People would have seen how much it was selling for elsewhere and said "wow, there must be some other cool stuff going in" AMBs rule--then you know what you are getting into, a least a little but in this case, $123.45 full mystery-- you fling it you wing it...yadayada stuck with it for better or worse (unless it's defective, in which case the royal court should take care of you as they have in the past) (for the record, I did not fling this one...trying to stick to a tighter budget for fun stuff) Totally agree. I think we should all know what's our budget. In my case, it's $10 of gamble-ability. If they are offering AMB with known item that I need that's worth $X for me, then I can and will get it if the AMB is no more than $ X + 10. For a complete MB, then I can buy it only if it's less than $10 (which happened a few times, some of which are great and others are OK. Gamble is gamble, you either win or lose). If you gamble and lose, you can only curse on your own bad luck and not complain it's not fair.

Glad I learned my lesson last time.
However, for a limited time only, I am willing to trade three poker watches for the DC inverter (for only $6 shipping). And when you think it couldn't get any better, I'll throw in 48 bonus products to use on your cell phone!!! 48! And, I'll throw in shipping for all those items. UPS is going to have a field day with this. MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN!!!
And wait! Thats not all! I would love to tell you what else I have in store, but I don't want to give you keyboard envy!!! If you are on the brink of technology, you will wonder how you lived withouts these fabulous keyboards. I'll throw 2 of them at you. The best part is that they are portable and can be taken anywhere. SHIPPING INCLUDED!!!
But I'm just getting started. I have 8 packs of mystery goo that can cure all that breaks you. BETTER THAN SNAKE OIL. DON'T LET THIS OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME SLIP THROUGH YOUR FINGERS!!!
All this can be yours in exchange for a DC power invertor (tax, tag, title, shipping, handling, signing, shipping insurance not included). Due to the nature of these items, no refunds can be honored.
What have you got to lose?!?!
IT'S ME!!! IT'S NOT A MISSED APPOINTMENT -- IT'S A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!

Well.. I finally got mine today after 11 days or so. Serious disappointment. I got the xm radio thing, the ipod video thing, the philips remote, a thingfling fan, and a REALLY REALLY crappy pair of headphones. The fan is cool. I can't use the ipod video thing or the xm thing. The remote is not needed as I already have a harmony remote. I would have liked to have used the headphones as backups to my sennheiser hd 580s... but seriously! They are the worst headphones I have ever heard in my life. The ones that came with my ipod shuffle are much better. At least I can use the adapter for the 3.5mm.
Seriously disappointed. It appears that everyone was right when they said that the MB weren't worth it. Oh well.. hit or miss. I suppose I missed this time.

I know you're upset, but would it kill ya to keep the language a bit cleaner? It's great that TF doesn't censor the forums - for the most part, I think it's great. But geez.....

Also, it means your local fedex is incompetent, not TF. Once it leaves the warehouse, TF has little to do with it. Unemployed (Student) and addicted. Shagged 1 time on 7/8/08 15 flings so far(only 1 MB missed and 1 opt out since signing up)

But, hypothetically, if I bought this MB, I could definitely see myself using almost all of those items inside the box- the XM radio thingie as I have XM radio, the ipod video thing, even the PDA or camera bag. So, I guess, what I am trying to say is it is anyway a mystery box- you never know what is insde. sometimes you get something you like , sometimes or many times you don't. so if anybody wants to get rid off the ipod thingie- you can send it to me, and I will take it happily ^_^

I, like many many others, got my same box today and am quite disappointed. I was not expecting a thousand dollars in stuff, just stuff that was usable. They built up grand images of a really nice box, and then threw in two mediocre electronic items and some broken headphones. How crappy.
Like others, I am not complaining or whining - just stating my opinion. I realize that this was a MYSTERY box and it could have contained $10 in stuff. I'm just saying that TF doesn't get my business any more. I literally cannot use any item (except for the headphones - if they weren't broken.....).
My gamble, my loss. Oh well.
Good luck fellow TF'ers!

I got mine. I do have an iPod to use with the big item. Have gotten XM speakers and one of those remotes in other boxes, don't have an XM radios, but maybe ThingFling is telling me I should go get one. haha. My headphones look fine, have not tried them out yet. Looove the ThingFling fan! I don't feel that ThingFling promised any more than exactly what they delivered and I am not sorry that I flung this box. I AM al ittle sorry that I have been getting duplicates of things I have already gotten, and have been wondering if I have come to the end of the road as a regular flinger. I hope not. I haven't even been shagged yet!! Melody

ALL TF said was "high end". In the context of the items they typically offer - these were exactly what was offered. It was all of the dozens of posts in the forums that got people worked up. I personally have no use for quite a bit of thier high end stuff (Though I would POUNCE if they found more of the Acoustic Research MediaBridges - awesome unit) - there are quite a few people who do. It's actually pretty decent stuff as closeouts go...

I would just like, like so many others, one single standalone item. I don't care if it's an el-cheapo 1GB Sansa and then the iPod dock and that's the whole box. Just something that goes together, not accessories.

Yes, thank you - that was the point I was trying to make as well. I have a decent MP3 player (not IPOD), a brand new Garmin, and a good digital camera. I'm a techie - I buy most toys I see that I want, which I assume the majority of people on this site also do. The point was that for the price of the box they could easily have included items of one of these genres with a cheap accessory or two and still made money off of it. Then everybody would have a box that was actually usable by itself without having to already have purchased something else. If they didn't want it because they already had a better one, or just didn't want it that's fine - they can always get rid of it one way or another. But we should be presented with an expensive MB that is useless without other toys. That's okay for a cheapo one, but not for something 3-4x the cost of a normal MB. Nobody goes into these expecting to sell the items for more then they cost. But we do expect to get a return on our investment that's at least equal to the cost. In this case I do not believe the return is good given the current going rates for the stuff online. 7 A/MB and 1 'standard'
I've Flung $377.39

I have all of the above and was hoping for something that was more stand-alone'ish as well. Let's see out of this box I can use the fan.. which really doesn't blow any air and the remote if I needed it, that's it. Alright. I am going to light those crappy headphones on fire now.

In this case I do not believe the return is good given the current going rates for the stuff online. If you are looking for a return on an investment you are barking up the wrong tree. ThingFling is a CLOSEOUT site that deals with a mix of items. They have a decent sized warehouse because the SAME items keep cycling throught over and over. They are NOT going to have Sansa - they'll have Ilo MP3s with Wal-mart clearance tags on them. I picked up a case of the FM earphones that were slathered in K-mart clearance tags. I'm not putting them down - please I buy stuff from them all the time. If you are familiar with the site you know what items they will be selling and can possibly guess about MBs. It's like with Woot - next Woot-Off I can guarantee they will have plenty of Sansas, Kodak printers, Polaroid cameras, etc. That's the merchandise they typically get. ThingFling gets lots of closeout stuff that DIDN'T sell well at retail or was "refurb". I use the quotes because a Philips phone I picked up still had data in the caller ID. Expect a return on stocks or real estate. Don't expect to get a return on a car. Buy a new PC and it's obsolete in 6 months. Expect to get some cool stuff from ThingFling at really low prices and great service to boot. The only thing they stated on this MB was that it was high end. I looked back at the high end stuff they had been cycling through and saw nothing that I needed. I would have thought differently if they had specifically stated that it was an item they had never had before...

The InMotion 8.5 video display and speakers, though designed for IPOD, works with any device that can output through composite cables or (for audio only) through any device with a headphone or line out. (what audio/video device in the last 20 yrs. doesn't.) This device is a stand alone device (well at least can take input from almost anything, even digital cameras and other mp3 players.). My kids love this thing and have hooked up everything from an old portable dvd player to and xbox to it. As far as the XM speakers Now have two to get rid of and they are useless unless there is a way you could use them with anything other than a small selection of xm radios.

The darn thing weighs about 15lbs. Not something that I would exactly take everywhere with me when I want good sound. I'm just saying, this thing really isn't stand-alone
