Keep flying insects away from you whether you are outdoors or indoors. The MO-EL Insectivoro is effective against insects and safe for the the environment & human beings. Designed for areas of maximum hygiene standards.
Insectivoro's revolutionary & unique way to eradicate flying insects. A powerful lamp attracts the insect, and then the suction from the soft-bladed fan creates a 'Vortex' effect, sucking them into the trap. It can be left running day & night with 10 -12 meter coverage.

Not the exact model for sale here, but seems to be popular in Latin American countries. Video: http://www.dailymotion.c...r-moel-insectivoro_tech
Appears to be an excellent deal compared to pricing on this site: http://www.fly-control-s...es.com/insectivoro1.htm
The concept seems to be right... just not sure how difficult it will be to replace the bulb. Found replacement bulbs here for about $11 each. http://www.mosquito-zapp...oto_replacement_bulb.htm

$11 for replacement bulb seems kinda pricey. I wonder how long the bulb might last. Is this just for indoors?

I'm new to TF. How come they limited the quantity to 2. It's probably cheaper to buy a couple of extras rather than pay for a new bulb+shipping.

The specs say the bulb lasts for 5000 hours (or 2-3 years if used 4-5 hours every night). I'm not sure how effective something like this would be, though. 10 meters is only about 33 feet. It might work if you were having a relaxing evening on the back porch, but you'd need a bunch of these all over the place if you were having a party and wanted to keep the bugs away.

The reason they limit you to only 2 per order, is so that if you want more, you will have to pay $10.00 in shipping instead of $6.00. This is how it has been since they went from FREE SHIPPING, (which is what attracted me to TF in the first place) to a $10.00 shipping per day policy. I used to buy a LOT and OFTEN when they had FREE shipping. Since they added the $10.00 per day shipping charges, I have been VERY picky about the products I choose to buy here at TF. TF says that they used to add the shipping charges into the price of the items when they offered FREE shipping. Looking back, I cannot see any evidence to support that statement, since the prices were NOT $10.00 higher per item, that I bought and they have since re-offered, previous to them charging for Shipping, in my experience. So I am comparing apples to apples, I am only talking about items I bought when shipping was FREE. compared to the EXACT SAME items that were posted for sale with the new $10.00 per day shipping policy. Now don't get me wrong. I still get some FANTASTIC deals here on TF, and I recommend it to all of my friends and associates. It is just that the FANTASTIC deals are fewer now that they were previously, IMO and experience. Enjoy shopping here at TF. Has anyone ever actually used one of these things?? If so, how well does it work? I'm also curious how it is to clean/empty it out. Are the bugs simply caught in there and then die, or are they killed instantly by cutting, squishing, etc.? I really wouldn't look forward to wiping up bug guts.......yuck. Also, is the bulb a UV bulb?? Can it damage your eyes? It doesn't look as though it's covered safely if it is. Lastly, has anyone seen these sold in the US? I'm curious why all the language on the box is foreign.

I'm curious why all the language on the box is foreign. I have two of these now (from the last time they sold them) and I really like them. They are effective, especially for moths, but for flies as well. I haven't used it outdoors but I imagine that it would be effective for many other flying bugs including mosquitos. You do have to check it often to empty out the little container. It does NOT cut or squish the bugs, it just traps them and they die stuck in the little drawer. I believe the bulb is florescent and it IS bright! I would think that you would be able to find replacements locally that aren't $11. I believe the language on the box is foreign because they are made in or marketed mainly in latin america. Approaching 75 things flung and breathlessly awaiting a shagging!

This thing will NOT work for mosquitoes. They are not attracted to UV light like most other flying bugs, but instead are attracted to heat and CO2.

Interesting, considering that there is a LARGE pic of a mosquito on the box this comes in. lol Plus the info in one of the links above lists mosquitos as one of the insects it attracts and kills. Someone asked about the light source and one of the links above contained this info: UV-A LAMPS Low pressure mercury vapor lamps, made of a tubular glass covering containing two electrodes with fluorescent internal coating. The lamps produce emissions in the ultraviolet field between 300 and 400 nm with a peak at 365 nm Approaching 75 things flung and breathlessly awaiting a shagging!
