Provides 20 watts of light

This uniquely efficient design of the cover lite lets you add a powerful plug-in fluorescent light white still leaving both receptacle outlets open for other electrical devices. It simply plugs into and covers any standard outlet - no wiring or electrician needed and provides 20 watts of light from a mere 4 watts of energy. Perfect for task lighting in the kitchens, basements, garages, laundry rooms - anywhere you need powerful, plug-in light without sacrificing space.

This does look cool. It is the first time that it has been offered here. Something that could be a problem with this item is that it only has 2 pronged plug ins instead of the three prongs that a lot of items have these days.

True on the 2 prong versus 3 prong, but I had to have them anyway. I think they look really cool.

It looks like it would be useful in a bathroom (where most plug-ins are two pronged, anyhow), or possibly the kitchen, as a night light. Can you switch the light on and off, or is it perchance light-sensitive (i.e., only comes on in the dark)?

Per the package, it includes an "easy on/off switch."

This may sound like a silly question but ... I'm wondering if it actually plugs into two sockets or is like one of those things that turns one socket into multiple while it just happens to cover two outlets while doing it?

They were 1.99 each and it let you buy three. I couldn't resist, because I think they will make nice nightlights for the bathrooms. Still, I went back to get three more and they were gone so I am hoping they come up again too.

i am trying to order these now (05//09/2 0 0 8 - apparently zero eight gets translated to a smiley), around 5PM ET, through Google, and I keep getting "Order Cancelled - invalid coupon" even though I didn't use one.

Ugh!

I can't see much use for these, since they do not have the grounded plug, only the two prong

I'm another one who missed the first time, so I ordered three - with my coupon they were under $4 each.

I have GOT to stop this!!!

OK I'm in for three ... already have homes for two of them. I just hope that all the items I ordered today don't end up shipping in the same box as my MB. It would be really great if they wouldn't ship anything else in with the MBs, unless they're the smallish ones that come in a bag anyway. I'm all for combining items into the same box to save resources, but it leaves it open for people to feel like they've missed out on something in thier MBs to make room for thier other orders. Just my two cents on the matter.
