What was the condition of the headphones everyone received in their MBs? The set I received was used! When I went to open the package, I found the round tamper sticker had been opened and the outside part of the headphones were scratched. It's too bad since they look great, much better than the set I'm using right now... I just can't bring myself to use second-hand headphones, that's disgusting! Who knows what the last person who used them had! The excruciating magnitude of your philosophical confabulations are simply too voluminous for the diminuity of my comprehension. 22

Oops! Sorry, TheEndless. Changed the title to make it a little more ambiguous. I'm sure you would probably have peeked anyhow The excruciating magnitude of your philosophical confabulations are simply too voluminous for the diminuity of my comprehension. 22

I just was thinking... these aren't the usual foam padding but some kind of leatherette. Does anyone know of a way to sanitize leatherette without drying it out or damaging it? Google didn't really turn up anything when I checked, but I don't know if I'm looking up the right terms... Google didn't really turn up anything when I checked, but I don't know if I'm looking up the right terms... You could probably use an alcohol wipe or something, but I would suggest putting in a help ticket first. I'm addicted

I received mine today, what tamper sticker are you referring to? I didn't see one. just the Velcro piece on the side that you use to open the package up. However, I didn't see any noticeable scratches or anything. I'm quite happy

You could try looking around on the Martha Stewart site ... I remember a decent fabric care chart on there somewhere. I'll see if I can find a link to it in a little bit ... I'm supposed to be fixing lunch. LOL

Although I don't think it'll do any good, I did submit a ticket, so we'll see what happens. However, I didn't see any noticeable scratches or anything. I'm quite happy They're like the ones on software boxes or some electronics. Just a little sticker that you can tell if it's been opened or not. I don't mind the scratches that much, just the thought of someone else using it before I would. Headphones are something I NEVER share. If someone wants me to listen to something on their headphones, I'll hold it off my head. I guess you could say I'm mildly germophobic about things I can't sanitize, like foam products and such... mwhjep wrote:You could try looking around on the Martha Stewart site ... I think I found the page you were talking about, but it looked like general cleaning tips (not sanitizing). Is that what the page you had found was about? If someone wants me to listen to something on their headphones, I'll hold it off my head. The seal stickers were already broken on mine as well. But they didn't appear to have been removed from the package. But I really can't use them anyway. The cord is too short to use with my computer. So they will be heading either to the my gift pile for a b-day or holiday gift, trade thread, or possibly ebay. lol I have actually never sold anything on ebay before but have bought quite a bit. tamashii wrote:I guess you could say I'm mildly germophobic about things I can't sanitize, like foam products and such... Quote:We are sorry to hear about the problem with your order.
Unfortunately, we are unable to process a replacement for this order, as there are no returns on MB items.
The headphones can be refurbished, as can some other items from the box (unless stated otherwise).
If you have any questions please let us know. As much as I thought. As for "refurbished" aka "used" headphones, YUCK! I guess I just have to trade or ebay them. A shame since they look super-comfy and have got good reviews........ To sanitize, I would spray with lysol. If you are worried about drying them out, some armor all or conditioner would do the trick after wards. The cord was kind of short for the pair I purchased, so I went out and grabbed a longer cord for under $5.

Hence the reason i will no longer "waste" money on a MB from TF. A dollar sure but for over $30 and what you get is what you get, i dont think so. The last MB I bought was full of items with corroded batteries that leaked acid all over the connections and TF refused to even replace them. I also got the "Unfortunately, we are unable to process a replacement for this order, as there are no returns on MB items." refurbished = establish on a new, usually improved, basis or make new or like new. Not get it from the return bin at Walmart and drop it in a box without looking at it. At least with a Bag O Crap i get a bag worth the $8 .

Thanks, but the main ingredient in Lysol is alcohol too, and Armor All says it isn't safe for prolonged skin contact? Isn't that the stuff you use on car tires? I am considering using some isopropyl alcohol followed by a skin-safe conditioner. (I didn't think of using a conditioner after sanitizing, so many thanks!) I don't mind the fact that it's "refurbished"/used, just the fact that it's a pair of headphones that's refurbished. I'm sure most people don't care (this was an excellent value for the money), but would you consider using refurbished or returned earphones if you don't know if they were used or if they were sanitized prior to resale? It's something that would be up against my head for hours at a time, potentially, and I wouldn't feel safe wearing it until I'm sure it's clean and sanitized (there goes my germophobia again ). So yes, a little disappointed with the outcome, but it's not going to stop me from buying MBs in the future. I just hope that any headphones TF sells in the future would be NEW and not used/refurbished. As for the bandolier of carrots, you must get lucky with that. Many people get a few pieces of dollar store rejects (knock-off Barbies, etc) and nothing else. At least with TF, most of the time you get a good value for what you pay. I could be wrong but wouldn't they replace the parts that come in contact with the skin during refurbishment?

Now I've just got to find one Nolvasan , a germicidal/anti microbial usually found in pet stores or in feed stores is a great way to rid germs on items(it is what the Veterinarians use on your pet pre surgical and post surgical for flushing wounds). It might be a bit expensive though, but a good thing to have around the house.
