For all you people who a) want a nice little inexpensive camera , b) that is not disposable and c)easy to operate, here it is. At $3.99 this camera is perfect. It features focus free optics, automatic film advance and rewind, built in electronic flash, red eye reduction, and automatic DX sensor and a partridge in a pair tree. Ok, no partridge, but you get my drift. Great first camera for kids and amateurs of all age.

Results from a quick Google search -
There were originally $12.99 at Kmart, then marked down to $6 - then dropped from their online catalog. They can be found currently in some stores on the d/c rack for $3.00. Same camera - different model number because Kmart's weren't bundled the same way. The outside (case of the camera at Kmart) was / is a little different but the guts were / are the same. BTW - if you bought it online through Kmart, Kmart wanted $6.25 to ship it (slowest method).
No plans to bring them back, no great reviews, no bad reviews either - I didn't find much else on them. So, if your local Kmart or Sears Grand doesn't have one and you need one (a fixed focus 35mm non-disposable but for 4 bucks plus shipping I don't care if I lose it camera), it might be okay deal if you buy more than one . . . $ wise. I'd buy three for stocking stuffers.
Maybe someone else can find more info online. I know they made an ultra-zoom model . . .
UPC search reveals:
Philips USA J44115 35mm Automatic Camera
35mm f8.5 2-element lens with built-in lens cover Motorized film advance/rewind 3-way sensor flash with red-eye reduction Automatic DX film sensor Large viewfinder Includes carrying strap, Polaroid 400 ASA 24-exposure film and AA Energizer battery
So - IT'S A PHILIPS. I tell ya, the Court must buy every thing Philips has in overstock . .
It probably is a half decent little camera if you need one - but like I said - if you need it for what it is, and I'd buy three for the money.
You know, the funny thing is in 1985 this would have been 100 bucks . . .

Agreed. It would be nice if they refunded their postage saving back to their loyal customers hint hint 65 Flings!!! and counting
In a small Texas town, a new bar/tavern started a building to open up their business. The local Baptist church started a campaign of petitions and prayers to block the bar from opening. Work progressed, however right up till the week before opening, when a lightning strike hit the bar and it burned to the ground. The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, till the bar owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means. The church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise in its reply to the court. As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork. At the hearing he commented, "I don't know how I'm going to decide this, but as it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that doesn't."
Every morning to cheer myself up, I create a computer file and name it Barack Obama. Then I move it into the recycling bin and hit empty the recycling bin...the computer always leaves his fate in my hands by asking..... DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GET RID OF BARACK OBAMA? I firmly click yes and smile
