Is this worth doing when you have to find the batteries elsewhere? Can't you get chargers and batteries together just about anywhere?
I was waiting for this, but no batteries?? Tells me no deal.

And you have to get the specific brand of battery to match the charger, right?

The indivudal circuits for each battery make this better than the monster unit that comes with 4 1850 mah nimh aa cells and a flip cover. That unit charges two pairs of 2 cells in series, and is obsolete technology.

Yes You can get chargers and battery combos but you will pay much more than this.
NO any brand works but you need NiMH batteries.

I should have looked at how long this item is going to run for before ordering. I should have waited until tomorrow to order it so I could have the cheaper shipping if there is something I want tomorrow. The shipping discount reset at midnight daily is my biggest complaint with TF.

I think what you're not realizing is the average run of the mill batteries + battery charger bundle have pretty low end battery chargers (and/or low MaH ratings on the batteries).

The typical el cheapo battery charger generally charges batteries in series of pairs. So basically they normally will only have two battery charging LED indicators because two batteries have to be in a bank before it can charge. This means that both batteries get applied the same charge no matter what==even if one is only half dead while the other is dead.

THIS monster charger however is as near as I can figure, a steal at $3.33, it individually charges every battery (and has the tell tale 4 LEDs to prove it) which is a trait you typically only find on high end expensive charges. It means that no matter what you put in, a half dead battery or quarter charged battery, each battery will receive a charge appropriate to what it needs. This will prolong the lifetime of your batteries as well as provide a better charge.

Also as has been pointed out this charger should more or less work with any Ni-mh rechargeable brand. In my opinion the best rechargeable deals usually come stand alone (sans charger) and in bulk anyway.
