Why did you get probation?

EDIT - duh - just re-read your post and saw why you were put on probation. That's kinda dumb - been hanging at Woot for awhile, and your post is mild in comparison to most....

Ya know..I've never actually seen anything on WOOT that I must have or cheap enough to take a chance..never seen a bag of crap and I dunno...something that is referred to as crap I have a problem buying anyway. ThingFling is the only site I buy from...oh wait..I bought a mystery bag once at Yugster...now THAT was crap..except for the screaching monkey my cat tore up...that was at least entertaining to watch Laughing

I've never made a single post over on Woot, and very rarely read threads unless I am looking for info on a product I'm considering buying (which in itself Is rare as well, and the threads never prove any more informative usually) Don't like the environment there, so never bothered.

I have been watching this woot off, and haven't purchased a single thing.

The problem with woot if you ask me is that they are the rock stars of the DoTD and know it too. So they are arrogant amongst other things, in my opinion.

Rock Stars? really?? I never heard of Woot until I saw it here in the TF forum..I always thought TF was the rock stars of DOD sites! Laughing The rest of the sites have a terrible layout..not human friendly...never have anything I want or the prices aren't worth the chance...I did peek at the woot-off when someone mentioned it here and they had an ACER refurbished computer on there for 299.99! It's an ACER...can't you get those brand new for around that price?

Well we in the know, know TF is the real rock star, yes. Wink

Woot was just the very first DoTD, and so arguably they gave rise to the whole trend/fashion/culture. So... you know how that goes.

Well, to be fair to woot, I must say this.

1) They pretty much pioneered the concept.
2) When they were small enough, they had some amazing deals (read over 1.5 years ago)
3) They WERE quick to ship.... now its all gone in gutter though.
4) They have some really funny product description and maintain a good podcast.

Woot to me is I think almost on the verge of implosion...

What time of day was the post? They are more lenient late at night. I only got three hours for posting some shots of UPS girl that didn't leave a lot to the imagination - at 4:00 in the morning. I would have gotten a lot more if I had tried it during the day.

I don't spend a lot of time in their community either...except during woot-offs. THAT is a whole 'nother ballgame.

I usually purchase from Woot during the Woot Offs. I bought a coffee maker this a.m. that I desperately needed - it was $29, and I've found it elsewhere for $75+. I also bought yet another (this will be my third) bag of Fiddyment Farms pistachios. If you like pistachios, these are the BOMB!!! I tried to get a BOC this time around, but was unlucky - as usual.... The only thing I can say about the BOC is that you KNOW you are getting crap, and at $1 per bag, that's okay with me. But quite a few get lucky and get some very nice items. I've only scored the BOC one time. I got a bluetooth headset for motorcycle riders that attaches to their helmet. I paid $1 for the box, and sold the headset for $55 on Ebay. Not bad.....

Well the wootalyzer started screaming when the BOC came up, and opened the page... All I could get was "service unavailable" and "server too busy". And then came up the next item shortly thereafter. Yet another BO missed, I've never actually gotten one. I don't really care whether I get it or not, but it is entertaining to try for it.

I got a BOC in the April 1st batch. They actually shorted me the "bag" part of it, so they refunded me a dollar Razz

Same happened to me with wootalyzer on two different machines today. Both launched to a "Service Unavailable" page. Wootalyzer was a bit slow this woot off... Seemed sluggish throughout.

Got my Left Over MB to look forward to, though, so it's all good... Dancing

How can you critique anybody's website layout when you're doing this to our internet? http://www.tias.com/stores/angelsplace/

You obviously don't know too much about PCs, but I won't get into that right now,

The pistachios are the best. I missed them this wootoff. I have always faired well with my boxes of crap. A headset that attaches to MC helmets? I know I got one of those in my box here at TF. Never knew that woot had those.
