DAMN Mine says delivered but I'm still at work! Oh the agony... It better be all it's cracked up to be and more. I could have bought a ps3 game for this price. I only got the 10lb one. I hope there's some audio cables in there, as I happen to need some.

I got the standard stuffs...
Light blue speedo backpack, which looks like it is for a little girl.
Two personal alarms
Turkey Beer Can thing
MP3 arm/fanny pack (waistpack... you are not kidding anyone. Its a fannypack)
Shower head,
Rechargable batteries (with a massive brick of a power supply).
CD case

And!
The Linksys NSLU2 Network storage link. Affectionately known as The Slug. For those of you who are not nerds, stop reading. This is easily sellable for 40-50 bucks(it is 80 on amazon). If you are a little techy, you can attach a USB harddrive to it and have a NAS set up on the cheap. Note, that when you attach the USB drive, this will want to reformat the drive for use by the Slug. This means you will loose all your data. For those of you that are nerds, this is quite the gem. This is essentially a low power computer with an embedded linux OS. There are is a very active development community dedicated to this piece of hardware.
www.nslu2-linux.org
There are a lot of possibilities for this little machine.

I would say that all in all I am happy with my mystery box. I'm not sure I'll have the time to dedicate to the possibilities of the Slug, but I'm enjoying just considering it.

got mine today and I'm done.

there is only one thing of value - the battery charger. and this has been on TF before, if I'm not mistaken. This was supposed to be left over mb stuff - and the original mb was to have items that had not been seen before.

.. the mp3 armband can be found in any the dollar store

the linksys storage connector isn't worth anything - This is 4 year old technology that requires a network for connectivity, which is definitely not something that most folks have at home. This can't even be used as a usb hub (which only costs about $10)

btw ... cnet reviewed it on way back on: 08/13/2004! Even then it was not well thought of .. it insists on formatting any drive connected to it and it is 'as slow as molasses and is a poor solution. Not something I would ever buy - even for a buck or two. Here's the review if you care to read it:

http://reviews.cnet.com/network-storage/linksys-nslu2-network-storage/4505-3382_7-30733762.html

NEXT ..

... the backpack is screaming purple and will never see the light of day -- even my 3 year old daughter thought it was ugly.

... cd wallet and photo album that I got in a mystery box before -- ugly thing (even if it has cats on it)

... 2 window alarms that you get for free in the mail as promotions by alarm companies.

... a hand held shower nozzle that you see for about $10 at CVS (will never replace my shower massage)

... the beer can turkey thing .. may be useful but would never pay more than a buck for it.

THIS IS WHAT I GOT FOR $60 ????????

What a disgrace ... so now I've spent $60 on 6 MB's that totally sucked and everyone agrees were not worth anything ..... and now I give TF another chance to prove to me their business is here to stay and they want to satisfy their customers.

You know what they say -- fool me once - shame on you --- fool me twice -- shame on me ... I'm DEEPLY ASHAMED.

ThingFling ... YOU BLEW IT BIG TIME ... I GAVE YOU A CHANCE TO 'MAKE UP' FOR THE MB FIASCO and you just pissed it away.

Flings... Noise Canceling Headphones (use them everyday) .. Philips 6.0DECT Cordless Phone (Excellent phone - even my wife likes it!) .. 2 Phillips Web cams (gave one to my mother-in-law, but it didn't help) .. Valentine Mystery Box 3.77 (loved the fan but my guess was WAY off) .. Mystery Box .. 29.99 Mystery Box .. and finally, the number of times in the last 18 years to get Shagged by someone other than my wife (zero) .... so I'm in for another 3 chances to get shagged with the The Infamous THINGFLING Mystery Box- ! -- okay .. I've done it again and ordered another 3 !! and then I flinged the Power Sentry surge protector .. too good of a deal to pass up! ... and then yes, I'm taking a chance on letting TF redeem themselves so -- I did it again -- Leftover Mystery Box Part III. ... AND YES -- no more mystery boxes for me !!! . .. and apology accepted and thanks for the cards -- but remember that consumer confidence is difficult to restore ! ... one more Fling ... ordered 2x of the teeth whiteners ... good deals are hard to pass up !
