RRRRRROOOOAAAAARRRR I just got my apology package in the mail today. I have to say it made me smile. I got four cards, two unintelligible singing ones and two dino ones. (one might be broken, it just makes this pit.. pat...pit...pat... noise ) They are very strange cards IMO, and I doubt I'll ever use them, ( I stuck them in the same box that stores my cellphone lights) but it did make me happy to know that ThingFling is still making efforts regarding customer service. Banks = Evil I once was charged similar fees due to a cashier error at a restaurant. I was on a tight budget that month and knew exactly how much I had to work with until payday (around $100). I went out to eat with friends (around $50) and noticed that the new bartender was having trouble with their card scanner and scanned my card and punched in numbers about four times. Finally, one receipt printed out and I signed it and left without thinking anything more of it. Thinking that I still had around $50 in my account I made about six more little purchases (around $40 total) before payday rolled around. I was very concerned when my bank statement came in and showed almost a $200 difference from my ledger. I noticed that I was double charged at the restaurant and as a result all six of my little purchases had their own $30 overdraft fee attached. I called my bank (national level) and they reimbursed me the doubled item and issued a 'ticket' with the restaurant, but they told me that I'd have to contact my bank (local level) to discuss the fees. I eventually got my money back, but only after about a week and a half of harassing bank managers and waiting on processing.

Got my cards yesterday, and I must say that it's a great add-on to the coupons we already received. I was happy with my mystery boxes, but must say this was a class act. Now...if only my next order can get shagged.

tamashii wrote:Yikes! Get a credit card AVA and cap it! Your only legally liable to $50 no matter what. With a debit card, you're legally liable for EVERYTHING in the checking account, and, with overdraft protection, up to EVERYTHING in the savings account too. Banks can "opt" on how much (or little) protection they want to give you. If you overdraw, the bank's got it set up to take as much from you as possible. Mine has some ridiculous $20 overdraft fee per transaction plus daily fines to compound it... So, if I accidentally overdraw the the beginning of the month, I could have a massive bill when I get my statement in. Nah..not a fan of paying interrest! My shopping account is separate and I use the debit card with that account...it's separate from my normal accounts so I'm pretty safe there...plus it keeps me from getting out of control with my shopping..and trust me..I LOVE to shop! When I paid off my credit cards years ago..I shredded them and basically said...never again...all that interrest! yikes! Suddenly all those things on sale..weren't at the sale price anymore! So..now...debit card..like cash..no interrest!

So, I move to the couch to catch some zzzz's, and there lies Otis, snoring just as loud as hubby....I can't win.....

My chow snores. You can feel the floor shake from accross the room. It is quite impressive.

I used to have an awesome cat that snored (or purred loudly in her sleep), but my ex took her when she left.

Got my apology package sometime this week as well. I don't know when. We were on vacation (took our first cruise ever!) and the package was on my dining room table along with all of the rest of the week's mail. It was good for a laugh and it does go to show you that TF is willing to go to greater lengths than most DOD sites to keep their customers happy. Thanks, TF! The list was getting too long to continue to provide details: 25 flings flung - 14 of them mysteries - $477.69 total damage

hi there, I hacked into my Boyfriends TF account because I wanted to share how funny this was(well for me) ..he received the TF package with cards inside and said, " OH WOW! thing fling sent me a birthday card! THAT'S AWESOME!" which he believed to be true...then a few days later he posts and said I though I was special...lol it was the thread to where other TF people were sharing how they too had gotten cards in the mail..... Sorry love.
