I did not mention the message boards of those sites because I do not post on them, but would, and if they feel the need to hide offensive or negative posts then I would question their business model as well. You see you are overlooking the fact that the fine rulers of Flindom have given their loyal subjects the right to speak freely without being quashed by over-loyal members of the community. As for the everything else forum, I address censorship wherever it occurs. As for people posting like sandeepgoel you will never quash ignorance even with moderation. Geeeeesssshhh can't we all just get along.

Your post implied that your view of doing business with them (any other DoD website) would change if there was / were active moderation in the forums of those websites you mentioned. All I was doing was pointing out the fallacy of your position by letting you know, gently, that every site you mentioned, censored - moderated - actively. From reading your postings I didn't get a feeling that to you that it mattered one bit if you personally posted, but since you do not (but have been so informed that they do) I am sure you will now question their business practices. As I am sure you will now question TF's also, as they in the past have censored posts, moderated, etc . . . I'm not trying to be overly antagonistic in this first remark, or dismiss your concerns - but I really fail to see the "logic" of your position - EVERYONE censors.

I'm not overlooking anything, and if you took a moment to read through the postings regarding moderation (doing a quick search in the forums for the word "moderation" would be a good start, or going back a bit in the Everything Else thread would help too) - IN FACT, TF publicly said they were considering active moderation in an email release AND named the person they were considering using (since this happened before you were a member I just thought I would point it out).

Further, as for the Court allowing another to quash the post of another - I doubt seriously that ANYONE is concerned with anything other than the recurring postings to wit Angel has brought to your attention in the postings previous to this. As she mentioned, it is only the baseless crap that puddles and occludes the forums that most are concerned about.

Finally, If we (you, I, or anyone) was discussing this matter using profanity or strong emotion, then I could understand your "Can't we just all get along" statement - as it is, however, since this seems to have been a nice, gentle, discussion I fail to see how we are not getting along - it is just a discussion, nothing more.

Sorry, one more thing, you might want to keep in mind that since TF DOES - contrary to your statement - currently moderate (albeit on a very limited level) that all this talk is simply a resurgence in discussion for active and CONSISTENT moderation that goes back for months . . . this is far from a new subject. Somehow I feel you are missing the entire spirit in which these discussions are taking place.

From what I've seen the only people who get shagged are the kissups (yes you are a kiss up, not trying to be rude or mean - just calling as I see it) And even then, chances of being shagged are slim.

But at least I've purchased MB's from TF before I complained about it.
I think it's rude for you to complain about Woot's BOC and you haven't bought one. And unless you had a bad experience purchasing whichever of Jaden's shirts you bought (Jaden's an excellent woot shirt designer, why only the one shirt?), I don't think you really have much authority to talk about Woot anyway.

First....it's not quite true that only "kiss ups" get shagged...I've been on here for well over a year..and I got shagged for the first time...LAST MONTH! There are plenty of newbies that came on here getting shagged left and right...and some that never posted here and have been around for a while..with their first post saying they got shagged...WELL BEFORE MY SHAGGING! So it's not a fact that the so called "kiss ups" are the only ones that get shagged. And as for ME being a kiss up...hardly...just because I state my opinion on people that make comments like sandeepgoel made which are not constructive, quite vulgar and just here to bash..or people that keep repeating themselves over and over and over about a mystery box that happened about two months ago..posting about this in topics that have nothing to do with that particular MB just to deter people from buying other MB's or products, which they themselves have stated that is what they are doing blatently here on the forum..that does in NO WAY make me a kiss up...I'm just telling it like it is..people like this have annoyed many other members..new and old. I myself wasn't thrilled with that particular MB and I said I wasn't over joyed over it..but after I stated that..I also figured out what to do with the stuff to make things better..and GOT OVER IT! Even Devilish had a problem with the MB...instead of bashing TF or obsessing over it by posting trash all over the forum anywhere he can fit a nasty post...he backed off the forum and came back when he felt his trust coming back...that is what a rational normal person would do...not bash the crap out of a site and hang around ranting and raving for months telling anyone that will hear them to not shop here.

As for Woot....No..I've never seen anything I wanted over there..I did not bash them..I just said they haven't had anything I wanted..as for the Bags of Crap..I didn't say I knew for a fact that you would get crap..I've only HEARD that if you don't get something great..it's crap otherwise..from people who do shop at Woot. Also..as for the T-Shirt..Jaden's T-shirt is the only one I knew about..I bought it because Jaden made it..and it's cute...but even if it wasn't cute..I would have bought it anyway because Jaden made it! Who knows..maybe one day I WILL buy something at Woot now that I'm registered...maybe not...maybe I'll buy a bag of crap if the mood hits me and I ever see one...maybe not. But I would NEVER go on Woot's boards or even here and say the things about Woot that other's have said about TF ...some of those posts were extremely vulgar and bordering on Slander! If you believe that makes me a kiss up...then you believe anyone who likes TF is a kiss up!

Explain the newbies that got shagged.

Just take my opinion as this --- I oppose censorship in any form, I risked my life to protect everyone's right to free speech and the ramblings on this forum about moderation are just childish as are the very rude cursing posters. I love TF and Woot! and selloutwoot! and orangeonion and shnoops! and lots of other sites so lets just leave it alone.

I'll be happy to leave it alone as I feel you are probably most likely incapable of having a rational discussion . . . especially after everything said previously, for you to come back with a comment such as this, my God man . . .

Trust me when I tell you that you have NO exclusivity on defending anything - MANY of us here served or still do so - and your comment will only raise the ire of others.

It isn't a PUBLIC forum - it is a PRIVATE FORUM maintained by a private business - they CURRENTLY moderate SOME things anyway (as in, they CENSOR - that for which YOU RISKED YOUR LIFE - THEY DO CURRENTLY).

As I feel you're REALLY NOT GETTING IT - yeah, I'll leave it alone.

BTW, I made it through ALL of our discussion without calling you a name, keeping my cool and having an adult discussion and allowed you all the respect another could - and you come back at me name calling - what does that say?? It says to me that you are right in line for a little moderation. (Yes, that was half joking, but hopefully you will get my point - others will).

Miss Lilly begs shamelessly for rare roast beef, but will accept a bit of turkey or ham.

For shrimp. she not only begs, but DEMANDS her share.

That said I like woot and thingfilng. I look for little things as for a lot of the electronics and such I tend to pass on them as I work for a big box store (think blue and yellow price tag) That give us employees a very very good discount on a lot of stuff and spend way too much money there .

Keep up the good work Royal Court .

Your employer used to have the BEST customer service ANYWHERE. About 10 years ago, I wouldn't shop anywhere else. I bought a laptop and a bunch of accessories from the Blue and Yellow store. Within a month the computer crashed. ( In layman's terms, the computer and hard drive could not communicate it was trash ) I had the receipt for the computer and they gave me a full refund and the amazing part was they took ALL the accessories back ( All worked fine, I just went desktop and didn't need laptop accessories at that point. ) Most of that stuff, I didn't even have the receipt for. It wasn't cheap things either. I had a little portable printer, the PCMCIA card etc. I can't remember what all is was but it was several hundred on top of the computer and they took it all back, no questions asked. Best B and M service EVER! I MADE everyone I know shop at the Blue and Yellow store. I haven't had any real problems since but in looking at their policies, I think things have changed.

My tracking just says that it shipped on the 17th and that it is 12 lbs.

My bad, I looked again and it only has package data transmitted to Fedex. So I guess it hasn't shipped yet..Sad It has no delivery date.

I love the mystery items here, and I buy other stuff too, but when you jump on 3 of a mystery item and then wait a week+ for it to ship, you start realizing what else you could have spent that money on. Since I never get emails from thingfling, I have to keep checking the status and seeing that it is not shipped yet. If they went out right away the anticipation would be kept up and I would be really looking forward to what I got. But now the excitement has passed, and if it is good stuff ok, but I will probably get shafted again with ethernet cables, vhs rewinders, and philips mp3 player accessories.

The long wait just gives me more time to contemplate why I let myself get suckered into 3 more mystery items.

At home I have boxes of mystery items that I 'could' use someday, but that someday just doesn't seem to arrive. Maybe I will start boxing them up and leaving them at the front door to find when I get home from work.

I ordered just one, it's showing up as 5.2 lbs due Friday. I also got the headphones so my brats, uh, kids'll leave mine alone. Surprisingly enough they show they're being sent USPS ... figured they'd have just stuck them in the MB Think
