janeey wrote:OMG!!! You guys will not believe what I just got from Thing Fling!!! The Queen must have noticed my posts saying that what I really wanted was a TF fan in my mystery box! So, I got shagged on the LOMB III, and I was really happy, but just a teensy tiny bit disappointed that there was no TF fan in there. (I really wanted a TF fan to help keep me cool during labor - I'll be having my baby in around 3 weeks!). Well, guess what I just got in the mail! It was not one, but two of the FAMOUS TF fans and a handwritten note from the Queen herself! Here's what it said: Best wishes on your upcoming "event." We at Thing Fling wish you the very best and want you to remain as cool as possible during the ordeal. Who knows - if you stare at the fan long enough maybe you'll name the child ThingFling. Once again, Good Luck. - QueenFling and The Royal Court. LOL - isn't that soooooo cool???!!!??? Okay, well, I have to say, I already have a name picked out, so unless I get totally hypnotized by the lights, I don't think we'll have a baby named ThingFling, but we may have to call her our little "TF baby" as a nickname! Anyway, I am soooo touched by this - I can't believe the wonderful interaction that the Royal Court has with their customers! You guys are the greatest! I can't wait to use my fans to keep cool (well - I must admit - that's not the only reason I can't wait - I'm so beyond ready to pop this baby out)! Again, thank you sooo much QueenFling and Royal Court!!!! Hey Janeey - first of all, congrats on the upcoming birth of your baby girl!! Second, I can't top your fortunate experience with TF, but I can certainly run neck-in-neck with ya, because I too was surprised by a nice little package from TF today. I received two fans, with a note from Queen Fling and the Royal Court wishing my dad a speedy recovery in his fight with cancer. I kid you not when I say it brought tears to my eyes. Getting "surprises" from friends and family is one thing, but receiving such a thoughtful gesture from complete strangers is more than I ever expected. Some people say TF goes "above and beyond" when it comes to customer service. But in my experience, going above and beyond is just the normal way of doing business for TF. These people have true hearts of gold..... And, because of TF's generosity, there is one little boy at the cancer center that is going to be truly excited the next time we see him. Dad saw this little boy just staring at his fan the last time he was getting his chemo infusion. Dad wanted to give it to the little boy, but he wanted to check with me first to see if it was okay, since I'm the one that gave it to dad. I was in the restroom, and by the time I returned to the infusion room, the little boy and his mother had already left. However, dad has to see the oncologist once a week, so I'm sure we will run into that little boy again. I'm taking both of the fans to dad tomorrow, and hopefully, we will see the boy at one of dad's next visits - so dad can happily hand over one of his fans. TF obviously practices the idea of "pay it forward," and we shall do the same. TF - bless you and your entire staff. You made me cry, you made an old man very happy, and you will soon be putting a gleeful smile on a sick little boy's face. THANK YOU a dozen times over..... I think there are a few angels working at TF......

And by the way, a fan for a sick child certainly tops my keeping the pregnant lady cool during labor! I hope your dad is feeling better. The Queen also sent me two fans - I'm gonna keep one (you know - kinda like a souvenir), and then see if I can leave one with the hospital staff for the next woman who comes in. Isn't TF wonderful!?!? And thanks again everyone for the best wishes! I will certainly post some pics of Aisling when she's born. I can't wait - 3 weeks to go!

Yeah, I'd love to get a picture of the little boy when dad gives him the fan, but I hate to ask his mom "hey, can I take your son's picture so I can post it on a website?" Hmm?? Probably wouldn't go over too well..... But - I can at least let you know his reaction.....I'm sure he'll be thrilled....if nothing else, it might keep his mind off his illness for a few precious moments....
