I got these a while ago as part of a mystery box. They work in as much as you flip the little switch, and the extraneous noise is reduced. You still pick up people speaking and the like however. They do have great sound for the price, and one AAA battery lasts quite a while. On a sort of side note, they can fit a fairly large dome if you're cursed with one like I am...

No used headphones for me. I also dislike how TF compares their price of $3.99 (used) to other places prices of $22 (new ones, I checked) . If TF wants to compare prices, they really should compare prices of items in the same condition.
