Trinity's out for the kill! LOL Lucy has one of those screaming monkeys and she drags that thing around and slams it! I think the screaming makes her think it's alive or something.

That just made me laugh out loud!

Did you know that cats are the only animal that learn things like opening doors..etc merely by observation, trial and error and not by training? They watch how you do it and figure out how to do it themselves..not even a monkey can learn like that..scientific fact! Cats are way smart and have a longer term memory so they recall what they've seen even later on down the road, figure out how it's done and keep trying till they get it right! This is why a cat knows to PULL a door open rather than keep pawing at it and scratching like a dog does. There are a few dogs that will learn how to open a door..but it's only when they push the door...to learn to pull the door..they have to be trained and taught...never on their own. Trinity learned that the handle needs to be turned first and the door pulled...all by watching you! Cats RULE!

Wow...I never knew that. That's awesome info, thanks!

Does Trinity like to sleep in the bathroom sink?? Lucy loves the sink! Sometimes she lays there like she's in a bathtub for her size on her back and legs sprawled out one end and her head on the counter! Otherwise...she loves to curl up in there! Oddly..if I turn the water on..she loves it..and strangely..doesn't actually get wet even when the water is pouring on her for a while! She also loves when I toss toys in the bathtub with some water..she'll play with them! go figure!

Yeah, she loves sleeping in the sink! Well, my other cat does also, but she is not pleased if I turn the water on, whereas Trins loooves it. And ditto on the playing with toys in the bathtub! Does Lucy make a mess of her water bowl?

OMG, those are gorgeous! Is he crazy? What is your F2 Savannah like?

I was reading the wiki on Savannah cats (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savannah_%28cat%29) and it was weird how similar the Temperament section was to my Bengal's behavior!

OYE! Can't handle all that quote split up thing right now..sooo..I'm just going to type! Laughing

Yes cat's are extremely intellegent...kinda cool that they do learn by trial and error & observation..you just wouldn't think your cat is really watching! They watch EVERYTHING! My Angel (now waiting for me at the bridge) used to answer the phone! She never learned how to hang it up though..it was a wall phone and once it hit the floor I guess she couldn't pick it back up! but I used to come home from work and my phone would be on the floor all the time and it was starting to freak me out..couldn't figure out why...until one day the phone rang and Angel jumped up and knocked it off the hook and meowed at it! Laughing

No Lucy doesn't make a real mess with the water...it's enough with the food! Bad Grin But both of them tend to dip their paws into it and drink off of their paws..not sure if Ethel learned this from Lucy or not but it's cute to watch..They sit by the bowls and take turns dipping...Lucy prefers running tap though..I want to get them a water fountain thing..I'm thinking they would like that but I wonder about the water down here...we have alot of calcium in the water and it creates deposits and I don't know if it would clog or not. Now..Lucy really does love ICE! Whether it's in my glass or I toss it for her..but she really loves ice. I can't run the icemaker without her running in from where ever she is to wait for the shavings to spray down on her and then begs for a cube! I think she likes the way they fly across the tile..nice and fast!

Reminds me of an incident that happened to me many years ago. Growing up we had a family of 4 cats - all marmalade tabbies. One of them was simply insane for donuts. One day my mom had done some grocery shopping and in the bag was a nice box of powdered donuts, She put them away in a high cabinet and thought it was safe...

I was rudely awakened the next morning by her scolding me and asking me how I had the nerve to leave the kitchen such a mess. I told her I had no idea about what she was talking about. She said she wasn't annoyed that I ate half of the donuts, but that I got the sugar everywhere and didn't clean it up.

Downstairs there was indeed a mess in the kitchen. The box of donuts was sitting on the counter and there was powdered sugar on the counters and the black marble floor. I swore to her that I had nothing to do with it. Hmmmm.

Then I noticed that the box itself was not actually open. There was no cellophane left.
Then I noticed the teeth marks all over the box.
Then I noticed that there were kitty footprints in the sugar.
Then I noticed all the scratch marks on the cabinet where the donuts had been.

Yep - the cat had smelled them and clawed at the cabinet door untill it opened. He pulled out the box, chewed through the cellophane and had his fill. He must have been laughing his little kitty butt off when he heard me catching the blame....

But going forward we always made sure that he got a little piece anytime donuts were bought...

If we forget to put the treats in the canning jars, Miss Lilly opens the bags and she and the boys dig in!

Even when we put the bags in high cupboards, they manage to find them.

The freezer is the only place they can't open . . . yet

Nikky can open the round plastic containers, he puts a foot on the top and nudges with his nose.

Winky insists on eating his night-time treat out of my hand, he will just sit and glare at me if I don't obey!

They have us well trained.

so..did YOU break the camera! Bad Grin Kidding!

Tell her NOT to get the Sony Cyber-shot! I unfortunately "upgraded" my camera you might say...I had an Olympus but it was getting way old and wanted a new one with higher MP's..when I got my Olympus I think 3 was the highest at that time..well..years go by...my Olympus worked beautifully without any problems..but wanted a new one..gave my Olympus to my son and got me a Sony Cyber-Shot...BIG MISTAKE! It's been back to the "Geeks" twice so far and it's going back again as soon as I get some time! Pics aren't all that great either. My old Olympus was much better...I should have just bought another Olympus..but alas..the sales guy talked me into this Sony! Mad Now I don't know if I got the lemon of the bunch..but if all are like this one...not a good camera. I bought my daughter a Canon Power-shot last year and that one is a beauty! Why did I get that damn Sony!!! Mad

Is there really over 4000 entries on that topic? damn! Shock

You're so funny AVA! No, I did not break the cameraLaughing Laughing It was another friend of ours who took it on vacation to Hawaii, when she came back she kept changing the subject when the camera came up. then when she finally returned it she said that it didn't work from day one so they had to buy disposable ones for the rest of the trip. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
My Friend is one pretty sharp tack and took the Memory card out sprayed it off with canned air and put it in her computer and guess what??? Pictures of the other girl on the beach drinking tropical drinks! So the camera did work Shock until she dropped it in the water or spilled something on it!!! How rude to claim it didn't work so that she wouldn't have to repair it or replace it!!Shame on you Shame on you But "Amazingimprints" doesn't care she says it is to minor to worry about, it was only a kodak 5Mp that she's had for several years and now she has been looking at 8 & 10 MP ones, Just gives her a better reason to buy now! Dancing Dancing
I will let her know about the Sony, and have her look into the Canon Power Shot!! Thank you for the advice! Applause Applause

The sister to the "bad boy" pulled a similar stunt herself...

As a kid I had tons of tropical fish - 4 tankfuls. One tank inparticular was almost perfect. The water was always crystal clear, the plants vibrant and green... There were tons of fish as well. As time progressed, I noticed something odd. It seemed that there were less fish in the tank. I thought I was imagining things until I actually took a count. There were LESS fish!!! Over the course of a week, the numbers dropped noticable. I began to suspect that somehow the fish were getting sucked into the subsand filter. It was a mystery...

I was awakened one morning only to see sweet little Charlotte precariously perched on the edge of the fish tank. She would watch carefully and then thrust her paw in the water to grab a poor little fish on her claw and then gobble it down. I sat up in bed. She FROZE in mid grab, staring at me with the biggest eyes you could imagine...

Well, I finally plunked down the money for a hood for that tank and didn't have any more problems with missing fish. Though I did notice the cat's fur lost a little of the glossy lustre it had developed....

wow! don't you just hate it when people do that? I've learned the hard way to never lend things out if I think they're the type to not replace it if it's expensive. My camera is sacred to me..I run a business with it so if anyone screwed with it...I would be left with no choice but to kill them.

Yeah..that Canon I got my daughter is really really nice...I wish I bought one for myself..but nooooo..I let Best Buy talk me into this Sony! I was looking for a low lux camera and they said this one is best for low lighting over all others. LIES! LIES I TELL YOU! Mad I'm probably going to have to break down and just buy yet another camera and keep this one as a back up.

Now THAT had to be funny when your Charlotte got caught! How can you not laugh hysterically at her and buy her a fish of her own! Laughing

I've always wondered if tropical fish were ok for cats to eat. So they're ok?? I've thought about buying Lucy and Ethel a few "pet" guppies of their own and let them go fishing. Spear fishing at it's finest! Laughing

Hmm, I figured since Lucy seems to be as obsessed with water as Trinity is, she'd be the same with her drinking bowl. Trins just sits there pawing at her water bowl until there's none left inside. And oh! You *should* get them a water fountain...I had one a couple of years ago, and I keep meaning to get another one. Back then, it solved my problem where Trinity would sit meowing at a water faucet when she was thirsty. I had the Drinkwell water fountain that I would fill with bottled water and then I'd toss in ice cubes. The only annoying part was cleaning it...it got so gunky sometimes! They have some newer version out now...I might try that one.

And wow wlgiv, you've had some BAD CATS!! lol

Nah..but I don't keep a drinking bowl out long enough for them to make a mess..they prefer the running tap in the bathroom! Very Happy Now Ice Cubes! She's definately obsessed with Ice cubes! She loves a fast moving cube and when she hears me getting ice from the freezer she comes running! Yeah..I definately want to get them a fountain...just don't know where to put it yet. I wish they would make these things to match my decor! I COULD get them one of those big yard ones with the cherub peeing and put it in their play room! Laughing

Oh wow! That's too funny! It's amazing what a cat will do for something they really want..even risk one of their 9 lives to get to it!

Lucy's that way with bread! I don't know what it is about bread..but she loves it and will stop at nothing to get a slice! She's actually jumped up snagged the loaf in bag and all and ran off with it in her mouth...then she proceeds to tear into the plastic to slide out a slice! Laughing
