I was wondering if anyone on here has ever had to deal with Vertigo? In case you are unaware, think back to when you were a kid and you would spin around and then try to get up and run or even walk to a certain but you kept falling over....that is Vertigo.
It is truly amazing how much thiings in life get taken for granted when you can do them without even thinking. It could be something as simple as going for a walk, eating, or even not having to be on a schedule to take pills so that you can get through the day.

I don't mean to depress anyone but with a slew of other medical crap, I now get to deal with this Vertigo which makes it somewhat difficult to walk the dog, lay down or get up from a bed or just walk across a room. I have tried medications but since they don't know what causes it, they don't know how to fix it aside from "Maybe it will clear up in time". The scary thought is that some poor people have to live their entire lives this way and worse so I really have no place to bitch and moan.

I was just hoping that maybe someone knows someone who found a way to clear this up. I am currently trying to find a doctor who can help me with some exercises called "Vestibular Exercises" which I am hoping will help if I could only find a doctor around here that isn't booked up until August at the earliest.

Thanks for listening to my spewings. It does help to at least get it off your chest so you don't feel you are handling things all alone which is how it always seems to feel when you are dealing with health issues.

Have a great rest of the weekend and get out there and have some fun if you can.

I myself haven't..but I knew someone who did quite a few years ago..it turned out to be her ears throwing her equilibrium off. Have you had your ears checked?

Yeah, I went through the neurological testing with 3 different doctors and they say it is usually the fluid in the inner ear that can have crystals which weren't found, extra pressure which wasn't there, an infection which couldn't be found but went through all the anti-biotics anyway just to be safe (which always makes me nervous considering these super bugs that are created due to doctors being too willing to throw anti-biotics at everything) which is why I am kinda lost at the moment now.
I do appreciate the suggestion and input.

Suicide,
I KNOW you aren't this old but, my Grandmother has vertigo. She was prescribed some meds for it (like you, no cause other than ear fluid acting funny). She gets it a couple times every few months, takes the meds and it straightens out. I will call my mom today (it's too early in the am now) and see what the name of the meds are. Greek

When my grandmother passed away, I got the job of cleaning out the cabniets. She had some meds for dizzyness. I looked and one of the side effects was dizzyness. This post problebly won't help but just a little laugh might, cuz i thought it was funny.

Sorry I wasn't around a couple of days but it gets difficult to type between the vertigo and the medications they have been trying. I have been on all types of meds from hings like Meclizine (Anti-Vert) to Valium which really makes it even harder to pay attention and type to antibitoics like Prednizone. They did give me this stuff called Zofran which I had before for vomiting which works great but costs like $35+ per pill but when you are constantly "spewing", it tends to be worth it since it doesn't have the side effects that some of the others had on me. None of the others have been working unless you consider sleeping a cure which I don't.Smile

The doctors still have no clue so the next steps are an MRI and/or catscan to see if they can see anything in there that doesn't look like it is supposed tp be there.

Thansk again for all the input. It really does make a huge difference since it does feel like you aren't alone. I hope you are all doing well.
Talk to you all soon.

I've dealt with this for about a year now. Whenever I lean back and look up or if I lay down on my right side, the world spins. Drives me nuts. I've seen a doc about it, and pretty much told me I have to deal with it.

Same for me. I've had this for a few years, had all the brain scans, ear checks, eye tests, etc and nothing abnormal found. I tried Meclizine, but it just made me really drowsy and I couldn't function. I was also pretty much told to deal with it. It gets really annoying and sometimes embarrasing when I have to grab a wall to catch my balance, but I guess I've gotten pretty used to it.

Good luck to you suicide, I understand the frustration.

It is embarrassing. I look up at something and I look like I'm drunk stumbling around trying to catch the world around me. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I didn't get any scans or anything, just pretty much told a doctor about it during a regular visit and they checked my ears and said I was fine and it would go away. Eh?

There aren't many more annoying things than being told by a supposed medical professional that has all that schooling and sometimes a HUGE ego to go with it that "We don't know what causes this" or "It should go away with time"or the worst which is "You will have to learn to live with it".
If I were a mechanic and gave any of those answers and then sent a bill, I would be sured, shot or set on fire. Itis really sad that some people have to go through life trying to figure out how to do those little things in life like work, or drive when everything is spinning to the left or right. I won't even go into the action packed excitement when you have to stand up really fast or make a brilliant move while trying to take a shower.

Granted there are many worse things out there but when you have to bend over to puke and then get dizzy in the middle of that....let's just say that there are certian things that happen to you that you never have even considered in your life even if some of them are kinda funny wile being disgusting,

Take care all.Sick

So, I'm on the same page with you in the aggravated part!
