My Week 3 super obese 20 pounder holiday edition mystery box landed today...



I have started a new thread for this, for better visibility, because flingers far and near need to hear the story of the obese 20 pounder holiday Mystery box! I let the contents speak for themselves, yet let it be known that the land of the fling is a generous and giving land, and it's king, queen, and royal servants are indeed most generous.

Presenting the obese Mystery:


I was rushed when I took that, apologies for the bad positioning and angle, however I have time right now, so I will list the contents, and present their lowest price on froogle as well if they can be found. Will also present thingfling's price for the item if it is a regular fling item, and several truly are, my friends.

In order of them being pulled out of the box:
1. 2 x Southwestern bell cordless phone emergency backup.

comment: I had written the help desk about my battery backup from week 2 not working... The king granted me a replacement, at no extra cost. I didn't have to send back the defective one, and paid nothing for the replacement... and I got TWO of them as replacements!

comment: I am just beyond speechless about this one. I really REALLY wanted this fling but couldn't justify the price... I even jokingly said in the product thread, well I suppose it was more of a wishful thinking hint, that if they happen to have more of these then they can hanle, i glady offer my mystery box as a means of disposing of it. They listened!! What I receiver from TF was brand new in shrink wrap, so I ignored the refurbs on froogle and listed the first new one I found that was actually in stock. Again though from a questionable store.

comment: I know what you're thinking, finally we get to the crap heart of my box, right? Not at all, these things are the colest thing ever. See pics below, I'll let them speak for themselves.

Final froogle total: $270.99 not including shipping and only for the items I could find, and again from questionable stores which I probably wouldn't buy from.

Final thingfling total: $135.88 including shipping of course and only for the items TF sells on a regular basis. (!!)

Thingfling... I... I... Love you. There I said it. hank you so much king and queen, and thank you to the helpdesk guy that has to listen to my ranom incessant rambling, thank you shaggy fling, thank you lady fling, thank you spy fling, thank you help fling, and all the behind the scenes flings! Thanks thingfling, I am speechless about this box, I feel like Iwon the lottery, and all I paid ou of pocket was $24.99(!!).

Maybe rude, but apparently true. Guess all us disgruntled flingers have learned a valuable lesson.

Glad someone hit the jackpot. I rolled the $30 dice this time but I'll pass on the next go-round. Would have been an okay deal if I owned an XM radio receiver (I don't) or an XBox (I don't). The cordless phone set is prolly worth the price of the raffle ticket (don't need one, but it could be a gift to someone who does), but hey, what's with 2 empty Phillips cassette tape cases? Why not some 8 track or beta tapes or a few buggy whips?

From what I've seen, the w00t bags-o-crap are a lot better deal but harder to procure. Maybe if FlingKing would throw in the occasional super goodie I'd take another chance?

All in all, not a bad deal, just not a killer one.

No no, We have sent just as nice boxes to different people before. We also sent very nice boxes to people with some hard feelings about thingfling the only thing is that We hardly see a picture or a comment on our forums.

I was happy with all 3 of my boxes, A, B & C as I have previously posted.

All 3 boxes had one items that was worth more than what I paid for the entire box.

As far as I am concerned, there will always be some people that will never be pleased, even if you sent them a 60" HDTV.
