We weren't supposed to get the biopsy results until next Monday at our appointment but our Vet just called. She got them in and knew we were anxious and decided not to wait. The tumor was Cancerous. Crying or Very sad It is called a Mast Cell Tumor. On the good side, the margins were clean. So, it seems they did get it all out. On the bad side, it is Stage 2. ( Unlike humans where there are 4 stages of Cancer there are only 3 in canines. )

That is about all we know right now. Which is not too much. From what I understand, she has about a 50% chance of surviving the next 30 weeks. That is provided there are no internal tumors we are not aware of.

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone. I hope we will have more answers next Monday.

OH NO!! And I have a million questions too!!

Can they actually remove it?? Assuming it's all nicely in one area?? Think Think There's more, but I'll wait until you hear something Monday..yikes that's a long time!!

OK...I have your address, your real name..Happy's name and picture...I'll send Happy some Reiki tonight and every night until we hear different!!

The tumor was removed already. They took it out on the 1st. When they took it out, they took about 1 inch around beyond the tumor. She is pretty sure she got it all and the biopsy confirmed this. If it grows back or another one develops, that would be terminal. Radiation can improve her chances but I won't be discussing that with her until Monday. I can make that decision once I know how great the improvement is, how uncomfortable it would be for my dog, cost etc. I know I would rather have 6 months with her feeling well than a year of suffering if it comes to that.

She is doing great now. She is back to her normal self and bouncing all around, playing with the kids and is happy as can be. I hope that lasts.

OH GOOD!! I must have mis-read your message d'oh!

Well, we'll wait until Monday then, but I'll still send her healing energies...just in case!!

I'd hate to think that I could have helped, but didn't because we thought we were out of the woods!!

IF I had known sooner about Vee's cat, Stitch, sooner than I did...I might have been able to do more!

Well, both my daughter Ryan and Happy the dog are recovering nicely from their surgeries. Here they are playing in the pool this morning and next is Happy looking like the big stud she is.

I'm SO glad they are both doing good!! Applause Applause

I wish Skynny was small enough to go in the pool like that! He LOVES to swim!! BUT...he's almost as tall as I am when he's standing upright!! Shock
