You aren't the first or last person to be scared about using programs like Roboform to store sensitive information. In the end it is up to you, but I will tell you why I do not worry at all about trusting RoboForm with all my CCs, personal information, and social security number even. Roboform is a long established and I would say trusted program. They have been around for a very long time now, and no one has ever found any suspicious activity with the program itself. The information you store in Roboform is ONLY stored on your computer's hard drive, it isn't stored anywhere else. this means the only way to get to this info is either by you willingly telling roboform to fill it onto a form (so as always you've always to be cautious as you already are) or by accessing it on your computer locally--been then the information is encrypted meaning that if they just copy it off your hard drive it will be no use to them. To get to it, it must be opened with the master password you set for RoboForm--so the strength of that password is up to you. I sleep comfortably with my info in Roboform, but it is basically a speed/convenience measure, so if it gives you any pause at all, it is probably not worth doing. You can still use Roboform as just a password manager/form filler if you like.

If you feel like you might be more comfortable trusting PayPal, I recommend you do a google search for the paypal plugin... Slightly different but you'll know what I mean if you read about it.

I am ABSOLUTELY loving the PayPal plug-in . . . especially the ability to generate one time use "throw away" credit card numbers WITH CVV and or CVV2 fields . . . WOW (they "virtually" assign you a three digit code found on the back of a physical card that matches the algorithm, so no one knows you are not using a physical, plastic card). I know some banks have had the service for some time, but most have not included the CVV / CVV2 ability - I think it is AWESOME.

I have an account with PayPal....but the plug-in is different right? I don't understand the CVV/CVV2 stuff....I actually don't get any of it...LOL. Do you have a link for the plug-in?

A few weeks ago I went to the bank and got a re-loadable card that I could use to purchase stuff online but the 2 times I have tried I got denied both times. I was on the phone for forever last week trying to figure out why that was happening but I could hardly understand a word the girl was saying (I assume that was because she was taking my call from another country). Finally I just told her that I got it and hung up. I used it at the grocery store and had no problem.

Maybe this plug-in is what I need.
