there is only one thing of value - the battery charger. and this has been on TF before, if I'm not mistaken. This was supposed to be left over mb stuff - and the original mb was to have items that had not been seen before.
the linksys storage connector isn't worth anything - This is 4 year old technology that requires a network for connectivity, which is definitely not something that most folks have at home. This can't even be used as a usb hub (which only costs about $10)
Ok, I'm one of the more disgruntled when it comes to issues with a box (like the $9.99 'home run' box-o-junk) when it has no real value to anyone. But in a mystery box like this, some items DO have obvious value (the lowest price I can see on a new-in-package Linksys NSLU2 on eBay is $42 shipped...there are many lower, but all used or missing pieces), just perhaps not to you. If I hadn't paid the full price for an NSLU2, I'd jump at a chance to pick up someone's from this box (and while I can't afford a new one at normal prices, I'd jump at a chance at a cheap one!).

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope he is feeling better - and glad to know that he's found a way to make his treatments slightly more comfortable. This gives me an idea. If there are people out there who have several of these fans, but don't want them - why not think about donating them to a local hospital? In my childbirth class (I'm due in 5 weeks), they told us to pack a fan like this for labor b/c women often get very hot, and your hubby will probably get tired of fanning you with a piece of paper for hours! But they don't want you to bring a plug-in fan b/c they are afraid the cord will get in the way, or might be frayed and be a fire hazzard. I'm guessing that for the same reasons, these are perfect for the the chemotherapy patients like your father. I'm sure that a hospital would love to have a few of these to let their patients use. I'm really hoping to get one in this MB - then I won't have to buy one! And maybe after my baby is born, I'll give it to the hospital so they can pass it on to someone else who needs it.

Okay I mostly have been keeping out of the mystery box threads for sanity sake, but GUYS, if the Linksys network storage link you speak of is the NSLU222--that alone is totally worth the price of the box, TF sells those individually for $59 I think and that price is well below the average even used. The NSLU22 is awesome and well sought after by those in the know. I recommend you dig up its product thread as there is a lot of information there. It basically is a little Linux computer. IGNORE all dated reviews like the cnet review, they are all irrelevantly out of date. The firmware is upgradable and any issues from 4 years ago have been wrinkled out. ESPECIALLY if you use one of the tird party firmwares, which by the way there are several projects that catter to this device. If you are the tinkering type you'll love this thing and can get it to do many things it wasn't specifically designed for with 3rd party, which include turning it into a print server, or a web serever, and many other uses. If you don't need it? sell it on ebay you'll get more money than you paid for your mystery box. PS far gone are the days that you need to format hard drives that you connect to it. If you install the latest firmware, it can now read the typical FAT/FAT32 drives and requires no special formating (which btw is not to a proprieytary format anyway, if you did format with it it would only be to a Linux file system EXT3 I think) PS henderson! If your dad ever needs anymore fans you just let me know, so long as my stockpile of TF fans is still bountiful, I got one or two with his name on it.

WITHOUT CAUSE??? do you NOT read the forums about the crappy strikeout MB that I did buy and they sucked a$$. I have plenty of *cause* to complain and will continue to do so. I didn't buy the recent $60 MB but reading what people got, IT'S STILL CRAP. None of is even worth $60. People have a right to know what TF is selling pryan67 wrote:lass66 wrote:of course ..I'd never waste $60 on crap I will never use. a personal fan ?? c'mon are you 8 years old and sit there with a fan to your face???? and most of the contents are the same quality as $1 store products. That whole deal with selling on ebay......I just can't do it. I thought about trying to sell stuff on there once, but I got tired of reading all the fees associated with selling. It seems like by the time I sold something on there, it would cost me more than I originally paid for the item. Maybe I'll try to go back and read all that stuff.. ....otherwise, my only hope (I have no friends to sell things to) would be a garage sale.......

People know exactly what people have been getting: the products forum and Whatcha got forums have a long unaltered history of people listing what they got... Doesn't seem to be obscure information to me. What you're doing is pushing your opinion, many have agreed with you that the $9.99 box was not that great (and arguably even that is an under statement), however most seem to be disagreeing with you about your judgment of THIS box. It's fine and well of course for you to disagree about this box, but know that what you are pushing is not fact, but your opinion.

Try selling on your local craigslist, it is free to do so but you perhaps will not make as much as you might on ebay, but it depends. Of course you also have to be okay with people from your area dropping by your house/business to pick things up. You could also post anything you want to trade with on the trading thread in the everything else forum section.

Ok...now..the "crappy strikeout" MB you're talking about is the 9.99 MB..THIS is the Leftover MBIII topic..so..you are OFF topic...your comments about the so called crappy MB belongs over on THAT topic if you feel so compelled to drag it on for what seems to be an eternity now. If you didn't bother to BUY this MB..then you have nothing important to say here and noone really cares what you have to say about THIS box since you know nothing of this box and only the $9.99 box that broke your wallet! Since you feel you're such an expert on the value of the items in a box you never ordered and feel this is such CRAP to you...then don't come to this website! You apparently have no plan to shop here anymore..so what on earth are you STILL doing here? Do you not have a life? As for posting your neg comments about a mystery box that was sold weeks ago on THIS topic which has nothing to do with that box...I'm not sure how much more obvious it could possibly get..no one really gives a $hit WHAT you have to say! All you are doing is making a complete A$$ of yourself! So...just as you feel so compelled to "SAVE" us from buying crap as you stated..I feel very compelled to let you know you look like a complete fool with your rantings HERE and everywhere else about a box that was over and done with weeks ago. Get over it! WE all have!

Aw shucks - thanks Scared - if his fan craps out on him, I will certainly let you know....the LED image on the fan blades sort of puts him in a trance while he's getting his treatment - it's kinda funny to watch. Everybody else is just sitting there, getting cancer treatments, and staring at dad's fan!! LOL

The fees on ebay do suck - and they just keep going up. However, if you are thinking of selling the Linksys NSLU2 Network storage link (as I am if I get one - I wouldn't know how to use it properly), the fees will cut into your profit, but you will still be happy with what you get. You should be able to get around $40-$45 for it (I get this amount from looking at completed auctions on ebay). Here is what you would pay if you got $45 for it, and accept payment by paypal: Listing Fee: $1.00 Final Value Fee: $2.89 PayPal Fee: $2.51 Total Fees: $6.40 So, you still make $38.60 - covering well over half of the cost of this MB!!! I didn't include shipping in the calculation - I'm assuming that you would just charge what it costs you to ship. Keep in mind that paypal also takes their 4.9% out of your shipping fee, so when you list your item, you may want to increase your shipping charge by 4.9% in order to cover that extra expense.

And..I've been selling online for YEARS..and still it never occurred to me until you said that! WOW! They're getting us every possible way they can! And lets not forget eBay owns PayPal so that's just more fees for eBay! Thanks for the heads up on that!
