Dirty minded..... mumble mumble, when you grow up with a produce market, it's all just fruit that goes bad in different ways.

Produce was much nicer in New York...and believe it or not..cheaper! anyone in New York?? What does an artichoke cost up there now?? They're almost $3.00 each here and they're skimpy..I used to get HUGE ones in New York for around a buck a piece and when on sale...50cents each. And..don't even mention the price and looks of a cubanelle pepper here! yikes!

Farm market here means vendor selling stuff from no where near here. I'm ready to move home to Ohio ( in four years), at least there are still local farmers there. I really think most prices are based on the $4.50 a gallon diesel used to get it to you.

I love Wilmington! I assume you are in the northern SC area, are you on the coast? I'm about 4 hours driving distance to the coast a long way. I'm about 30 min to the GA border and 30 min to the NC border, if that tells you about where I am. I'm in the western upstate

If I go to the little veggie stand this one guy has set up in his driveway a couple blocks away....then I get good stuff..he said he drives all the way out to Plant City (yes..that's the town's name..ironic) on Fridays to get the stuff..otherwise in the grocery stores it's expensive and not so nice. But most of it is imported from somewhere else.

My grandparents used to have a house in Spring Hill and I would come down a couple of times a year. The highlight was going to Weeki Wachee to see the mermaids.

Weeki wachee was bought buy the state a couple months back, so now we have "Mermaids" paid for by taxes lol. Zombies are my favorite! I know what AVA looks like

I'm glad that they saved it, I know it was darn near doomed for a while. Sorry, you're paying taxes for it. It really is a treasure. I'm glad that I will be able to take my daughter there in a couple of years when we go on the big Florida trip. She loves mermaids. She will be enchanted.
