Lots of times we get a mystery - or extra - that we can't use/don't need. Then we see in the forums that somneone else got something we would love to have. Is there some way we can set up a swap? For instance, I see that A got the FLING thst I wanted, and I have a bunch of things that I'd like to trade. Can I contact A and see if s/he wants to trade? OR, can I post that I want to trade to see if anyone has the FLING I wanted? Naturally, we'd each be responsible for the postage - and could add extras IF we wanted. I've done this on other boards and it has worked well. Comments? Shaggy? Your Royal Queenness? Anyone?   FLINGING with wild abandon since 12/2006 - Good things come to those who FLING !

Yes, this has been brought up before. I don't think TF would (or should ) have anything to do with this type of thing. The problems that I remember being mentioned were: *People that don't hold up their end of the deal...and someone ends up screwed *The shipping costs...who pays...what if one ends up paying more than the other *QUOTE From a Flinger: One thing I didn't think of before I posted was how this might affect their sales. Seeing posts about trading specific items made me think about the fact that this site still sells some of those items (the disk fixer with refills comes to mind). It was never my intention to negatively affect TFs sales. So...Personally..I think that if anyone wants to trade...they should do it privately through pm's .... no I don't think it would be a problem to the TF gang. I think what people are doing is posting like you did..say I have stuff for trade..PM me if you're interrested and have stuff to trade and people will PM them to see Who has what and what who wants to trade. say THAT 5 times fast!  I have a huge box full of stuff..but..I have no clue what half of it is!

It's been mentioned before, and I think has some potential. I have actually swapped some items around via PMs on the forum. Maybe a section just for communicating that would be helpful, just to filter it out from all the other comments in other forums.

I have traded with flingers a few times. It has always worked out well. We each pay for shipping and if what I am sending is lighter than what I am getting, I put some extras in to up the weight and make up for the shipping difference. Wants were posted in the different discussions then PMed to arrange the trade. A swap page would sure make this easier! I know I have some MB stuff sitting around here that TF doesn't post for sale that I could trade. I really don't see a swap page cutting into TFs profits much if at all. Maybe TF will let us know their feelings on this. Greek
