What is odd about the actor that portrayed Luca Brasi in the Godfather movie?

He was in real life a gangster, and although he portrayed the supposed only person Don Corleone was fearful of, and in the books his character feared nothing and no one (other than the one that had no fear of him, which would be the one which would kill him - which he was ever fearful of meeting) he was so scared meeting Brando during filming that his nervousness had to be written in as part of the character.

By the way, a hamlet is a village without a church.

For over 600 years, this was the official language of England (Great Britain). Name it.

French. I had a French teacher in high school who loved to share these little facts, and I guess they actually sunk in. She loved to make us watch her ice skating competition videos, and I have been unable to burn that image out of my head also.

Since this one made everyone quiet, I'll go ahead and give the answer. Then someone else can start up a new question. Smile

Jim "Catfish" Hunter...Oakland...1968. For anyone curious, a "perfect game" is when the pitcher not only pitches a no-hitter but also has no batter get on base because of a walk or the batter is hit by the ball. No batter can get on base because of an error either.

I have that little bit of knowledged taking up brain cells thanks to my grandfather.

Next question please....Pray

To answer the city in the US with the most annual rainfall: Hilo, Hawaii 128 in/yr.

The best place for pizza in the US? : Can't be proven either way. As far as cities go, some say NY, some say Chicago.... who knows?

Survey says.... HILO! Incredibly rainy. Very lush, though.

Best Pizza is probably NY because it was the original.

The best pizza is in New York. Not the city but the state. My vote is for this little place in Castile, NY. But since that's pretty subjective that's just my vote.

My guess for the miliary question asked previously would be the Air Force.

Where does the word "laser" come from?

Kenerg - need a lot of definitions here - A) define computer, are we talking in the traditional sense or will a simple calculator (which in itself is a simple computer) suffice - or are we talking computer in the non-traditional sense? B) define portable C) prototype or in production?

My answer based on your question as posed without further definition would be:

a person.

The first computers were people! That is, electronic computers (and the earlier mechanical computers) were given this name because they performed the work that had previously been assigned to people. "Computer" was originally a job title: it was used to describe those human beings (predominantly women) whose job it was to perform the repetitive calculations required to compute such things as navigational tables, tide charts, and planetary positions for astronomical almanacs.

Assuming they were ambulatory and not in a iron lung - of course, in which case, I guess they would be "rollable" and still somewhat portable.

Ugh, had to look it up. I only had Roosevelt. "Franklin D. Roosevelt, Gerald Ford, and William Clinton were the only children of their parents' marriages. However, Ford and Clinton grew up with younger half-brothers from their mothers' second marriages, and Roosevelt had an older half-brother from his father's first marriage." -www.hwwilson.com/Print/factspres.cfm

What is the part of your body called that is located under your nose and above your top lip?
