Im going to go mess around with over 135 cell phone lights now.
Yet you're here anyways....

you wrote---- I still have to congratulate those of you who went for this mystery box, you have more money and more guts than I have. [/quote] ---end quote--- well, not sure if indeed I have any more money than you, or guts, even. BUT I too thought that TF would treat it's big spender's so much better, so I flung. Wrong, don't want what I got, gifts now. If it had been a color IPod, fine, but stuff to go with items that we don't have? That's kinda like giving free tattoos away, or year's free smokes, great for some, not so for so many others. I spent my hard earned money and yes, I have something of value, which I am going to unload at a graduation party as a gift, but I don't figure I got my money's worth.
Shame, seems like more than I are now going to cut back on the MB, so they didn't do much but shoot themselves in the FOOT!!
ps. Looked all over to see what getting shagged is, can't find it, but it sounded like a good thing?? (But yet here, what would you call this what we got?)

Time to vent what a bunch of garbage - not the fling, but the shipping method used - signed delivery only , i away on tuesday, now today is the 3rd attempt and since i called fedex this am, they will "try" to pull the item off the truck. if they dont it goes back to the shipper. if they do, i have to drive 35miles to go and try to pick it up - way to go thingfling, signed delivery only next time, why dont you make that an option instead of a blanket policy.

Exactly. I'm missing my third attempt today... not even in the freaking state and my parents who are home don't know what to do. This was really an important little mistake, not to tell us that "direct signature" would be required. When it gets returned to you, I'm calling shenanigans.

I'm probably going to miss my 3rd delivery attempt today too, as I don';t get home until 6.15, and they tried at 4pm and 11am so far, the previous 2 days If it gets returned I hope they give a refund...$123 is a lot for something that got sent back...lol
Flings so far :67 - Total Amount spent at Thingfling so far : $935.31 - Yikes !!!!

You do know that FedEx holds your package at their local location for 7 days following their third attempt. Yes, you actually have to drive somewhere and pick it up, but that is the price you pay for having a real job....

I left a note, but generally, for those in the sticks, or folks with a job that prevents them from being home, FEDEX home delivery is a bad deal. Mine comes from 45 miles away. I shouldn't have to drive that far in case I miss delivery. I understand with the dollar amount of the items, that signature is a method of security; however, under the circumstances, I'd be really annoyed to pay 20 bucks to drive to the nearest fedex delivery point to pick up a package that offered free shipping. I respectfully suggest that the signature thing be an option next time. r

THis signing for it thing is ridiculous. I called FedEX and they told me I CANT ask them to hold it until they have tried to deliver it 3 times. WTF?

I was told since this was FedEX HOME DELIVERY, that it would NOT be at their local FedEX location, but some other location. SHe didnt really give me any other details as she told me I had to wait until it had been attempted for delivery all three times before they would hold it.

I did not want to add to this particular discussion because I did not buy this MB so I don't feel like I have an educated opinion without personally seeing the items... BUT... I saw the $400 Shnoop mystery box, but I never saw what people received in it. I was curious if Qisgod (or anyone else) had any details. Funny how each time I went to the Shnoop forum, I never saw any posts under that "deal". Just nosey and wondering what people received...

This was really an important little mistake, not to tell us that "direct signature" would be required. When it gets returned to you, I'm calling shenanigans. I came home from work yesterday to the FedEx "door hanger" informing me about the attempt to deliver during the day, however a couple of things: 1. The option was there on the door hanger for me to sign if I wanted them to leave the package on the 2nd delivery attempt - I just needed to sign the door hanger where indicated, and hang it on my door today - they said they would accept that. 2. I called all the FedEx places locally, and they were not informative at all. I called the 1.800 number on the door hanger and spoke with someone who arranged delivery for me when I would be at home - yes, they can arrange the delivery to be performed on a Saturday! A pain in the behind? Sure. But I don't live in the sticks and didn't want my package left on my doorstep for hours on end for anyone to just walk up and grab either.

Fedex recently messed up and mis- delivered my package to my neighbour(who stole it) and ThingFling took care of it.
I wouldn't be too harsh on them they come through in the end.

I wouldn't be too harsh on them they come through in the end. Excellent point there. It may be a hassle having signature required, but with signature required the worst that will happen is fedex sends it back to TF from too many missed delivery attempts, and TF eats the shipping cost and refunds you back your $123.45. Think of the opposite worst case for the other scenario: TF doesn't require shipping, fedex leaves a $123.45 box on your stoop, and someone steals it. Then how happy would you be? TF might possibly fix the situation for you, but by no means would it be their responsibility to do so. So if they do send a replacement they're out merchandise/profit, or if they do nothing you're simply out $123.45, it'd surely be nice if we could optionally select sig required or not to best suit our situation, but this probably is the best option for TF's sake for such a pricey box.

I only read about one person's haul: 1 invicta womens diamond watch .75 ctw 1 Mont Blanc Cuff Links Platinum Plated 3 Reebok NFL Jerseys Chicago Bears 72 L'Oreal Lip Liners (yes, 72 haha) 40 Lee Boxer Shorts 12 Stanley Blacker Dress Shirts I'm sure someone will come along and say, "well that is worth more than $400." No comment to those people.

Out on the town wearing a pair of boxer shorts, dress shirt with jersey on top, sporting the bling of the diamond watch and cuff links, and dolled up in 72 different lip liners. Bell of the ball, I would say.

Got mine the other day and it was the same as everyone else's. Sounds like I was lucky to be home for the fedex guy! I liked the mb but I was hoping for my first shagging. No such luck. I have a 4 and 5 year old that thought the big, empty box that I bought them was the best. Thanks TF!

I think you are missing the point. I have no problem signing for the box to be left - it makes it my decision and my responsibility - after all - I know my neighborhood and comfort level based on what the box is worth - the fling gang doesn't. It's my decision and my responsibility - if I signed up for it and the 80+ year old lady that lives next store snuck over and grabbed, it's on me. Not TF and not Fed-ex. Sure, it's a pain to drive and get the box at a fed-ex location (and fed-ex ground is a another company Fed-ex bough a few years ago - I forget who? RPS? ) Anyway, it's not run like (or in my opinion anywhere near as well as) the "original" fed-ex overnight - they are trying to be more of a competitor for UPS. My local Fed-ex overnight office is 10 minutes away. The Ground delivery location would be an hour round-trip. I thought about giving up my job, but then I wouldn't have any money with to gamble on "mystery" boxes containing something that would make be happy. The bottom line is I have no problem with requiring a signature. This "direct" signature was just a dirty trick to pull on somebody (who did actually buy one of the most expensive things TF has offered) without any warning or other options. It almost makes me forget my light sensors that I ordered in JUNE still haven't arrived. Apparently, the post office can take 2 weeks or more to get a package less than 30 miles. (I could have walked to TF, picked it up and walked home in less time - of course that's if I didn't have a day job!
