I got the four cards and they all seem to work. I'm just waiting for the right occasions to pass them on to someone else. Thanks ThinkFling for taking care of me even when I did not feel terribly disappointed with the AMBs I received. Even though I had plenty on hand, the watches and lights have given me even more perfect "mystery gifts" for future holiday gift exchanges. I am predictable for at least the next couple years...

No way! That's gotta suck! Can't you prove that you had the money for the four and they shouldn't have charged you for all of them and just only one?

yah they do what is better for them if they get all the same day, say you have $50 in your account and make 4 purchases in 1 day #1. $10, purchase #2. $10 purchase #3. $10 and you last purchase they get that day #4 $49 they will enter #4 first because it is highest, then enter #1. now they have you for 3 over drafts instead of just 1. this has happened to me a few times.

Yeah, with so many using the debit card and the "if it ain't there I can't spend it", most of the banks have gone to overdraft privilege on the debit cards. So that no longer works and they can charge fees. You have to keep an eye on your balance.
My bank has gone a step further in a step to try and sucker people into using the overdraft. They announced that they will longer show "memo transactions" in the available balance when you query that. It used to be that if you had $100 and charged $50 with the debit, then (assuming the merchant processed it that day) your account balance would show $50 available. Now, it will still show $100. They say it is for the customer's benefit, but all it is really for is to promote the use of the "float" and entice people to overdraft. I know WAAAAAY too many people that use the "Balance Inquiry" at the ATM to determine how much money they have. Those folks are screwed.

Yes, thanks for the cards. They are kinda neat. My dinosaur one started out with a pitiful roar, but I smacked it lightly a couple of times and he started roaring like a respectable dino! I actually liked the cell phone lights, but fewer than half of mine work. I have been using them as bonus items in packages. Sorry so many were DOA! That's okay. TF keeps making up for any duds by doing some really great stuff. Keep it up, TF.

I'm kinda anal about my check book and have a "hidden fund" in there you might say...so they're never gonna get ME! HA! Now my ex-husband used to use the balance inquiry at the ATM to determine what was in the accounts....I of course took my name off of the accounts and got my own separate accounts at a different bank when I realized he was just too stupid to live! Good thing too..he was always in a mess and I was always having to bail him out and put money in his account to cover him! After a while..THAT stopped and well...all history now! yay! divorce is bliss!

Yikes! Get a credit card AVA and cap it! Your only legally liable to $50 no matter what. With a debit card, you're legally liable for EVERYTHING in the checking account, and, with overdraft protection, up to EVERYTHING in the savings account too. Banks can "opt" on how much (or little) protection they want to give you. If you overdraw, the bank's got it set up to take as much from you as possible. Mine has some ridiculous $20 overdraft fee per transaction plus daily fines to compound it... So, if I accidentally overdraw the the beginning of the month, I could have a massive bill when I get my statement in. The excruciating magnitude of your philosophical confabulations are simply too voluminous for the diminuity of my comprehension. 22
