Received same as OP. Headphones broken as well and are not fixable. At first I thought they were broken during shipping because the box looked as if it had been tossed around a good bit and the padding was nothing more than loose bubble wrap around them but it appears most are broken. They must have been broken before going into the box.

“Brand new retailed packaged high end items just waiting for you. Plus will throw in a couple of little things. We think that you will really enjoy this Mystery Box …” What a crock of carp I fell for. I have to say how deeply disappointed I am in this whole MB. First of all, I am still processing… I live about 45 minutes from Keasby, it should not be taking this long, I ordered it 9 days ago!!! The other thing is, not one of these items is a “stand alone” item… meaning it needs something else (like an iPod or XM radio) for it to function. For this type of money, it should be something I can use by itself. iPod video is a total waste… who wants to watch it on such a small screen, OH, that’s right now I have an 8.5 in screen to see it on… Whoopty Freaking Do!!! In this case... SIZE REALLY DOES MATTER! XM has merged w/ Sirius so that is a dying breed. I already have the remote from a previous MB. So, unless I am shagged, I consider this an almost useless MB. I will not even be able to sell the stuff on ebay because by the time I get it, everyone else who bought one will already have theirs listed. Oh, and no one is buying theirs either because it’s crap no one else can use either! I will have to think long and hard before I jump on the MB bandwagon again. Well I just received my MB a few minutes ago and got the same basic contents as everyone else: 1 thingfling light up personal fan 1 pair of studio headphones, unbranded 1 altec lansing powered audio xm3120 stereo speakers for use with xm satellite receivers 1 philips prestigo universal remote - sru9600 1 altec lansing digital mini theater for ipod imv712 You will note that I did not get a PDa cover or camera bag and my headphones are intact I admit that I do not have the Ipod specific to the main item for this deal, but overall it seems to be worth what I paid and more. I have XM Radio and will now look for a portable to fit the new speakers...can always use another set of headphones and will give the fan to one of my employees (we spend a lot of time in in the field in our cars with the engines turned off so a mini fan is a valued item . As for the the Universal Remote that will make a fine present for someone {if I don't use it myself } and the ipod mini theatre will make a nice present for someone or maybe I will donate it to a charity raffle. My point here is that although this MB was not what I would have specifically asked for it was still well worth what I paid and more! Yes it would be nice if the Royal Court could send out MB's that made everyone giddy with contentment but then again it would be nice to pay $1.25 a gallon for gas too! Obviously, neither of these things are ever going to happen but overall Thing Fling has never done anything to let me down. Wish I could say the same for the oil companies I buy my gas from! Thanks Royal Court another job well done!

Received mine in Northern California today (7/15). Same basic stuff as others. All new and unbroken.
Thing Fling Personal Fan Generic Headphones Philips SRU9600 Prestigo Universal Remote (With a price sticker of $49.99 from E.E.I.) Altec Lansing XM3120 Stereo XMRadio Speakers Altec Lansing inMotion iMV712 Digital Mini-Theater for iPod
I feel the same as others. Although the items are worth the price paid, they are useless to me.
After too many TF MBs, I think I am through with the ones at this site. Way too many repeats and iPod/XM specific products. I am still willing to partake in the AMBs, if they ever go back to those on a regular basis.

Are you really going to hook a DVD player up to this rather large box to watch a video? The whole setup would be a Rube Goldberg affair - all to watch a 8.5" screen. Why not just spend $70 or so for a low-end portable DVD player with a 7" screen. THAT is truly portable...

Here is what I got:
1 Thingfling light up personal fan 1 Xantrex xpower pocket inverter 100 1 Pair of studio headphones, unbranded and usable 1 Altec lansing powered audio xm3120 stereo speakers for use with xm satellite receivers 1 Philips prestigo universal remote - sru9600 1 Altec lansing digital mini theater for ipod imv712
Overall I am happy with my purchase because I can use the mini theater as an alarm clock, which I have been needing a long time. That alone is worth the purchase price. The pair of studio headset is starting to sound better. It probably needs a break in period. The universal remote is very useful to me because I haven't been able to justify the price to get the hormony one.
Also the mini theater works with more than just the ipod but it is designed for the ipod so I think that is a very good product that TF put in the mystery box.
Even though some people might have some items from earlier MBs look at the bright side...the msrp value about 5 times the price you paid. =]
Thank you Royal Court...I am a happy camper.

Sure it's a nice unit, but unless you have a video i-Pod, you are either forced to be "creative" and jury rig up something to make it usable OR sell/gift it. The 8.5" screen isn't particulary large so it isn't useful unless you are sitting close. Overall - the sales of these docking type devices aren't particularly robust according to the CEA which could account why they end up as closeouts so quickly.
I really hope that the folks that got them are pleased with them. I sat this MB out because I had a feeling it would be something along the lines as to what was actually shipped. If I need an accessory for a device I'll buy it. I I'm not going to wait and see if I can snag what I need in a MB from ThingFling or Woot...
Well what other inputs do you need? It's standard Def I'm sure, so the only relevant inputs you're missing is Coax and component and component would probably be a waste anyway. I don't find plugging in universally standard audio and video cables to be jury rigging. Sure it'd still be for niche uses, such as on the kitchen counter top, on the nightstand, rigged up in the car, travel, etc. But that would still be so even if you did have a video ipod. 8.5" is not large by TV/monitor standards no, but for a portable device, that is quite large. I really was hoping for HDMI (grin)... I agree with you - simply connecting cables is not a big deal. But I think that the average kitchen counter or bedside table would end up looking a tad cluttered with the "mini theater" hooked up to a tuner box or DVD player. Nothing wrong with that approach but it isn't a "sleek" concept. I really have a hard time with the logic on a device like this though.. Most folks with the need for in-car entertainent already have either on-board DVD or a portable player. As for the kitchen or bedroom - most people already have a tv in such a location with a hookup to cable. It then becomes more of a discussion about the need to watch downloaded-to-an-iPod video on a large screen. That to me is somewhat of a contradiction - the whole concept of getting it on the iPod was to watch it on the go. Follow the logic - I download a video to my iPod so I can hook it up to a large docking station to watch it on a 8.5" screen. In a 300 sq ft studio I can see the logic... Maybe this is then why the overall sales of such docking systems are so sluggush. Its a great high-level concept, but in practial terms isn't really needed.

I'm kind of bemused how quite a few people are needing to justify this box by saying that the "retail value is way more than you paid". Would anyone like to buy a propane space heater for $35?? There's one hanging in my big garage that I have never used. It's definitely worth a lot more than $35 - but unless you have a real need for it - it's actually worthless. Sure - I could sell it to someone who could then try to resell it. Is it really worth the effort? And as for the idea of gifting stuff out? I've never been of the mind to unload stuff on folks hoping they can use it. How nice would it be for a Muze owner to get an iPod accessory. Looks like you really care...
I'm not being critical of TF here. The items they shipped are definitely very nice. The problem I think is people's expectations were skewed. TF didn't say "high end items that we've never carried before" or "a brand we normally don't sell". People just started imagining GPS devices or flat panel tvs and got carried away...
$125 is a lot to drop on an unknown commodity. I dare say that most people wouldn't go to a restaurant and tell the waiter to just bring them $125 of thier best menu items....

Ah well, I certainly agree such a device is not for everyone, but the logic may carry for some situations. Say you had a video ipod to use on this mini theater. You could leave the mini theater on you desk at work, or your camper, or put it in the trunk to bring into hotels when you're traveling, and in that case you would then make nice use of this with your ipod in my opinion. Anyhow to those who don't need it and are gonna sell it, I think it might sell better on craigslist if you have troubles on the bay. The ipod video is certainly popular enough that some will want this.

Sorry Court, Gotta add my $.02 ...I buy just about anything I want.....Buying decisions are always based on emotion and then justified by logic.....a$100+ MB is just too rich for my justification....I'll bet a hundred bucks on a hand of BlackJack, I know my odds and the reward is a known $100.00. I guess I am a poorer TFer (less thasn 200k a year). But risk tolerance for MB is about $30.... I am happy for you that can use your items and sorry for those who gambled and lost 65 Flings!!! and counting
In a small Texas town, a new bar/tavern started a building to open up their business. The local Baptist church started a campaign of petitions and prayers to block the bar from opening. Work progressed, however right up till the week before opening, when a lightning strike hit the bar and it burned to the ground. The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, till the bar owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means. The church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise in its reply to the court. As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork. At the hearing he commented, "I don't know how I'm going to decide this, but as it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that doesn't."
Every morning to cheer myself up, I create a computer file and name it Barack Obama. Then I move it into the recycling bin and hit empty the recycling bin...the computer always leaves his fate in my hands by asking..... DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GET RID OF BARACK OBAMA? I firmly click yes and smile

Just to add my 2c (about all I have left) - I am also very disappointed. Annoyed yes, but not exactly pissed since it's my fault that I bought it. I've bought half a dozen A and MB's before and been pleasantly surprised with them. I always got some accessory I had no use for, but there was always enough in the box that was useful to account for the money I spent. Not so with this box. I got all the same stuff everyone else did, except my headphones do not appear to be broken at all (I haven't tried them). They're loosely packed in a packing bag without tape to hold the bag shut - that's probably why many arrived broken. What I'm really disappointed about is that there is no single worthwhile item in this box that can be used by itself. For this much money, it's completely idiotic to think that people want only accessories. Yes, I know it's a gamble, but that's irrelevant. It's one thing to include a really low end GPS (they sell for $100 now) or a small Ipod, or something else that some people would have no use for or already have a higher end one, but everyone has the ability to use whether they want it or not. It's another thing completely to sell the most expensive MB ever and get people's hopes up and only include expensive accessories. I do not have an Ipod (I have a couple off brands but not video), and I have satellite radio in my car - not a removable unit. In the past I've always been satisified with being able to sell the products to recoup my cost. In this case I just 'might' be able to do that if I'm lucky, but it's a PITA to sell all this stuff. For all the people saying the video player is worth $160 or so, that's bull. Take a look at amazon - you can buy it brand new in the marketplace for $85. On ebay lots of them are finishing without selling, and the ones that did sell went around $70. If I'm lucky I might get $30 for the XM speakers because there's no market for them, and the Philips remote is a fairly low end one that is currently going for somewhere around $20. So, if I sell those for what they're currently going for I can just barely make up my purchase price - but in the meantime the only redeeming quality from this MB was the giveway fan. I'm used to things in these boxes adding up to much more than what I would have been able to buy them for. That's not the case this time unless TF got seriously reamed on what they paid for this stuff. MSRP is useless because after the first couple months (none of these products are brand new to the market) everyone drops their price. Don't base the value of a purchase off the price you could have paid six months ago. Remember, at thingfling it's not a deal - it's a steal! Used to think so. Not so much now. I don't think I'll ever be able to justify a MB again, and I'll have a hard time justifying an AMB. I was hooked for a little while. I guess I get to keep my money for myself for a bit now. 7 A/MB and 1 'standard'
I've Flung $377.39

Well, like most others this MB it totally useless for me. I do not have or intend to get an iPod, same for XM Radio. The remote I purchased from Thingfling last year and the headphones seem to have been broken from impact with the heavy boxes crushing them in a piece of flimsy bubble wrap, that didn't even cover them.
I know, I should have learned from the $9.99 boxes the first time. But frankly to include 'High end' items that required purchase of other items to be able to use them is, I think, rather deceptive, maybe even verging on dishonest.
So, I have learned a $123.45 lesson that will not be repeated. Sorry ThingFling, no more recommendations to friends, at least not the sort you need.

Hooray! Finally got my box. Got what everyone else did, right down to the broken headphones. I have an iPod Photo. Got it right before they released the video. Not going to purchase another iPod, so...main item, not so useful. Already have the xm radio thing, now I have 2. Nope...no use for those either. Already purchased the Univeral Remote from TF a while ago...so...not so useful. This box had potential to make many people very happy. It's cool stuff, and I am sure worth the cash. I don't have much use for any of the items...but I do like the fan. Husband wasn't too pleased with the box, but...such is life. I took a gamble on the box...cool stuff, but...not much I can use. I will try another MB again...but I'm going to have to wait a while...until I make it up to my husband. The anticipation was terrific...Thanks TF for some fun during the week.

I Got my box in it... 1 Thingfling light up personal fan (Always love these!!!) 1 Xantrex xpower pocket inverter 100 (Lost my last one from TF when a business associate saw it in my car and begged for it.) 1 Pair of studio headphones No Name (LOL, need an adapter to use them with anything but my Receiver) 1 Altec lansing powered audio xm3120 stereo speakers for use with xm satellite receivers (Now I have 2 to get rid of! does anyone know anyone who has an xm unit that fits these, or at least a way to modify them to have an input?) 1 Philips Prestigo universal remote - sru9600 (Number 3 from TF, but everyone who sees my other ones loves them, so it's gift time!) 1 Altec lansing digital mini theater for ipod imv712 (WOW, this is awesome, I don't have an IPOD, but have a pvr, xbox, dvd, etc. I'm going on a road trip with the kids in a week. Now they won't go blind!!!) Thanks TF, I always enjoy the mystery boxes. Some stuff I can use... some stuff I can't, but IMHO always worth the price of admission. Thanks Never been shagged

I can't believe so many people fell for this. But then again, a bunch of people also fell for the $400 Shnoop mystery box. It is no wonder why our economy is in such a s***hole. We put $ in the hands of idiots who don't know how to spend their money. I wonder how many people bought this box even though their house is in foreclosure or their rent is late.
MYSTERY BOXES SHOULD BE $1 A POP AND THE COMPANY SELLING IT SHOULD BE SELLING IT AT A LOSS. IF THE COMPANY THAT IS SELLING THE MB IS SELLING FOR A PROFIT, YOU WILL BE DISSAPPOINTED. GUARANTEED!
