I can't believe this happened. You know those Croton watches in the MB's awhile back. I was so excited when I got one .. I knew exactly who was getting it, my step dad. I never have enough money around his birthday so, I was prepared. I called and told my mom, who was very grateful of the gift. All I had to do was keep it safe until the end of July. In the mean time I help someone out by letting them stay here while they got a job and settled. Everything seemed like clockwork until he disappeared. Hasn't been around. Unsual since he knows no one here. All day I've noticed little things gone.... gut feeling led me to my drawer. OMG the watch is gone! I'm so depressed. My step dad deserved that watch. I can't stop crying.. mad at myself for helping the freeloader/thief. I don't know what's worse... stealing from me, violating my personal space or the fact that I had planned on surprising my step dad. My step dad has given me more chances and help than I deserve. He finds the good in all... and my reward to him.... is just gone. I'm sick to my stomach over this. The one time I open up and help... this happens.

Wow, I am so so sorry to hear this. It really stinks when you try to be a good person, help others and they turn around and stick it to you.
Other things gone as well? Yuck! The watch was in your drawers and it disappeared? Worse yuck! I'm not surprised at your feelings, you've been violated (cleanest word I can think of for what happened). Have you called the police? Maybe they will find this person and you'll get your stuff (or at least the watch) back.
Hopefully, karma will also get the person.

I'm willing to pony up some trade stuff to get Fhener a watch for her step dad, perhaps we can find someone who doesn't really want their watch and would like to trade. We pull together and I think we can help out. Greek

But what is the exact date for the birthday? Just so people would know when to help by if they so choose. 13 Flings flung so far !!!

You guys ...I'm at a loss for words.
Let me fill you in on my step dad....
He is a man of faith... goes once a year to Guatemala to build huts for the poor families. instead of enjoying his weekends off from work, he spent the last 2 weeks rescuing and helping the families with their things. He had no boat so he walked through the 4 ft waters to the ones in need. He offered his truck to load the items pulled from the homes to his garage to hold until they could find storage. He also volunteers for Vacation Bible School, and Sunday school. (Even the nursery) Geesh when i look at that typed ... I think he needs a weekend away! Anyone work for a hotel chain? lol. There's so much more he does but, it would take all day!
I appreciate all the kindness, and support. It's hard when someone violates your space, it's even harder when it's someone you know. I'm very grateful to you all for letting me vent. I stayed up until 6am distraught. I know it's silly because it was in an MB but, it was a really great item..ya know.
Thanks all
Milky.. his bday is July 26.

Ok...so I don't work for a hotel chain but I do own a vacation villa in South Carolina. Don't know how interested he would be in a few days at the beach, but if you want some days come fall, let me know. I know it's not the watch you were hoping for but I am doing what I can at this point. PM me if you are interested. I know it's a pretty good distance to Myrtle Beach so it would be more than just a weekend if he wants.

If someone has a watch, I would contribute anything on my trade list to the cause.

Where do you live fhener? We got some massive flooding where I am too, although thankfully my house was not affected. And if all else fails and you don't get the watch, at least you can have a long list of random trade things to give him instead!!!!

That just sucks. We've helped out several friends in the past and have been lucky. Had one catch a piece of bread on fire in the oven one time and another pee (yes I said pee) in our space heater another time. I could go on and on with the stories lol. So what's the plan? ... Someone with a watch maybe post a wish list and we'll see if we can come up with the stuff on it? I have some stuff I'd be willing to chip in. I'd send you the watch we got but I gifted it already.

Most the homes are now out of water... but, are a total loss because they didn't have flood insurance. Reason being... they don't live in flood plains. Homes and lives destroyed. It breaks my heart when I drive down around those areas and a Red Cross vehicle is calling on an intercom for people to come get their hot meals. They come out of everywhere. I also see businesses with bottled water outside for free for those who were affected. You take for granted everything on a daily basis... I'm just counting my blessings.

I posted an ISO for the watch on the trade thread. Hopefully, someone who has one will respond. Then whoever wants to help, can check and see if they have anything that person has on their wish list.

I just wanted to chime in as a new person at how absolutely floored I was to read this thread and that this community is just so ...good to one another. Seriously, everyone should be proud of themselves. I was ready to reply with what I could offer to help get the watch as well but it seems there is no need now. If something changes, PM me. You all rock. Unemployed (Student) and addicted. Shagged 1 time on 7/8/08 15 flings so far(only 1 MB missed and 1 opt out since signing up)
