Mystery boxes are just another item that are occasionally available to buy in the 'one item at a time' format. It will have some sort of name and description which either indicates that the entire box is a mystery or that you will get a certain item or type of item along with other unknown items (called an "Almost Mystery Box" here).

Ideally, there's usually SOME indication of the value, and in my short experience, ThingFling's been pretty generous. On ANOTHER site with a mystery box, they had apparently just bought a bunch of dollar store junk to stuff in the boxes, and pretty much destroyed their own reputation. ThingFling's boxes have been honest bargains with a mix of some really nice valuable items and some other random pieces. The big chance is whether it will be valuable to YOU. For example, I got a bunch of Philips GoGear for the Philips line of MP3 players...not too useful to me, but of undeniable value!

Just had a random thought (I get too many of those while on ThingFling)...I wonder if they might end this rapid-fire clearance day with a Mystery Box? It might even just be random items that they've been selling throughout the day. Think

ThingFling offers AMB's (Almost Mystery Boxes) every so often. It used to be every Weds night/Thurs morning at midnight, but lately they have been few and far between. For a while they were doing complete MB's, but I think they have switched back to just doing AMB's. I don't know when they will be doing an AMB or MB again. All I can say is watch the site and the "Upcoming Flings" section.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I don't think so. They usually tell you in advance if they are going to do something like that. But one can always pray! Pray
"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then flingest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
