Almost all of my Lites worked out of the box with a little coaxing. Today, I noticed that both boxes have "OK" penned in blue in on the bottom corner of the box. For the people with bad Lites, are your boxes "OK" or are they marked as bad?
The excruciating magnitude of your philosophical confabulations are simply too voluminous for the diminuity of my comprehension.

As I said in one of the million threads related to this box, out of my 48, only 10 were truly dead, and that's also counting those that lit, but did so dimly/stutteringly so. Many came back to life after pumping them--rapidly press and depress the button for a couple seconds (by came back to life I mean, they weren't working but after doing this they lit brightly and without studders).

Truth be told, I think many were so disappointed that they didn't bother to spend much time with the lights before counting them as another "dead:" unit. Perhaps? Or Maybe we just got lucky with good boxes, I will have to check to see if I got the OKs later.

Also from my other post : If anyone is serious about finding replacement batteries for these lights on the cheap, dealextreme has them (cr1220_ in 5 packs for $1.96 shipped: here But if you buy 10 or more then the price drops to $1.28 shipped. Meaning that even if you needed to replace ALL batteries, you could pick up 10 5 packs for $12.80 if you were actually serious about replacing all the batteries.

Yep, read that thread. It did feel kind of ridiculous twisting and pushing on 48 of them to see if they worked Laughing

Yes a little, but I plan to hand these things out like candy--figured I'd weed out the truly dead from the get go. The problem with this box? The problem" stuff not many actually need, and even if you need it, it's never too exciting to get new lights and surge protectors. My opinion I was disappointed in that way, yes, but I don't particularly feel jipped either. Of course knowing thingfling with the volume of complaints on this box, I imagine they'll be acting to rectify it all somehow shortly.

I haven't received my boxes yet so I can't comment on the items. That being said I am cheesed that TF said that there were "3 DIFFERENT MB'S" and it seems they are all the same.
Shaggy also "recommended" getting all 3. On the thought of fixing this mess, what are they gonna do? Give us another coupon for another mystery box like last time?

Well in actuality these 15lber boxes were composed of 3 mystery boxes, 3 $9.99 each, so that is what they meant by three different boxes, but of course most of us ordered all three so it seems like just the one.

As for what they might do to appease the masses? Well I don't know, but there was one particular mystery box that I recall(it was from around the time I was new to thingfling) which had a similar negative reaction as this one. TF responded to that situation by refunding EVERYONE, complainers, contenters, and praisers alike a $5 refund on their CCs. Not saying they'll do that this time, but TF has a pretty solid history of responding to the criticism and setting things right, it will be interesting to see what they say, I'm expecting an announcement pretty soon, it seems likely.

Actually..all the stuff from previous MB's that I have no idea what it is or use for I'm going to give them out for Halloween..I just save a ton of money from not having to buy Candy this year! Very Happy

That really is a pretty good idea......when I was a kid, there was one house that would give out a can of soda as opposed to the traditional Halloween candy. We all flocked to that house, cuz they had something different to offer. Even if these lights don't work, the little ones will probably be thrilled to get something out of the ordinary.....

Yeah - if you wake up the next morning to find your house has been rolled with toilet paper, and your front door has been egged - you will know that they remembered who gave them the broken cell phone lights!!! Hmm??? Maybe I should rethink the idea of giving them out at Halloween.....d'oh!

eh..just think of those plastic pumpkins as Mystery Heads and dump them in! Hopefully they have a nice weight to them so they make a "fwump" when tossed in the pumpkin heads or pillow cases to add to their excitement! Bad Grin

Good idea! These could be their treats for the next 20 years (that shows just how many kids we get each year - if any).

Why Thank you Ava! I am, after all, a genius!

I can see it now: "Mom!!! That crazy cat lady down the street gave me a set of Monster S-video cables in my bag! It has a gold plated S-video head with two gold-plated RCA heads, for unsurpassed and superior luminance, color reproduction, as well as fidelity! It's nitro-injected cable shielding will keep my picture crisp and sharp without any outside interference!" mom: "oh, that's nice. Does it taste good?"

If anybody feels like "recycling" their cell phone lights, working or not, I would be willing to take them. I plan on using my 48 as little prizes at the summer camp I work at. If tightening the screw doesn't make them work, I bet I could get a good deal on the batteries if I bought 100 or so at once. If you want to get rid of yours PM me.

I am not wanting to buy these or pay shipping costs, I am simply willing to take them off your hands if you want to recycle yours. I wouldn't be surprised if nobody PM's me, but I thought I would throw this out there just in case.

I just took the time to go through all of my "Flash-Lites". After a fair bit of bending and twisting, I found that I have 138 working flash-lites, 1 half working flash-lite (only one of the lights come on), and 3 dead flash-lites. Not a bad percentage...

Now I just need to find some retail space, and open up shop!

Been thinking about how to sell these too... even if it means tossing them in with other products that I'm selling. The only problem is explaining to someone that they need to hold the light just-so in order to get them to work, and/or telling them they need to pump the button for a few seconds to get it to work.

This is probably why they failed in a store... customer picks it up, presses the button, nothing happens. No sale.
