Can you add a headset to this? Also does it have the belt clip so you don't have to carry it around when you using "handsfree"???

I flung it. I've been needing more phones. These had very good reviews for range and clarity.
Doubt there's a belt clip because I don't think there's an earphone plug even though some descriptions say so. Reviews on Amazon say no headphone jack.
But this meets my needs with an apparently high quality phone.

Really good phone, got it in my mystery box.
No belt clip, no earphone jack.
Range on mine is over 1/8 mile.
Battery life is super good. Uses standard aaa 1.2v NiMh rechargable batteries, none of this special battery crap.

What wopaul said Smile

Good range, a nice wide set of options for ring tones (mine's currently set to "The Entertainer". Nice, compact phones.

I agree that a headphone jack would have been nice, but I really can't complain since all of my long calls are on Skype any more.

Reviews don't look too good. Crappy interface, dysfunctional caller ID (only 8 characters displayed). Nearly went for it but backed off at the last minute.

I got this the last time it was offerd and I love it. I have had no trouble excet that people call back wondering who my British friend is that recorded the Answering machine for me. I lost my directions and dont know how to erase old phone numbers from the address book or how to silence the ringer. Is there a way to get a copy of the directions? I say hooray for the King of Fling! Applause

Aren't all Dect 6.0 phone 1.9GHz? This copy makes it sound unique to this phone. Am I mistaken?

I just finally hooked mine up the other night. Unfortunately, I've already disconnected them. It was definitely a refurb, but sadly enough, I don't think mine ever got refurbed...lol. The answering machine still had 14 messages from the previous owner, who was obviously in serious financial trouble, considering all the collections calls she had on the machine. Also, I couldn't walk more than 3 feet away from the base station or the phone would cut out. I know that can't be normal. It also had a horrible echo whenever I would talk... and my voice NEVER echoes when I talk without the phone, so it's not me. I was pretty excited when I first got these in my mystery box, now I know why I got them... I always did have rotten luck, so I should have known better...lol. Oh well, live and learn. At least the answering machine messages made me laugh.

I purchased this phone the last time it was offered.

It arrived today and I have mixed feelings towards this purchase.

The main base station seems to work fine.

The expansion set on the other hand came with dead rechargeable batteries, After trying to charge them for 3 hours they are still not showing any signs of life.

The A/C adapter charging base for the expansion set is non-functional, placing the working batteries in the expansion headset and placing it on the expansion base will not charge. The charging base is pretty simple so I suspect the issue is with the A/C adapter.

I've opened a ticket about this and I hope thingfling does the right thing and makes good on these defective parts.

I'll keep everyone updated on this issue.

I recieved mine and am very happy with my purchase. Everything works fine, though there was a garbled message on the base station. I think it might have been a test message done during the refurb, as it sounded like it was just background noise in a factory or something.

My expansion handset would not charge until I registered it with the base, then it charged up fine. It was on the expansion charger for over 24 hours, got really warm to the touch, but barely registed as having any charge. Once it was registered- bang zoom it charged right up. Doesn't make a bit of sense, but that's what happened.

Philips should do a much better job when they refurb thier products. I had a slew of numbers in the caller ID, the phonebook still had over 30 entries and there were 2 messages that were as clear as a bell. Not for nothing - this should give us all pause to think about how and where we store personal data. ThingFling is just selling what they go from Philips as refurb so it's not thier issue. From a legal perspective, Philips is entering a very murky area when it comes to disemination of confidential customer information. Just from doing reverse searches on the numbers in the phone, I could figure out a hell of a lot about the person who originally used it. At least it was very clean...

I got these in my mystery box as well. I havent tried them out yet as im still waiting for phone service to be hooked up but I too had old caller id messages. I didnt check the contacts but I will now that I read this. Mine didnt even come with packaging. Just loose items in the original box.

Im not expecting much with call quaility. But maybe ill get lucky.
