OH..by the way..if you come to MY house..it's coffee..or cappuccino..which ever you like...and biscotti! Never had tea and crumpets..what exactly IS a crumpet? Here's the other side of that wall...the rest of the actual "nook" where you will be served JAVA and biscotti! oh..and while I'm at it..here's my knife holder in the kitchen! WOW - what an awesome looking room!! My house is cluttered, and looks as if it was decorated by Sanford & Son! Nothing matches!!! I'm jealous of folks that can coordinate a room as well as you have - I have no "eye" for decoration. I just buy stuff that I love, and set it somewhere.....

My camera has been acting wierd...if I don't use the flash..the pictures are grainy...I have no idea what that is...I've had it in for repairs twice already....and I only bought it in September! Believe it or not..the camera was an upgrade from my Olympus and it seems my Olympus was better..had it for over 8 years and never a problem! The Geek Squad has been fixing it..I think I should bring it back again...this way eventually they'll get tired of seeing me and let me return the damn thing and get another camera. Now..Melmo's is black and brown..she just redid her kitchen...mine is red, black, yellow and white. I'm dying to see Melmo's...I love black and brown together, very classy..I'm re-doing one of the bedrooms in these colors..I bet her kitchen is beautiful in those colors.

DO NOT BRING IT TO GEEKSQUAD. Those big box retail stores are clueless. You are better off finding a small camera repair shop, What kind of camera is it? Usually grainy pics happen because of low light. A flash is no substitute for good lighting. I see the red in the base of the guy. I have seen the red ones before but never orange Zombies are my favorite! I know what AVA looks like

It's a Sony Cyber Shot...and yeah...I have low lighting all over the house...I hate bright lights! ya know....Orange is kind of an "IN" color these days...the whole retro orange, brown and cream thing...although..I survived the 70's decor once already...dont' plan to do it again! Yeah..those knife holders come in all different colors including brushed nickel now! My daughter cracks up every time she comes over and see it...she thinks it's ironic that I got it right after my divorce...but I wasn't even thinking that..I just thought it was funny and HAD to have it..she thinks it's a Freudian Slip!

It's a Sony Cyber Shot...and yeah...I have low lighting all over the house... I hate bright lights! Ava, you're a gremlin?? v Vee is right, most digicams have problems with low light--and compensate by increasing the gain/luminance of the picture, which increases the grain. It's a bit like the digital equivalent of using higher film speeds on the film cameras--they'll capture more light in a shorter amount of time, but the grain is more visible as the halide crystals are larger. BUT some digicams are better with low light than others, it's all a mix of their CCD sensor(the electronic "film" equivalently) size, the size of the glass in the lens, and the software running the camera. You said you had an 8 year old Olympus--those were AWESOME at low light cameras! I had a old 1.3 mega pixel Olympus as my first digicam, way before it became "every day to have a digicam. Sure res has improved a lot since then, but I still miss that camera, it took damned awfully nice photos. So when you convince the Geek Squad you need a replacement, my suggested line to look into are the Panasonic Lumix line. I swear by those. They all have built in optical image stabilization which helps greatly to take unblurred shots in low light without the aid of tripods. And they all have wonderful Leica certified lenses. My main faux-DSLR is a Panny FZ-20 and my small everyday pocket camera is a Panny FX9.

oh gosh...i forgot i promised pictures of it! Here they are...I have a VERY small kitchen! I tried to clean up a bit before I took them Ignore the white crap under the microwave. We got new appliances just a few months ago and my husband hasn't patched the holes so I can repaint right there. The cabinets used to be a VERY VERY dark brown. We sanded them down and painted them white, all by hand. I should have taken them higher up, to show that I painted the molding around the top black too. The towels are hand made by my grandmother, who is 84? I think. She loves the fact that I actually use them because my own mother was too snooty and stuck up to have anything like that in her home!

My main faux-DSLR is a Panny FZ-20 and my small everyday pocket camera is a Panny FX9. Yes..I've been told I'm a gremlin..or a bat..I like the dark..always have! I even work in the dark..only need the glow of my monitor! Yeah..I've always said I need a low lux camera..but damn those things are expensive! They said the Sony Cyber Shot was the best for low lighting over all they had there..and if that's true..then anything else really does suck! My Olympus pretty good in low lighting.. it wasn't quite grainy and was much better than this Sony. It's very wierd how it looks actually. So much for an upgrade on a new camera! OH..that CCD sensor thing was the problem the last two times I brought it in..they had to reattach it or something they said. I'm seriously hoping they'll let me eventually trade for a new camera and I'll trade up to another Olympus but better this time. I really loved the way that camera worked...It was very user friendly..this Sony not so much. So Panasonic Lumix line?? I'll have to look into that one. Now this sony has the built in image stabilizer also which is nice specifically when I've had too much coffee..but if it works nice in low light..I'm going to be thrilled! Do you know of any good Low Lux cameras?? A FLIR system would be nice! CHA CHING!

Hey that looks an awful lot like my Gevalia Coffee maker Hey scaredwitless: What do you think of the Canon S# IS series? I was going to get the S5IS because I have 275 Dell dollars, but I am waiting to see when the S6 IS comes out. I have wanted one since the S2 but have been waiting for at least 8 MP. I just want to see what you think about that. I have read a lot of reviews and some people panned the Panny (pun intended) Zombies are my favorite! I know what AVA looks like

Hey...your stove..is that the all solid black top or do you have any speckles..it looks like mine is..solid black...actually..it looks like the same stove..is yours a Maytag? If it's solid black..how do you like it? I HATE MINE! If I ever get another glass top stove it WILL have speckles on it..I loved the way it looked..but damn...it's a pain in the butt! Every speck of dust finds it's way to my stove top..I dust it every time I walk into the kitchen (florida is a dusty state as it is) But it's constant with the Glass Cleaner (non amonia of course) and God Forbid anythying spills over...a speck of water looks like a huge blob on it! I'll never get another glass top..or at least solid black glass top! I love what you did with the tile work on the floor! Hey..MY cabinets were that hideous dark brown crap too! I painted mine white too..well..the color is called "Stowe White" I guess it's a creamy white..hell..it's WHITE! If I remember I'll have to take a pic this weekend when it's light out..remember..I live in the dark! bwhahahahaaa! OH...Scared...here's an example of the graininess I get from that camera..see how it's all speckly?? Especially the red! It's not like that at all! It drives me crazy! I'm really hoping they agree the camera is trash this time!
