WHY YES! You guessed it! saw your post after I posted mine! YES..FUBAR and since I bought it too long ago to return it..I have to bring it back X amt of times before it's declared...FUBAR! Lot's of luck I'm still fightin with those assholes over my laptop!!!Goin in nfor the 3rd time in 13 months Just about replaced everything in it and still won't give me a new one even with the 3 yr insurance($150)Not counting the gas 15 miles each way,and the weeks with out it.Best buy sux ass OH ya it is only 14months old Now THAT sucks the big one! Mine's only a camera..but I'd be seriously pissed if it was a laptop! Yeah..security might have to drag me out if that was the case. I'm thinking what I'm going to do this time is take some pics and make them load them on thier computer and see if they like the way they look. I'm so not thrilled with this camera..this will be the third time it's in there and I got this camera in September or October so it's only about 7 or 8 months old! I really miss my Olympus..that's what I'm aiming for...I want them to take this camera back and let me pick out a new one and put the $$ towards another one...preferably another Olympus or that Panasonic Scared is talking about after I look into it. I would really like one that will take good video in low light too.

I learned that the hard way..had to buy all new pots and pans..my Revere Ware started to spin on the stove as it heated up! Don't know about cast iron..I don't use the stuff...but I know you're not supposed to use glass on it either from what I understand. I'd go back to normal burners in a heartbeat!

If you are only using one pan/pot just turn on a different burner and when it gets where you need it, SWITCH IT OVER. Just use caution and don't goes burning yourself. Zombies are my favorite! The damn stuff is so heavy!!!!!!! I don't "only" cook with cast iron, but it is the only way to make a really good cornbread, blacken steak/chicken. They won't rust if you take care of it. If you use it right, you only have to season it once. I know of people who look for old cast iron pans from like 100 years ago, not because they may be worth anything, but 100 years of cooking in it gives it a seasoning that cannot be beat. So if your Grandmother ever offers you her old cast iron, TAKE IT with out hesitation and use it often. Zombies are my favorite! I know what AVA looks like

And you are right about the taste - cornbread is great cooked in cast iron, and so is fried chicken!!!

angelsvintageattic wrote:oooohhh Melmo! NICE!! Love the brown and black! CLASSY! Hey...your stove..is that the all solid black top or do you have any speckles..it looks like mine is..solid black...actually..it looks like the same stove..is yours a Maytag? If it's solid black..how do you like it? I HATE MINE! If I ever get another glass top stove it WILL have speckles on it..I loved the way it looked..but damn...it's a pain in the butt! Every speck of dust finds it's way to my stove top..I dust it every time I walk into the kitchen (florida is a dusty state as it is) But it's constant with the Glass Cleaner (non amonia of course) and God Forbid anythying spills over...a speck of water looks like a huge blob on it! I'll never get another glass top..or at least solid black glass top! I love what you did with the tile work on the floor! Hey..MY cabinets were that hideous dark brown crap too! I painted mine white too..well..the color is called "Stowe White" I guess it's a creamy white..hell..it's WHITE! If I remember I'll have to take a pic this weekend when it's light out..remember..I live in the dark! bwhahahahaaa! The stove and dishwasher are both Frigidare. I LOVE my stove. I just hate cleaning the damn thing...you're right...the dust shows constantly, even after cleaning it. I clean it with a microfiber towel now with some windex and that helps. (after cleaning it with the stove top cleaner) The floor was my idea(yay!) before we replaced the appliances. the white square goes through the main part of the kitchen, and its darker toward where the door was for hiding the dirt better(we have actually moved the doorway to the other side of the wall, and made a laundry room so the washer and dryer are not in the kitchen anymore). At least I'm not the only one that painted mine white. Everyone said I should have left it the lighter wood, but I don't like wood cabinets.

Especially if it's a Griswold Pan! They're worth a small fortune! GRISWOLD SKILLETS DAYUM!!!! What makes these so valuable? You are just a wealth of "collectibles" info..... welp..mainly because they went out of business in the 50's and you can't get them anymore. They are high quality and everyone loves them..so..now they're collectible since you can't get them anymore! Usually the rule of thumb is..if a company goes out of business..hang on to what you have. Hey..take crap that was made in Japan...the old five and dime crap..whouda thunk it could be collectible..no you won't rake in a fortune off of the stuff..but people do pay a decent price for the crap! Reason...we don't get imports from Japan anymore..that stopped back in the 80's. Then there's the whole NIPPON and Occupied Japan thing..but I'm sure you know all about that stuff with all the stuff your mom has collected over the years...AND....those DOLLS! eeeeek!
