This thread is experimental, it is a pilot, a proof of concept.
This thread is for you artists and for the artists within you all.
This thread is for sharing and showing off anything and all things creative, no matter the medium. What's your creative outlet? Share it here.
Photography, art, writings, music, videos, song lyrics, T-shirt designs, anything is welcome so long as it is a creation of your own.
Even if you do not consider yourself an artist share what you like, so long as you created it. Even if you don't consider yourself a photographer you have favorite pics you took right? Maybe you wrote something creative for work or school? I's game. You have the idea now.
To make it interesting though, I am interweaving a small competition as well.
My contest will run for one week from the time and date of this posting. But the general thread submissions will last indefinitely. There are two types of submissions you see, one is towards the contest and the other is just to share and show off and entertain. You may only submit one thing into the contest, but you may submit as many general showing off submissions as you like UP TO one per day.
The winner will receive a prize from me; A
Handcrafted Genuine British Photo Album which I was fortunate to order several quantities of last night. So you'll you may have to wait till I receive my order, but as the winner you will get it as the prize, and I will cover the shipping.
Condensed rules for those with no attention span:1. My contest will run one week from the posting time of this thread. This is the allowable entry time.
2. One contest entry allowed
3. One regular submission per day though
4. When the contest closes I will post a poll somewhere so everyone can vote on the contest entries. Voting will stay open for 5 days.
5. No Plagiarizing, no stealing other peoples stuff. Everything must be YOUR creation. Copyright remains yours.
6. PG-13 please.
Whether contest portion of this thread continues after mine is over, is up to you guys--the winner of my contest OR a volunteer has the option of making a new contest. They must provide the new prize (I suggest a fling item) and must take care of the shipping it out part to the new future winner. I will provide consultations, but whoever takes the task will be the new contest runner.
If the contest portion DOES continue on after mine is over, I suggest to the new contest masters whoever they will be that they create a new thread just to make things easier. Put the week and such in the title to differentiate, you can copy and paste my rules and edit as needed. Consult with me, etc. Whoever runs the contest is ineligible for that contest, it's just fair. Okay enough rules. Be creative now
I will make the first submission in my post following this one. Edit having issues, one moment please.
GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINESFIRST LINE: If it is a contest entry write CONTEST, otherwise leave blank.

Photo/Picture/image suggested guidelines:[Contributed by Kimota--thanks Kimota!]
kimota wrote:Since the thingfling forum cuts off or adds scroll bars to larger pictures, thus interrupting the composition, recommended resolution is 640x480 (or a maximum width of 640). If your photo requires larger resolution, make a copy at the smaller resolution to post in the forum and add a link to the larger resolution.
You can make the picture itself a link with the code:

Further: If you do not have a place to host the image, I suggest you make a free account at photobucket.com, upload it there, and then paste the [img] code it gives you for accessing desired photo/image.
Suggested Video Submission guidelines:If you are hosting your video at youtube, an easy way to post it on the forum is to use the built in youtube tag.
Formated: [ youtube]video URL[/ youtube] (without the spaces in the tags.
Suggested prose/poetry/writing stuffs submission guidelines:To ensure your piece retains its proper formatting, wrap it in the code tag. [ code][/ code] (no spaces) This will ensure the forum does not strip out things such as tabs, and extra spaces.
