I have to say I'm surprised that the first MB out of the gate since that infamous one costs $60. Were it me, I would have come up with a lower-priced box to allow some of the folks who were "on the fence" a chance to give the site another chance without spending a lot of money.

Oh well, I guess the King knows what he's doing.

After the box of trash I received for $30, I can't imagine the trash one would get for $60. Woo-Hoo, lets pay them to take their trash!!! I hope you like your box of non-working crap.

After the crap I got in the 3 "homerun" mystery boxes, you want me to take another chance....Shame on you

I think I'm going to sit this one and several more out for a nice long while. Besides, woot is having a wootoff and I'll know that I'm NOT buying for poker watches...

What I don't understand is people have had so many bad experiences recently with their mystery boxes, yet people still buy them. I don't understand, I've spent over 50 bucks on complete useless junk. I guess there's a lot of people who love those lights and poker watches... I think I'm done with this site in general.

it's addiction, plain and simple. I think there are two types of people who buy lots of mystery boxes. One is the Ebay and flea market vendors who see every box as a business opportunity. The other is the adrenaline junkies who do it for the thrill. People in the latter category are thinking emotionally, not rationally, and rationa; arguments why continuing to buy might not be such a good idea won't touch them.

It's actually the second one sold since the INFAMOUS, but some of us ordered the Leftover Mystery Box Part II before we got the INFAMOUS one on the doorstep. The Part II was 59.99 too and we were impressed. It was more than worth the money, and LadyFling made the comment then that there were more like that coming. I flung one right away last night, and am hoping for some items as good as the ones in Part II.

Yeah, I saw the listings for the "Part 2." Looks like the majority of its value hinged on the watch. Some of the other stuff was nice, but not particularly high value. If there's going to be one item of overwhelming value like that, I would rather see it as an AMB. I'd have a heck of a time getting rid of a nice watch like that - the cheap sport digitals go like hotcakes, but name brand ones are viewed with considerable suspicion.

Ok I haven't said much on this issue, so here's my take on the whole thing. Whether a mystery box is $9.99 or $59.99, if it's not being bought with your money, I don't see why you care so much about anyone buying them. I think it's funny that we have so many people who have said, essentially, "I am done with TF" but keep posting on the boards! Obviously not done. It wouldn't surprise me if some of those same people buy the next mystery box!

I like cats too, but wouldn't mind seeing fewer of the off-topic or relative content-less (this includes repeating the same complaints over and over) posts in the main topics (the Everything Else forum would be a far more appropriate post). The "burying" works both ways DEATHFLAUTA ... from what I've read you've been at least as guilty of burying the actually useful posts as anyone else.
For anyone having trouble seeing past their 9.99 Infamous box, go read what people got in the last $60 Left Over MB at:
http://www.thingfling.co...stery-Box--Part-II.aspx
or "The greatest $29.99 Mystery Box" at:

True. If you are reselling they would be kinda hard to get rid of. For a father's day gift, though! Smile There were a couple of other items in that one that for me, were exactly what I needed---the 400w power inverter and the cordless phone for skype, so I felt really good about. I don't buy to resell , and usually use the good things for gifts (sometimes gag considering the "infamous"Wink so I was happy.
