While I enjoy the company of cats, nothing beats having a dog.....or 4 dogs, in my case!! But - I will admit - the absolute coolest pet I EVER had was my pygmy goat, Sophie! She was raised with dogs from the time she was born, so she had no idea she was a goat. Funniest damn animal I've ever had. Sadly, after having her for about 3 years, the stoooopid city in which I live told me I had to get rid of her, as they considered her livestock! Whatever!!! You can only imagine how devastated I was. But luckily, we have a good friend in North Texas who had a lot of land and miniature donkeys. He took Sophie in, and they now love her as much as we did. I do miss that critter!!!

He is completely black(starting to get a little grey in his face), cant see him at night, not even his eyes. He is a very beautiful dog and I like him alot except like every other Chow I know you cannot trust him. We are planning on having him put down soon because he attacked my mom sat morning for no reason. She had to get 15 stiches in her nose and 3 in her leg. Its ashame he is so tempermental. He is an excellent guard dog.

Quit denying it! I know you've got a little desire to be a cat. Don't you lie to me... I'll make you brownies with something unpleasantly special and mix them in with Fhener's. You won't like that.

Such a sad story Henderson. Damn ordinances. I've had both cats and dogs and love them both. I currently have neither. I will be moving soon, to a house with a yard, and will likely be getting two dogs to enjoy it. If for some reason the yard thing doesn't pan out. We will be getting cats. Either way we win.

You know I think an ideal pet is one which jives well with your own personality. I have always been a bit of a reluctant loner, prefer most often to keep my own company, but Socks (my pup) I have found we suit each other perfectly. I think cats and dogs tend to have different personality types, with exceptions of course, but I think whether you're a cat person or a dog person tends to strongly reflect your own personality and dispositions. And yes it is a reflection if you like both just as much too. I have yet to meet a cat whose personality mixed well with my own.. Aside from being allergic to them, like them in theory, but lean way towards the dog preference.

scaredwitless wrote:You know I think an ideal pet is one which jives well with your own personality. True! Plus there's the whole dog person vs cat person thing..got this from a website and it's pretty much on the nose. The canine person is considered:Loyal Direct Kind Faithful Utilitarian Helpful Team Player The feline person is considered:Graceful Subtle Independent Intelligent Thoughtful Mysterious A cat person is an introvert and a dog person is an extrovert. A cat person enjoys reading, watching movies and listening to music. A dog person likes sports, adventuring and enjoying the out doors. Cat people are home bodies and dog people are outdoorsy and always on the go. Cat people enjoy a very small, select group of friends. Dog people have a large circle of people they consider themselves close to. Cat people prefer to not brag, letting their actions be noticed for themselves. Dog people love to boast and brag in order to garner attention.

Hah, sorry Ava, that sounds like something written by a cat person who fancies themself quite a bit. According to that description, I am a cat person, and I fully admit I do fancy myself quite a bit. I will agree with some of the characterization of the cat and dog personality. But not the interpretation derived and applied to the owners. G'night all!

Really? and here I was thinking that site's description for dog people was way more complimentary than cat people..It kinda made us cat people sound boring actually. dog people: Loyal Direct Kind Faithful Utilitarian Helpful Team Player what? No good? Of course this is only one website that came up when I googled...I'm sure other's have different descriptions..but I thought that said nice things about dog people. One thing I do know about all the dog people I know..which seems to be everyone I know..they're all people persons and very loyal friends.

Greek Yeah..there's a few dogs that are hypoallergenic..Schnauzers also..and they're doing all kinds of mixes with poodles to come up with non-shedding hypoallergenic dogs..my fave over all of them are the Labradoodles and Goldendoodles! They're way too cute! But...I'm partial to labs when it comes to dogs. And..a Man sized dog! Yeah..picture Taco with a teacup poodle! A Labradoodle and a Goldendoodle Here's a list of all the poodle hybrids so far. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/poodlemix.htm
My parents just got a Schnoodle..a schnauzer/poodle mix..she's too cute!
