This looks like it would work better than the older model version of this that I bought a couple years back - with that one, the keyboard worked great all the time and the mouse worked well in the air. The problem came when you tried to use the mouse on a desktop - the rocker/clicker part of the buttons was set pretty far back from the edge, so that it would be convenient to click with your thumb (like using a remote), but was very awkward when you were trying to use it like a mouse on the table - instead of putting pressure on the end of the mouse under your fingertips, you had to put pressure further back, like around where your first knuckle was. This made me give it up, in spite of my enjoyment of the mouse in the air.

But, like I said, it looks like they retooled things and it should be easier to use this on the desktop. Definitely not a high performance gaming rig, but useful if you've got a media PC or just want to sit away from your monitor (like on a couch) and still control things.

I keep thinking about this, and thinking about this, and thinking.......

If the coupons were now "stacked," I'd use them and buy one.
The list was getting too long to continue to provide details: 25 flings flung - 14 of them mysteries - $477.69 total damage

Did anyone get one of these that worked?

After waiting more than two weeks for mine, I finally got it yesterday. The packaging was as described earlier in this thread - disappointing! No way this is a FACTORY refurb, I can tell you that. Looks more like a repackaged customer return to me.

Bottom line is I really have no idea whether either the mouse or keyboard work because the USB transceiver appears to be dead! Tried two computers and multiple USB ports and nothing.

I already submitted a ticket. Depending upon how they handle this it may be my last fling.

Please, no BS replies from Fling wannabes telling me all will be fine, blah, blah, blah...

i ordered 2 and one will not charge. after some investigation, one of the battery is bad so i submitted a ticket. thingfling's reply didn't really help. i had to send it back at my expense after being sold returned item instead of a refurbished item. i'm also not allowed to cancel my purchase without $5 penalty fee.

i'll take this as a loss because sending it back at my expense will cost me at least another $10 and i'll have to risk another returned item whether or not it will charge.

no more flinging anything for me.

i would have to say mine is a customer return, and no one checked it out. it was obvious from the package. I spent the $9 to send it back, hopefully i get a good one, but now I am not keeping my hopes up.

actually i contacted gyration support and they said it's still under 2yr warranty.
my replacement of transceiver, GC15RF, is on it's way now.
so if you still want to make it work and plan to keep, consider to contact gyration support whether they can send you a replacement; not sure they can/willing to send whole package but for my case, it's only for transceiver
-- of course, s/h to Mipitas, CA is your expense

Same experience here... new reciever on the way... was pretty impressed with how fast Gyration support turned the whole thing around, pretty much 24hrs via emails... there is an 888 number too.,,,
To many to keep counting... still Flinging...

I wish I would have thought of that. Mine is on its way back to Thing Fling... I don't even know whether I will get a replacement or a refund!

I returned mine to TF, got a new one, and it is broken, too! damnit! the battery in the mouse is loos inside it's case. if I shake it, the lights come on. but I will try gyration support. no way I am spending more cash sending this back.

Got one a few weeks ago. I had one previously. They've changed the receivers for these. The older models had a small telescoping antenna on a base and had fine range. This one came with a "USB Key" receiver similar to a Logitech or Microsoft mouse. The range is not nearly as good. My keyboard occasionally stops receiving at just 6'.

Other than that, still a fine product though, this is my second one. You just won't be getting 30' range with it.

I have the keyboard and remote suite that came with the USB key. When I had it on the back of my HTPC I got spotty/bad range but it came with a short USB extension cord and once I put the key on that and had it facing out front, its been pretty spotless.

I'm still waiting for them to acknowledge that they have received mine!

It was delivered on Tuesday morning, but I received an email response on Friday morning stating that their returns department had not received it yet!

They won't even tell me if I will get a replacement or a refund! When was the last time they had this item up for sale?

Patience , Grasshopper. Thing Fling has many help tickets so it does take time. I sent a help ticket and it was completed in about a week. If your religous, thats how long it took God to create earth....if not...then that is how long antibitotics take to be effective.............good things will come to those that wait.Anxious

Thanks for the advice, but I've been waiting quite a while now, close to a month, in fact! My original ticket has been mysteriously closed, without a trace, and a new one opened in its place. It has been about 2 weeks now since I sent this thing back.

How can it take more than three days for them to acknowledge receipt when I have proof of delivery, anyway? And you'd think that they might have an idea by now about whether or not they have a replacement to send me, wouldn't you?

What a bunch of clowns!

Well, they are still looking around for my package that was delivered almost a week ago now, but, since I have proof of delivery, they have agreed to go ahead and send me a replacement, anyway. It should ship out today.

It has now been more than 6 weeks since I originally ordered one of these things. I sure hope this one is in better shape than the last one was.
