Has anyone had any problems with the 15 minute battery charger that came in some of the $60 mystery boxes?
If you haven't opened it yet... when you put batteries in, the lights will flash quickly showing that they are fast-charging. They then switch to flashing slowly to show that the batteries are 70% full and being topped off. At the end, the battery light should be steadily on showing that the battery is full. If the light is off, it means there's a bad battery.
I popped the included batteries in and had them start charging but only 2 were charging and 2 remained dark. I thought maybe it was old and 2 of the batteries had died so didn't worry too much about it. I charged the remaining 2 batteries and popped em into an xbox controller and they showed up as 75% charged immediately were dead within maybe an hour. Ok, maybe the included batteries were all bad.
I started charging the other batteries I had and found that some of those showed up as "not working" too, even though I've been using them consistently for quite a while.
Finally, I put the 4 included batteries into another charger I had that also has individual LED lights and all 4 seemed to be charging fine.
Anyone else have any problems with the charger?

My batteries leaked, so I never got a chance to try the 15-minute charger. The free Monster charger works great though. The excruciating magnitude of your philosophical confabulations are simply too voluminous for the diminuity of my comprehension. 22

I haven't opened mine yet...are you saying the charger is no good or the batteries then? If it's the batteries..what other brand or type of batteries can be charged in here? Or if it's the charger..can the batteries be used in say....my monster charger and work ok? tamashii I love your little running kitty signature..that is way too cute!

I *think* the charger might be bad. The charger charges NIMH type batteries which are pretty common... and I think you can put any kind of NIMH battery into the 15 minute charger... but they take longer than 15 mins to charge if they're not the 15 minute type.
Ditto the other way around, I think you can put the 15 min rechargeable batteries into other NIMH chargers and they'll charge, they'll just take longer.
(Someone correct me if I'm wrong, because I've noted that eneloops specifically say that they must be charged in sanyo chargers)

So, small update... I popped the batteries into my old charger, including the ones that the new charger said were broken... and those batteries kept charging forever (ie weren't actually charging)
So...dunno if the new charger killed the batteries or just properly diagnosed them as non-working or what... anyone else have any experiences using the charger?

I just opened mine and 2 batteries went straight to a slow flash, and 2 had no lights. I will update you as I "test" them and see if I have more problems.

Yea... my husband tried to use mine the first day we got it....I thought 15 minutes charger...that's great! Then when he opened it he saw the corrosion..so he gave it a good cleaning and went for it. He got one flashing light, but no charge. I was a little disappointed but didn't mention it because... I thought they said early on that there would be no returns. I was very very disappointed... that's why I am taking a break from the mystery boxes. It is really hard though cause I like all the excitement of waiting to see what I got!! But, after spending 60.00 and the charger not working... I just need to chill on the mystery boxes for a while. And frankly, I am tired of writing tickets... never had to do that so much as now.

Yea, just remember to follow the instructions... put the batteries in, THEN plug it in. Same for when you remove them, unplug it first. It seems to read the batteries better when you do that.

so far I've managed to get 3 of my 4 batteries to charge. 2 of them I have used in my wiimote to make sure they actually charged.
