I found the thread on the combo lock..nm. http://www.thingfling.co...Notebook-Combolock.aspx
stufuller wrote: To change the combination:
1. Set the dials to the current combination (0000 on the red line, by default). 2. Push in the button on the end of the lock and hold it in. 3. Turn the dials to the new combination. 4. Release the button.
Just tried it out on mine, and it seems to work pretty well.

I got the same as the other posted. 4-6 (date of the mystery box) was my Thing Fling Anniversary, so I was hoping to get shagged , but alas, it was not to be! Still a cool box of stuff though!

I got exactly the same as everyone else. This is the first time I am aware of that everyone got the same stuff in a MB. I guess maybe they were all prepacked and ready to ship as someone mentioned earlier. I am still very happy with what I got since the Philips MP3 speakers really made my day. Mine kinda got eaten by a large furry critter while on loan.

Got mine today - same exact stuff - EXCEPT - I had a LIVE beetle in mine. I assume it crawled in the box while sitting on my front porch - but then again, it could be a New Jersey beetle.....Hmm??????

I received my mystery box today; it takes about a week to get to Oregon. It's identical to the picture Melmo posted, so no big surprises. But it was fun for my first fling and I'm pretty happy with the results. First, a little anecdote about how my first fling came around: about 3 am, Sunday morning, my cell phone wakes me up. I didn't get to it in time, but a message was left. Oh, yay, some jerkwad making a prank call, yelling obscenities. And he was thoughtful enough to leave a message. There's nothing like a phone call in the middle of the night to wake you up. Must be that "uh oh, must be bad news" anticipation that jolts you awake. I couldn't get back to sleep, so I go online to DVDTalk forums and into the Hot Deals board, which I rarely check. There was a thread about the $3.77 mystery box, which intrigued me. What is this thingfling? After nosing about the TF forums, especially about the mystery boxes, I thought it sounded fun and potentially lucrative: a hard-to-beat combination. Cool, there was a mystery box coming up! And they take paypal, which is my fun money from my ebay sales! OK, fling me one! And about 40 minutes later, they were sold out. So, thanks to that prank call, I found out about it and was one of the few west coasters awake at 6:30 am on a Sunday to get one in time. Maybe this is one of those cases of a bad thing making something good happen. And the spoils? Well, my wife owns a laptop and mp3 player, so the speakers, USB hub and laptop cable benefit her. I like the power inverter; it'll come in handy for charging cell phones, mp3 player or laptop when we're on the road. And you can never have too many outlet strips. The network cables will go into my spare cable bag. It would have been nice if it was a retractable network cable, but maybe that'll turn up later. I'm a little disappointed there weren't any light-up gadgets like the keychains or TF fans, but maybe next time. I've got the Greatest Mystery Box that was offered on April 10 on the way now; yeah, I'm hooked. Can I resist looking at the threads for other people getting theirs first??? I'm keeping my eye out for a mp3 FM transmitter, an mp3 player for me and of course, more mystery boxes. "A boat's a boat, but the mystery box could be anything. It could even be a boat! You know how much we wanted one of those!" -Peter Griffin
