Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know I have done the Senso survey and gotten my Senseo coffee maker and extras (pretty quick too!). It was an easy survey to finish and for $15 shipping you can't beat it if you are thinking about buying one of these. I ended up taking pity on my hubbys coworkers and sending this in to them...the closest place to get coffee is a greasy spoon called The Beanie WeenieSick I mean seriously...would you eat ANYTHING from a place with a name like that? Anyway, just wanted you to know that the Senseo thing wasn't a scam and a pretty good deal at that! Applause Applause Greek

Do you remember what answers you provided to qualify? I completed the survey on another site months ago, and while it says I "qualified," I never heard anything more about it. Just curious, as I own a Tassimo anyway.

The survey is here:
sharesenseo.com

It is straight from Phillips who makes the Senseo, all very legit, and a great program. If selected you pay $15 for fast shipping and handling and they send you a Senseo with a bag of coffee pods, a pod storage tin, and brochures/coupons.

I've done the program before in the past. They've been doing it on and off for a few years now. The idea is to give you the machine for cheap and they hope you love it so much you recommend it to your friends. If you answer the survey with that in mind you will most assuredly be selected.

I love my Senseo, but remember coffee taste is subjective, just as many people hate the Senseo as those who love it--and the two sides will say exactly opposite statements. But for $15 I think it's worth trying out. Also: if you don't like the taste of the Senseo brand pods, try another brand before you blame the machine, there are many other brands that fit in the senseo. I like the Senseo brand but it is not everyones cup of tea(or coffee). Keep in mind even if you are not a coffee drinker, tea can be made through this machine too. It is an excellent fast water boiler if nothing else.

If you're really stumped on how to answer the survey in a way that results in being selected search out the relevant threads on fatwallet and/or slickdeals for direct hints.

Thanks, scaredwitless. Apparently they don't want to hand out free machines to people who already have competing machines, because that was the only thing I changed and this time I got the offer. Odd. i would have thought they would WANT to attract their comptitors' customers...

Does anyone know if they give a choice of colors or is it just the black one that is free?

Also...I'm curious..I drink a POT of coffee in the morning..not just a cup. Do you have to put water in it for every cup or can you fill up a resivoir for say 8-10 cups and just put the coffee in and press for more hot coffee? If I have to put water in for every cup then this won't work for me..I'm not completely awake for such activity in the morning until at least my third cup!

OH...as for the pods..you don't have to buy the actual pods for this anymore..you can use what ever coffee brand you want..look what they have so you can add your own coffee http://www.amazon.com/Co...AL-Supreme/dp/B000W79ING

I got one of these for my dad for Fathers' Day a couple of years ago. The reservoir will hold enough water for 5 cups. You can also buy an extra-large reservoir for it which will hold up to 10 cups. The coffee you need to replace every cup.

ADDENDUM: also note that Philips considers a "cup" to be 4 ounces, so if you use a 12 ounce mug, you're gonna be refilling even the large reservoir after every three cups.

Hey Ava, well if you actually do drink a pot every morning the Senseo may not be for you, or well it possibly could be, I like the taste I get from my Senseo and the faux-foama it generates is nice (which it will create on all coffee brands not just Senseo but some seem to produce it more than others)

The color you get is random I think, with black being the most common I believe. y main Senseo was purchased during a Amazon deal a few years ago, and it is a nice red.

Senseo considers one cup to be 4oz and the two cup button produces 8oz--one of the big things you hear people complain about. But the machine is basically a European import and they don't guzzle down huge mugs of coffee as Americans do. Technically you're upposed to put in two pods per each 4oz of the Senseo brand, but the other brands usually come bigger and designed for the 2 cup button from just one. and of course if you make your own pods or use one of the refillable systems you'll be good to go too.

The included and more streamlined looking water reservoir will give you like 2.5-3 uses of the 2cup button if memory serves. I bought the extra large reservoir, actually got it for Xmas, it greatly totally reduces the amount of times you need to refill, it fits the standard machines, but not quite so streamlined looking.

Debs yeah they've had different incarnations of the program. The original was a if you trade in any drip brewer they'd send you a free Senseo. Then the next incarnation it was just they'd send you a free one. Now it is $15 for shipping and handling but they include the tin storage and bag of pods which wasn't given with the previous.

Now that's a bummer..was hoping it would hold more water..and well..their idea of a cup is definately not MY idea of a cup! Laughing I just love the look of it and it would look too cool on my counter top!

Lately I've been into French Press coffee...I love my press pot...I do want to find a nice large insulated one for a reasonable price though.

I'll tell ya what I REALLY want..I want one of those coffee stations that are plumbed right into your plumbing with the filtration system and it holds all the coffee inside so I never have to make my own coffee again..just push a button and viola..coffee! I mean...just look at this baby! Drool

They're ONLY $3000.00+ do ya think Thing Fling might toss one of THESE puppies in a mystery box? Ohhhhh..to dream!

does the larger resevoir fit the pot nicely or is it taller than the pot itself?

I think it's fits the same...maybe sticks out more in the back.

Scared...I didn't get the tin, but I did get a bag of pods with mine and then I bought the adapter so I can use any coffee I want. The little filters are rather pricy though d'oh!

Ava--The original water reservoir that comes with the machines is done in the same color plastic as the machine and sits on the back flush with the surface making a solid kinda mast (if you look at pics of the machine...) The extra large reservoir comes in clearish blue, I think they hoped so it'd work for all color machines, but of course it is noticeably not exactly the same color. It fits in the same spot as the old one, not taller, but rather fatter. it bulges out slightly from the back, so it is not quite flushed with the machine like the original standard tanks.

I think if you buy the higher end models they already have larger reservoirs designed into the machine, but not for certain on that.

There are different options available for using your own ground. The Eco-pad is a reusable mesh ball/pod thing. The My pad and coffee duck (from what I remember) replace the actual aeration chamber beneath he pod holder to be filled with coffee.. Downside to that is that without the aeration chamber you don't get the faux-foama if you like that.

Me? I like the pods. I don't mind buying them, they save me money by making me go to Starbucks less, and I sure love the convenience. Smile

AVA (and anyone else interested): Looks like the link for the offer is permantley at the top of this thread. BTW...mine was blue too...the boys at work don't care what color so it works for me. Thanks for the info on the Senseo duck...gonna look into getting one as I belong to a coffee club and was kinda bummed about not being able to use the coffee from them in the machine. Greek

Just answer the questions like you DON'T own a Tassimo. They want you to get this and give out the coupons to your friends. Me...I just give the web address for the freebie to my friends Bad Grin . One of the nice things about this is it's small enough you can take it on vacation (the coffee and coffee makers in hotel rooms are usually ookie) and have a cuppa in the am. Good luck with it, you will know you passed the survey if the CC info page comes up. Dancing Dancing Greek
