th. Usually when it says it arrived in the morning I get it that day. But still nothing. I have been thinking of going there with the tracking no. to see if it can be found.

Also, never heard of being shagged until I poked my head into these forums. Pretty cool to find out since I have been ordering for a while now.

FedEx was taking FOREVER to deliver my shipment. Finally, I arrived home from work and was greeted by a box. I got the card reader too. Not sure that I have a use for it at the moment but with the coupons I don't regret springing a measly $4.99 on a Mystery Item.

The really excited news is that for the first time I GOT SHAGGED!!!!!
My extra items:
1. Pack of 10 CD & DVD cases.
2. Gold plated coaxial cable.
3. A Mobility USB PC security lock.
4. 4 solar power garden lights. (A gift for my parents!)

and the most exciting of all....

5. A Spongebob Squarepants PS2 game controller!!!

Thanks ThingFling!!

Congrats DiveMaster! I was also shagged for the first time. Guess we both lost our shag cherries on this purchase. Laughing

I am quite happy with my little card reader. I do have at least four other card readers for sd cards, but I'm only sure I could locate one of them d'oh!

I handed over the prize, though. It fits perfectly in the pocket of the family laptop bag. Despite being a family laptop, it travels exclusively with my hubby. Sad That's okay, though. When I pointed it out, he put together another computer to use as a jukebox -- which is the only reason we got the laptop to begin with Very Happy

I just love Flinging just for the fun of it. The mystery boxes just add to the excitement and anticipation. Nice to see others so happy. If you are too advanced for the items you get, pawn them off on others who might be able to use it. Donate to church tag sale, the fun is in the Shopping for the Kill, not in using the product that you get!

...never been shagged...........Brick wall
65 Flings!!! and counting

In a small Texas town, a new bar/tavern started a building to open up their business. The local Baptist church started a campaign of petitions and prayers to block the bar from opening.

Work progressed, however right up till the week before opening, when a lightning strike hit the bar and it burned to the ground.

The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, till the bar owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means. The church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise in its reply to the court.

As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork. At the hearing he commented, "I don't know how I'm going to decide this, but as it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that doesn't."

Every morning to cheer myself up, I create a computer file and name it Barack Obama. Then I move it into the recycling bin and hit empty the recycling bin...the computer always leaves his fate in my hands by asking.....
DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GET RID OF BARACK OBAMA?
I firmly click yes and smile

Laughing Yeah, his signature line is totally inappropriate. There's a time and a place for that stuff and this is neither the time nor the place.

Not to mention fundamentally incorrect and ridiculous. But hey, politics aren't what this site is about... Laughing

Yeah, I got the card reader too... a "little too ambitious"-packaged so-called "19 in 1" Flash media drive that's really just the typical 4-in-1. It's all good though - I needed one to replace my bulky, aging CompUSA brand drive that feels like it's going to fall apart in my hands. This one is pretty well built Wink

Small problem I had, though... I only seem to have ended up with one coupon code for $3 off instead of $6 (or 2 $3's)... that's really got me kinda ticked, since that was really the only reason I Flung this mystery item (i'm really short on cash!). Sigh! What's up with that?

I also got the card reader, no usb cord though. But not having the usb cord is not a biggie, have some extras laying around somewhere.

The real issue is - I did NOT get any discount coupons or codes or whatever for the 2 x $3.00 ($6.00 total) that were supposed to be with the fling.

Hoping that someone at thingfling is monitoring this and jumps in to help out.

No extras (shagging??) included.

I have ordered from thingfling since not receiving the discount coupons, trusting thingfling to take care of the missing discount coupons somewhere along the line.

My coupons appeared in my account under My Flings soon after I ordered. I do not remember exactly what the code was but it was 2X the code. When I used it the first time it switched to 1X. If you can not see the code in your account, I would open a help ticket. I have had problems resolved pretty quick this way.

Interesting. It looked like "2X" was part of the code, and it was only showed once. It would be much more intuitive if either a) they would separate the "2X" from the code (and capitalize it as "2x " with a space).

Either that or just give one $6 discount like I was looking for... *facepalm*

Ah well, certainly can't complain about such a great deal on a USB card drive.
