ah there it is! I clicked the active topic button but it came up with nothing but a page with the icon things for new posts...etc etc..but no links to any of the forums. I'm thinking this is for when you subscribe to a topic which I never do..I hate getting emails for every post ever posted in here..if it only sent ONE email and doesn't send another one until I click that link it would be ok...but for every post..I got bombarded with emails last time I did a topic watch.

Now..I do know over in Auction Bytes (where the mall my store is in has a private forum) it will send you an email when someone posts on a topic you've posted in (no need to click watch..you just have to post and you will get the email) but it will email you once for the next post on the topic and will not send you another email until you've clicked that link to go to the topic..when you click that link..it brings you directly to that next post and not the beginning or end of the topic so you're right where you left off at. After you've clicked...when someone posts again..it will send you another email and it will do the same thing..bring you back to that post that created the alert...so since it doesn't send any more emails until you click..and 20 more posts have been posted since your email...you will go directly to the post that sent the email and you can catch up from there. It also doesn't send you an email for every post YOU did since it's knows it's you and not someone else.

I wouldn't mind getting email alerts of new posts if it worked that way..otherwise I don't subscribe to the topics since it will bury my orders in my email. It's bad enough the crazy people out there forwarding every rediculous chain email under the sun from puppies with wings to old lady fairies waving their wands of youthful bliss to me...but to get an email for every post would just throw me over the edge. I hate getting bombarded with useless emails. Why DO people do that??
