O.k. folks .. heres how to get 3 things from your APC XBOX SURGE PROTECTOR which most people got from the now VERY Infamous Mystery Box If you don't have the knowledge to get all 3 items .. you should easily get 2 from this. O.k. lets open the box and take a look .. see those 2 cd trays .. REMOVE THEM !! You should get this O.k. cool ... thats the 1st 2 items you can get from this ... if you ain't gonna use the surge protector - you now have 2 portable cd protector trays - suitable for the car, suv, work e.t.c. WHOO HOOO !! OK ... the 3rd item from this is NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED ... DISCLAIMER - I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM CAUSED BE IT FIRE / ELECTRIC SHOCK E.T.C. - I Am an Electronics Engineer and do this for a living, anyone who wishes to follow these instructions should be 100% safe in what they are doing, this article is for demostration only and should ONLY be done by professionals !!! O.k. we're making a SURGE PROTECTOR ... Errm ... Yeah .. a SURGE PROTECTOR .. YES YOU HAVE ONE ... BUT IT"S HUGE !!! we're gonna cut that right down - LITERALLY ! O.k. lets start by removing the lid Next remove all screws from inside the top piece and remove the board Remove all the screws from the back panel and remove Examine the empty space on the rear left Remove the plastic piece on the far left - i used some tin snips and then tidyed up using a Dremel Just to the right we're gonna make space for some wires - i used a dremel Place the board in the left hole we created Now cut hole in the back panel to fit the LED'S and the switch. Now for the fun bit .. Hack off the entire useless bit with a saw then tidy up with either a dremel or by sanding Screw the back panel back on you will need a longer screw for the piece near the switch as this doesn't Quite go together 100% then apply electrical tape to all open and exposed areas And YEE HAA ... a much smaller surge protecter So now we have a reasonably sized surge with 2 cd cases AWESOME !!!! NOTE .. the Surge will work on ANYTHING not just the Xbox.. this was a marketing ploy ! Please notice the green LED saying its working in the last pic (yup i plugged it in !) 2nd DISCLAIMER .... I DO THIS FOR LIVING ... ELECTRICITY IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD NOT BE PLAYED WITH, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS UNLESS YOU ARE ELECTRICALLY TRAINED - DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS PERIOD .. THIS IS JUST ME SHOWING OFF AND I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYONE TRYING THIS AND CAUSING THEMSELVES OR THIER HOUSE/LOVED ONES HARM .. THINGFLING CANNOT NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AS THEY DID NOT INSTRUCT ME TO MAKE THIS POSTING !!!ADDENDUM - I forgot to mention - also in the box this came with is a nice carry case for things that can be put to a variety of use - and a little pack of 4 rubber feet - which are always useful to have handy !!

Errm yeah .... i figured someone might .. but you'd be stupid to unless you know what i know ... to be honest with you this entire post is about making lemonade from the lemons people give you
I keep seeing people bitch about how badly TF treated them .. if they only think outside the box a little .. the xbox thing has 2 perfect CD holders ... the rest of the project i do not seriously expect people to attempt .. if did take me 2 hours to do all that !
the Cell lights ... theres batteries to go in other things that people have laying about - theres LEDS for kids to make fun projects with
the watches ... remove the straps you have a couple of nice velcro strips there
the coasters ... put your own pictures over the WPT LOGO and varnish them
THERE IS A LOT THAT CAN BE DONE with the Crap from the Mystery box Peoplel just need some creativity !!

I just ordered the Monster cable box the other day. The only other cable box I ever bought was the other Monster cable box a while ago...never ordered a random one though. Have you? are the AV cables the ones with the red yellow and white ends??

My only problem with the xbox organizer is that it has a crap surge protector in it. 420 joules? That's akin to the junky ones that they periodically give away for free after rebate at Staples. I might plug an XBox into it, since they are cheap to replace. But I sure as hell wouldn't plug anything I care about into it My Dragons need your help to hatch and grow! Please click on them!

It looks like you would hide the lights somewhere and then people with GPS systems have to find them?

It's basically a high tech version of a scavenger hunt - if you leave the house and travel more than a 2 or 3 miles a day then i'm sure you've passed a geocache - people hide things in plain sight usually in an air-tight container and then leave it for other people to find with a GPS ... the hides usually have some trinkets nothing of much value in it for soemone to take should they desire it ... so thats where my light are going !

She asked me . i stuck a CD in the drive and recovered all her data for nothing ! Geek Squad know how to remove viruses and slot in new cards/drives ... not proper techs there ... though i think a couple of them might be cool .. most are not !
